Oh my god. When Carrie Mulligan said I was in Dr. Who, I had to think about it for a minute and then it hit me. She was in the episode with the creepy statues(weeping angels). She drove the story and had the most screen time very early in her career. She was terrific!
There's interviewers... and then there's this guy. What an incredible job. He was just so at ease, which put her at ease. He didn't interrupt her, like most of them do and it was so smooth and organic. I could've listened to him ask her questions all day. She's so interesting and he's a very talented interviewer.
Promising Young Woman is a game changer of a film. Carey is finally getting the massive recognition she deserves. I hope she wins the Oscar for playing Cassie. Brilliant woman!
@@thenorsepioneer7311 It brings attention to how society blames the victim regardless of the gender of the person doing the judging. It opens the door to discussions about respect and shines a light into abuse and throws away the idea that just because you do something wrong when you're young, there are no consequences and people who get hurt. The person you wrong has to live with your mistake. As a parent, it was impossible not to have certain conversations with my son and my students after watching it.
Can I just say that the interviewer Joe Utichi is *brilliant* . I mean, seriously...he asks such specific questions to the craft and reminds Carey the subject that she has a captive audience of people with pen and pad just hanging on to her every word. Honestly this was so engaging. Thank you very much.
Covid is horrid for sure but look at how we have adjusted in positive ways like interviews like this. For the actors, they don’t really have to travel all over the world away from their families and lets face it all those fumes from airplanes going into our atmosphere. I love the SAG interviews please continue on in this manner. Stay safe everyone
I'm a Carey Mulligan fan and I think the Oscars are bullshit. As long as she gets to work and play in great flicks, I don't care whether some snob hob nobs think she should get a naked gold man to put in her farm loo. To go even further, I like that she's under the radar, there's no big fuss around her.
The interviewer is wonderful, asking interesting and in depth questions compared to others. Most of the Hollywood reporter interviewers in the Roundtable/CloseUp series should take note of this. And maybe look up Sean Evan’s way of doing it.
They had to bring someone in to help Carrie with her voice because she “didn’t know how to be heard onstage”. That jumped out at me because to me Carrie has such an, I don’t know, I would say distinct, magnetic voice. I Personally am instantly drawn in when she speaks. I’m a Very New fan of Carrie’s having only just watched the Actress Roundtable she did and her speaking voice is the main thing that drew me in. 🙂
Carey Mulligan and the entire cast were fantastic, and A Promising Young Woman is a film everyone needs to see. Carey’s character, Cassie, is the embodiment of collective female rage, as a result of centuries of brutalization at the hands of men. I could probably write a book in response to the reaction some of the press had to the character of Cassie, i.e. calling her insane, as noted by Mulligan. For now, I would just like to point out (SPOILER ALERT) that the characters of Al; Bob and Ryan were involved in a rape which led to the death of one woman, and the brutal murder of another woman (as well as the sickening cover up). And Cassie is the crazy one.

She's so classy and smart, and she also chooses her roles very wisely 💯 My favorite actress, my goat ⭐

Such a brilliant actress and a very meaningful film!
You're a superb actress Carey. And truly kind and humble too. Bravo! Thank you
Why Ms. Mulligan is totally underrated continues to bewilder me. She should've been nominated for an Oscar for Wildlife.

My favourite actress. She was fantastic in doctor who. Blink
What an amazing interview. Thank you.
I don't know what it is about her........can't put my finger on it. I could watch and listen to her for hours upon hours.
She seems so genuine. A truly honest person. That is what I've been thinking. Totally agree with you.
Her beauty, voice, elegance, and relatability all help.
She is lovely, charming, and talented. How's that?
I wish she was my friend for tea.lovely person to be around with .
INFJ cognition has a certain rare energy to it.
This film was a complete surprise, I just watched it in theaters yesterday and it blew my mind!!!
Bloody brilliant actress.🤗
I adore her. Glad she mentioned Dr Who, even if the mention was in passing.

Very insightful discussion of acting by Carey Mulligan, I thought.
I don’t know this lady....but she is charming.....and her modesty is captivating.
she comes across very naturally like her acting and beauty. As for the voice :)
I think 'charisma' captures how fans endear themselves to Ms. Mulligan. Charisma isn't a thing you can manufacture. You either have it or you don't.
great Job Joe, Envy You, dream to talk to so talented Woman...

If u have really listened to what she said, u will find out what a wise and brilliant woman she is.

Well said! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The interviewer looks like he is genuinely listening! 🤍
She is a wonderful actress and so beautiful with it. I just hope that she doesn't become too Americanised in the future but whatever, I just love her
What a great interview
Carey is gorgeous.

Her face & eyes are so active and expressive. She could portray Kate Middleton in some future film.
