How heartbreaking to have to leave the two lovely dogs behind, even knowing they are in the hands of kind and caring Yiannis. I felt this gentleman’s pain.

25 years, no holidays, working 24/7 two jobs he deserves all the help anyone can offer however little, it all adds up. It would be nice for Yiannis to have a home for himself with a verander/patio looking out on the shelter with a few of the older dogs maybe. There is always a need for new enclosures and they cost money, plus food, medical care, dog houses and bedding. Some shelters have everything and are constantly building houses and more....give to Jutta because Yiannis is honest, kind, hard working, completely selfless and proud. Can we make life a little easier for Yiannis at Jutta Shelter and support him and the animals in his care.

It's wonderful to hear that at least someone else cares about the situation. Ioannis could also do with some volunteers to help. I cannot understand why there aren't more locals volunteering. There must be people who have time on their hands and older children too. 💕
Takis said no one from his area volunteers either. That just could be the possible explanation why there is such a problem in Greece!

Thank you Vasee. Jutta shelter is doing amazing work but there is only so much they can do. Creete, as well as many other countries, needs to implement TNR (Trap Neuter Release) programs, vet care for the homeless pets, and ban breeders. This is the only solution. Take Soi Dog organization for example. Only this year they TNRed almost 23000 pets.
I think Greece (volunteers) implements TNR, with cats at least; I have watched videos before.

I am perfectly capable of focusing on multiple things at the same time. The fact is, he talks about how other shelters stage pictures and videos to get more donations, in the same video that uses overly dramatic music to maximize emotional impact. That is an oddity that can and should be called out, even if you support the message.
Why not? If it pulls your heart strings for a good cause, let it be and let it go.
So great that you make "advertisement" for this lovely shelter. Unfortunately they don't have so much support and subscribers but they deserve it!! So please donate, and if not possible go to their website and subscribe and share!!
