Higher zed count + zeds dont respawn = challenging but realistic and I love it, plus it kinda gives you actual goals like clearing out a town completely. I dont like it how im in pretty much an isolated area that ive cleared out and every month theres like a small hoard that spawns right next to me, migration is cool but spawning just feels unrealistic to me, if someone can survive and create a safehouse that can survive for months, than it makes sense that the area surrounding it would become a more peaceful and isolated area. Installing the Occupied Lousville mod really brought Zomboid back into the 'fresh and new' for me. I was starting to get bored of spawning in at the smaller towns, getting geared relatively easily and just finding I had no goal to work towards. Spawn in Louisville? Every day is survival, keeps it so fresh.
I did a very similar run myself a few months ago, with the broken leg start from the More Traits mod and 0 fitness, 0 strength start. The army houses to the south side of Louisville and the farmland houses near the corn maze was a perfect place to set up the run for me. Low zombie count even on insane population settings!

Why is Repairman with Maintenance bonus completely broken? I've played a few hundred hours of PZ but not really a min/maxer and play mostly casually based on a theme for each run be it wander, farmer, and etc. So haven't really crunched numbers on what's optimal just from what I've learned.
Maintenance basically makes your weapons last longer. It has a more noticeable effect on less durable weapons (i.e. high maintenance has more effect on, say, a knife, than a crowbar). The scale to which maintenance improves weapon durability is kind of complicated. The short version is that a high maintenance skill can improve average weapon durability by anywhere between 14% to well over 1,000%, with the percentage getting higher the less naturally durable your weapon is. The long version is that every weapon has a unique condition lowering chance, as well as a maximum condition. Let's take a hypothetical weapon that has a 1 in 10 condition lowering chance and 10 durability. That means, on average, you will get 100 hits out of that weapon (9 rolls not taking damage, 1 roll taking damage = 10 hits per condition, times 10 condition, = 100) before it breaks. Maintenance adds directly to your condition lower chance. At 10 maintenance, your 1 in 10 condition lower chance becomes 1 in 20. That means, for the *same* weapon, suddenly you can get an average of 200 hits. What's more, maintenance is levelled by hitting something with a weaopn and that weapon NOT taking condition damage. It levels slowly, so the boost is a huge bonus, *and* the boost of starting with points in maintenance means you're already getting a boost to your condition lower chance.
@@masterdynamo6457 Thanks for the info. I never really looked that much into it because I'm a bit of a hoarder. I often end up with multiple copies of all weapons, short the really rare ones like Katana. I also tend to sort through the corpses in a huge crowd and find lots of extra weapons and ammo. Even had cases where I broke even or came out with more ammo then I went in with. For melee weapons bats are common enough and so is things like wood glue. But even then I prefer crowbar once I get it and often have several as the game progresses into late game. I typical go house by house clearing them out. I put crates out front of rather large POI and move most of the valuable stuff I can't haul back to base into them for quick pickup if and when I might need them. Like can food, bottled water, weapons, ammo, some medical supplies, and etc. Pretty much anything that is actually useful that you might need in large amounts. Things that you don't need multiples of I tend to leave on their original containers like extra copies of books, cooking supplies like pots/pans, much of the cleaning supplies, furniture, car tools as I don't need 5 wrenches, and etc. Not really done a play through were I had issues running out of weapons.Though if I did a survivalist with a bunch of crafting weapons like spears and low durability I could see the skill being important.
At 12:48 a zombie has a hand axe in its back, and I was like sweet! An axe will be awesome! He's going to pick up the axe right? He's going to say something about the axe... NO AXE
I appreciate creators like yourself disciplining yourself to set these settings this way. I did a "normal" single player run once, with vanilla settings. I went 3 months and built a fort out in the woods, for nothing, it would have taken a very long time for the migration mechanic to pull zeds into the cell i was in. I had dozens of crates filled with guns and ammo(yes using mods). I just couldnt continue that run cause of how much time it would have taken to set up elsewhere and the trips back and forth of bringing the hoarded loot with me. This is why I set xp multiplier to 20x. I do not like the grind of this game in singleplayer. kudos to you, I just cant do vanilla settings anymore
I honestly love Zomboid for being so customizable. In Singleplayer i also often turn up the XP modifier. But it allows for so many interesting runs. I basically am doing a fun run atm. Zombies don't respawn and the world spawns a ton of guns
I have a question. Why not take one or two of those semi trucks parked at the festival and use both to mow down quite a few zombies in the process? I've noticed that not a lot of people do any of that, but never heard a reason why. I get that the vehicles get damaged, but if you don't plan on using them, why not?

I feel like any truck could be used to kill zombies in large numbers just towing something around that will snag on them and chew them up. Or just something with real climbing power to go mudding only it's not mud heh.

1:30 why does he look like Negan? Either way, love the content, keep it up!
12:27 The reason this happens is because the game literally spawns zombies inside buildings when you're near them. You can look in debug mode and see
“So I was asked to perform an impossible task, but that didn’t seem hard enough so I made it harder”
Shout out to the one zombie in the horde who seems to take 6 or 7 solid hammer shots to the face until his buddy slowly gets back to his feet.
Things to do in Louisville:
1. Leave
At 12:48 a zombie has a hand axe in its back, and I was like sweet! An axe will be awesome! He's going to pick up the axe right? He's going to say something about the axe...
NO AXE
What a fun watch! Thanks for keeping at it!
Goddammit why is it always the r slur🚶🏾♂️💀
Some say there's a woman doing the same thing in these parts of town, maybe you *two are meant for each other*
Choosing emophiliac was a terrible choice, anxiety makes your char WAAAYY to weak to fight
I have a question.
Why not take one or two of those semi trucks parked at the festival and use both to mow down quite a few zombies in the process? I've noticed that not a lot of people do any of that, but never heard a reason why.
I get that the vehicles get damaged, but if you don't plan on using them, why not?
trucks are loud and zeds have a way of slowing down moving objects exponentially
If enough damage happens to the engine, the vehicle stops. If it stops I'm a horde, you're dead. Zombies are pretty good at stopping cars as well
Far cry outposts on the hardest difficulty be like
which far cry is good ? I bought the five but never played it
Yass amazong vid my friend :) hope all is well with you and the family
ahhh zombie slaying asmr with lofi to study to. love it
I’m currently taking on the challenge of clearing at least some of Louisville
I’ve based up at the warehouse in valley station which is super close to the main entrance to the city.
I’m Playing with high population, no zombie respawn britas weapon pack the common sense mod and become desensitised.
Currently on 1782 zombies killed, not sure how long I’ve survived but luckily it’s not winter yet
Day 1 of asking you to take back knox county and somehow figure out how to end the zombie apocalypse.
Would Veteran for the desensitised perk just be extremely useful on settings like these with a goal like this?
The cost is too high to justify personally, especially considering beta blockers are pretty common in PZ.
Just a small tip for all those who hate fat fingering q change that key bind to backspace bc you’re much less likely to fat finger it and it still gives you the ability to shout if you want
hey man i came from the 1000 days challenge and have enjoyed the videos keep going
The first 30 seconds earned you a like, holy shit 😮. I can’t wait
Looks great! Let's see what happens in the next episodes.
1:24 Shouldn't have said that. Now you gotta do it with sprinters.
Ricksdetrix did a roof top louisville sprinters series
if you can clear a whole city and make it that no zombie spawn you can make a HUGE save zone
The way you play Zomboid scares me. Getting to close to those hordes in such tight quarters? No thank you!
Would have been even funnier if you narrated all this in Steven Seagal’s “All my neck fat is strangling my vocal chords” voice. 😂
Hemophobic truly is terrible as a trait ngl
I had it on most characters but I just can’t mentally deal with needing to clean off every drop of blood that gets on my tools and stuff. Ik that’s realistic, cleaning everything off and such, but like bruh I wanna go on a looting run, not wash myself for 2 hours every single day
Hey predz, on behalf of the community, what are your thoughts about creating a pvp server for your followers?
Oh thank goodness someone's getting all the zombies out of my hometown
25:10 damn bro you teleported from Kentucky to California.
The choice of music really made this awesome for me.
Nice! Looking forward to the next episode
smoker isnt a negative trait
As someone who lives about 30 minutes away, I can tell it's not pronounced Luey-ville. It's Lou-ville round these parts. Nice video very accurate to the real Louville
So you just hammer every zombie individually? No way to kill zombies as a group? Do zombies take fall damage? I feel like any truck could be used to kill zombies in large numbers just towing something around that will snag on them and chew them up. Or just something with real climbing power to go mudding only it's not mud heh.
dude drank outta the toilet that he just cleaned his bloody clothes in... with a sink right there.
Louisville, as in Kentucky? These zombies could very well be the return of the living dead zombies, As that is where the first film takes place
19:35 bro literally went out of his way to shit on that zombie lmao
Maaannn I was liking your video so much!! Why’d you have to use the r-word
this was great man
The most chill music for a zombie apocalypse 😂
Hi I subscribed ur channel, one important question: do u set your zombie number to be finite or infinite spawn?
Brave not to close all the curtains in your house. Do curtains matter on the 2nd floor?
Are there any mods that allow you to blend in with the zombies? Kinda like the guts trick in the walking dead?
THE FACT THAT I live in kenticky and got to Louisville at least once a month this game is for me because because I know the map layout but one question where is ky lake.
At 13:38 are those moving trucks like mod cars? Never seen one before
