- HERE YOU WILL SEE THE FDNY BATTLING A MAJOR 7TH ALARM FIRE ON LIBERTY AVENUE IN THE RICHMOND HILLS AREA OF QUEENS IN NEW YORK CITY. THIS VIDEO CONTAINS FIREGROUND AUDIO. GOD BLESS THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE FDNY FOR ALL THAT THEY DO FOR US ALL YEAR ROUND! THEY ARE TRULY NEW YORK'S BRAVEST.
I've been a Volunteer for 42 years and fought some major fires . You get us right in the thick of it . Great job and now this is how I spend a Saturday night watching you footage . THANKS feel like I'm there in the action
WELL, THANK SO MUCH FOR YOUR 42 YEARS OF SERVICE TO YOUR COMMUNITIES! I AM GLAD THAT YOU CAN WATCH ON HERE AS WELL! IT MEANS A LOT TO ME! SOMETIMES IT IS BETTER THAN THE GARBAGE ON TV THESE DAYS! HEHEHE! LASTLY, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS! ;o)
THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO. I LIVE IN TRINIDAD AND MY MOM WAS IN ONE OF THE BUILDINGS SHOWN. SO I'M VERY GRATEFUL THAT SHE'S ALIVE. GOD BLESS THESE BRAVE MEN WHO RISK THEIR LIVES TO SAVE OTHERS AND MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILIES WHO WAIT AT HOME FOR YOUR SAFE RETURN. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
NICOLE, I AM HAPPY TO HEAR YOU MOM AND FAMILY OK! THINGS CAN ALWAYS BE REPLACED BUT LIFE IS VERY PRECIOUS! I AGREE WITH YOU AS FOR THE FDNY! GOD BLESS THEM AND ALL OF THE EMERGENCY SERVICES AROUND THE WORLD! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
I love the way FDNY overwhelms the fire scene with Hugh amounts of equipment and personnel along with the best trained and equipped FD in the world!!! Must be a nightmare for Chiefs to organize that much equipment and personnel into a cohesive unit. GOD BLESS FDNY!!!
THEY ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
I saw Ferran coming as well, and judging by his stare on you I figured it would be time for you to move along, but...no! That speaks volumes for whatever you have done to earn such respect from a Chief like that. Gave me goosebumps a little actually! Well done sir, well done.
WELL, I TRY HARD TO BRING OUT THE VERY BEST OF THE FDNY AND I HEAR YA! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Hey keep safe when doing this good work, never want this channel to end!
THANKS SO MUCH JASON.....
Yet another great coverage in the coldest of nights giving shots from all angles to give you a true feeling of actually being there. Well done my man and all the firefighters involved. Stay safe!!
WELL, THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS MURRAY! IT WAS A COLD NIGHT THO! ;o)
rest assured, if there is a better angle, it will be found and presented to us :)
Tttgttttuyyyyyyyyyyyyyp
Wow, Now that is just plain crazy. To have the train tracks on top of you. Can't extend the ladder trucks lifts as high as you want and the no lights in the back, and those houses right up close to that building, and to top it all off hardly any room to park those ladder trucks, no wonder it was a 7th alarm fire. Just so you know John I always try and watch your coverage of fires because you are Johnny on the spot. I watch your old videos and new ones at least once a day. Being in the hospital and or at the nursing home gives me plenty of time to do that. Since there really isn't anyone shooting Chicago fires. I am going to watch the next best thing New York, Firefighters kicking butt against HELL! Thank you John as always great job. Be safe and God Bless!
WELL, THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME TO HEAR. HOPE YOU RECOVER SOON. THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS AND SUPPORT AND GLAD YOU ENJOY THE CHANNEL! ;o)
Man, thanks for sharing this video. Brought me back a lot of memories when I use to fire buff in The Bronx back in the 1980s. This was a great video! I watched the whole thing.
SUPER COOL MICKEY! THE FIRE BUFFING BACK THEN MUST HAVE BEEN CRAZY FOR SURE! I REMEMBER RIDING THE 2 TRAIN TO SCHOOL AND SEEING 5 BUILDINGS ALL BURNING AT THE SAME TIME ALONG THAT ROUTE! ANYWAY, THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
By far some of the best I've seen from you. Keep up the good work brother!
WELL, THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Great work on booth videos. I was laying in bed monitoring this fire and couldn't get out to watch it on the satellite news feeds, I just knew you would cover it on UA-cam. Boy I didn't listen to the Hudson fire and was surprised when I saw your video you shot, GREAT job. I worry about your safety please stay safe God Bless I pray for you. Leo
WELL, GLAD I WAS ABLE TO BRING IT TO YOU LEO! BE WELL AND THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
John, You've actually inspired me to buff my first fire in over 35 years. Ii was also at the scene of this 7 alarm fire you covered here on Liberty Ave in Queens. I live in southeast Nassau county and it's at least a 30 mile drive just to the Queens county line. When I heard the deputy chief calling in alarm after alarm so quickly I knew I had to go. I arrived when the 5th alarm companies were coming in. I was hoping to run into you but I didn't because you were constantly on the move covering so many different angles. Once again an outstanding effort on your part as well as the FDNY fire fighters, EMT's and NYPD personal.
WOW! THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME! SORRY WE DID NOT RUN INTO EACH OTHER BUT MAYBE WE CAN MEET IN THE CITY ONE DAY! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND TOMMY FOR THE KIND WORDS! ;o)
JJ, you should not apologize for conditions that beyond your control. Your lens fogging up in those conditions is understood by all who watch your videos. The extreme temperatures make it very hard to do the work you do extremely hard and to it well as you do, shows well, for the large base of subscribers to your channel, speaks very well of you. Honey Bunny Petitte is certainly riding with you always in Squad 99, guiding your way. God Bless You Always, from one friend to another. :o)
OK LARRY! I JUST FEEL BAD NOT ABLE TO DELIVER THE BEST FOR YOU GUYS! I MISS HONEY FOR SURE! THANKS SO MUCH MY GOOD FRIEND! ;o)
A very stubborn fire in some very unpleasant weather but great job by FDNY getting the job done & another awesome job of getting the best available coverage by you John! Thank you for your extra effort you put forth to bring these very excellent videos! Take care & stay safe my friend !

SUPER COOL!
incredible coverage, that was one of the most intense calls I've seen in a while, listened to it all on the scanner. amazing job by New York's Bravest! stay safe out there brother!

A very large fire thank you for filming this for us. You be safe out there 🙂
YOUR WELCOME, IT WAS BIG AND THANKS SO MUCH ELIZABETH.....
Another Great Video. Thankfully no fatalities
YES AND THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
amazing how the public can stand around and watch and the cops arent getting bent outa shape
OK!
LOL
This has to be one of your best videos! What an incredibly difficult job those poor guys had trying to get water on the fire with their tower ladders so limited. Perhaps the city should rethink either allowing building so close to the el tracks or locating the el so close to buildings (not sure which came first). I have to watch this again with my headphones on to catch the radio traffic. Great work!
THE FDNY DID ONE OF IT'S BEST JOBS EVER ON THIS ONE FOR SURE! THE RELOCATING THING WOULD BE VERY HARD TO DO AND THE HOMES WERE THERE THROUGHOUT THE CITY BEFORE THE EL TRAINS CAME! THOSE TRAINS GO FOR MILES AND MILES AND MILES THRU THE ENTIRE CITY! MANY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WOULD LOOSE THEIR HOMES IN A ALREADY SHORT MARKET OF LIVING SPACE! AS FOR GETTING RID OF THE EL TRAIN THAT WOULD COST HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON THE CHEAP SIDE OF THINGS! THANKS SO MUCH JAYE! ;o)
Great video! And another job well done by the FDNY!
THANKS AND I AGREE JAKE! ;o)
Jakey Dubs aka Jake W 850-869-9675
Did you call me jAke
we came back from florida and flew into LGA last night and we put on a queens scanner and heard them strike a 7th alarm i was like oh my gosh that it happened because in new hampshire we will get a 3rd at the highest. nice vid of the fireground.
COOL! GLAD YOU GOT TO LISTEN IN! THANKS SO MUCH JACK! ;o)
Your coverage of this scene was so good. Thank you for being out in the frigid temps, getting the very best angles, & your explanations of what you see. I'm no longer physically able to be a part of a FD, so it's nice to be able to experience it through your videos. 🙂
WELL, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS AND SUPPORT! ;o)
Dude, I love how you captured the sound and how your able to get so up close and personal. The firefighter in the ladder truck at around 7:48 notices an air conditioner coming loose and immediately informs ground crew of danger. Awesome heads up.
YES INDEED.....GLAD YOU ENJOY THE VIDEOS AND CHANNEL AND OF COURSE THANKS SO MUCH.....
Great video again John. Haven't seen any flames or smoke in my town for weeks now, I envy you.
You've had a few nice fires already but this one is hugh.....
Funny to hear the radiochatter, firefighters are all the same. When you hear them shout in their radio's, you know its serious.
They had to work for their money at this one..........👍
YES, WE HAVE HAD QUITE A FEW LATELY AND YES IT IS INTERESTING TO HEAR THE RADIO CHATTER! THANKS CASEY! ;o)
John, At this very moment FDNY is battling a 2nd alarm w/two extra engines plus two extra trucks in several taxpayers on Liberty Ave very close to where this fire took place. After hearing the multiple alarms being transmitted so quickly I actually responded to this 7th alarm but I wasn't lucky enough to meet you there. Perhaps one day in the future our paths will cross. Please keep up the excellent work and most importantly stay safe.
YES, I HEAR AND THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
WOW!! N. Hudson and then this one. Fantastic coverage on both!! The N Hudson was the type of fire we usually just read about and wonder what it was like, but you put us right there. I so enjoy your dedication to your art.
WELL, I AM HAPPY THAT YOU ENJOY THE VIDEOS BILL! IT MEANS A LOT TO ME! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Awesome footage of a big one! At 15:18 when you were in the back of buildings, I heard someone calling my son to the side. You be safe!

Thanks John for braving the cold and filming such a bad fire. Hats off to you my Ice man! I praise your efforts for covering all the Angles! Paul From Orange. Ma.
I AM ALL WARMED UP NOW PAUL! HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH MY GOOD FRIEND! ;o)
Thanks for the detailed footage. I don't know what equipment you are using but you should be able to go to manual focus when you're trying to shoot through the grillwork up there on what looks like an el station. Just a suggestion.
I USE THE IPHONE 7+ THANKS AGAIN! ;o)
WOW very INTENSE and scary PRAISE those FIREFIGHTERS
I AGREE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Would like to see a description of where when why how and who. But Damn the length is awesome, that's what she said. Keep on it my friend.

Great job as always John!!! Who's the chief of 51 battalion? That man is what you would call a fireghter's firefighter! Awesome leader if I ever saw one.
I DON'T KNOW BUT THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
John, does the chafer supply the water from the truck?
And also, who are the members that don’t have fire gear in,usually shorts,do at a fire?
Thank you for all you do, I really have learned a lot from your video’s!
Please be careful out there,we don’t want anything to happen to you, ok?
Love from Maryland
THE GUYS WITH THE SORTS ARE THE CHAUFFERS WHO ARE THE GUYS WHO SUPPLY THE ENGINES AT FIRES SCENES.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
amazing work bro! just happily subscribed to your channel
THANKS VERY MUCH! ;o)
Something told me to come over to your channel and catch a biggy catch by you JJ, 7 Alarm is nothing short of the biggest thus far in 2017, and in my birth neighborhood, damn, I got homily nearby in Greenwood cemetery So far they are having a tussle with thiis one, with the main part of the fire in that center section of the buildings. As stated bygunvald833, the EL does give you better advantage at seeing the fire at a different level, and that Tower Basket seems to be getting a good use of it's hose. Keep up the Fantastic video's JJ, you is the best of the best in this area of Fire Videos, always superb material! :o)
YES, I TRIED TO GET AS MANY ANGLES AND FOOTAGE FOR YOU ALL! GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT LARRY! THANKS MY FRIEND! ;o)
Who's got better than you? You have a front row seat. I'm glad for you that the FDNY recognize your great work.
IT IS NICE AND THANKS AGAIN PHIL! ;o)
Great job John, a hard place to get to the fire, the fire fighters deserve credit for a job well done under the condition of cold weather, etc.
YES, I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! o)
I'm curious, what are they doing/cutting with the saws? Great video!
THEY ARE CUTTING THE LOCKS TO THE GATES ON THE STORE AND SIDEWALK CELLAR ENTRANCES! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
CONGRATS ON 20k !!!! been here since 1k
WOW! I DID NOT EVEN KNOW! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT! ;o)
very amazing video my friend
THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
That was one tough fire for them to battle. Bless them all
YES IT WAS YVONNE! THANKS! ;o)
This footage was amazing- are you used to the smoke now as I never heard you cough with all that fire and smoke
I AM VERY USE TO THE SMOKE NOW MIKE! HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Incredibly difficult fire scene, with that elevated line running right down the street.
Great footage, John.
YES, I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH.....
Question: I'm fro the UK so don't understand what is meant by "7th Alarm". Does that refer to the number of stations that fire trucks come from? Thank you for sharing :)
IT MEANS THE NUMBERS OF ALARMS THE FIRE IS. EACH ALARM BRINGS A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF FIREFIGHTERS AND FIRE APPARATUS TO THE FIRE.
Wow! It's a really hard fire! Super scene video JJ! ;-)👍 God bless FDNY !
YES AND THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
You're welcome JJ! ;-)
Great job...up close and personal....
THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND JERRY! ;o)
Crazy footage!!!
THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
"let me see if I can find my angle"......2 minutes later and your on the front lines, that's awesome!!!!! This video and the one just last week of the church fire where the steeple feel are by far your best work, keep it up!!!!!
WELL, I TRY TO GET YOU GUYS THE BEST I CAN JOHN! HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Like here is one: it says "a 3-11box alarm" and another one says "a 2-11 box alarm" What do these numbers stand for? It seems to always be a number and then the 11. Thanks. Jerry
THE LOCATION AND AREA OF THE CALL.....THANKS SO MUCH JERRY! ;o)
Good Job!
THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
At 4:57, Somehow because of the lights and the underside of the "EL", it feels like a movie set.
YEAH, I HEAR YA! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Wow, Joseph great video!! You were a trooper for staying out there in the freezing cold.
WELL, THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Is this fire contained in. Attic, crawl space or between walls?
another good coverage🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒
THANKS AGAIN! ;o)
At 4:23 I saw Chief Ferran take a long look at you, then decide that you're OK to be in the fire scene. Are you wearing some credentials, or are you just that well known in the dept now? Pretty cool!
WELL, BOTH! THANKS SO MUCH ;o)
I have seen four videos from you today and I love them all💟 I wondering everytimes how you can get so close to the scenes of this fires in NYC and how you managing the smoke inhalation during this times, because I have Asthma and for me it is absolutely forbidden to go in this kind of places to see what is going on there. I am also a little bit shocked about the lack of fire protection built-in into this houses and apartment complexes in the whole USA! Here in Munich Germany I witnessed by myself in a neighbors apartment in a nine story building a fatal fire which costs the life of the owner but the other apartments above and under this burned out apartment where, except of water damages still okay so the people could stay in this apartments and after a few weeks that apartment which was burned out completely got a new owner and nothing from the fire stood back! I think the USA should copy the german fire protection rules for all buildings and houses to protect the people in case of a fire like this one! But for this very gorgeous and fascinating video I say thank you very much and stay safe and sound and take care of you💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
WELL, IF THERE IS NOT POLICE OR FIRE LINE YOU CAN FILM! AS FOR THE APARTMENT STUFF I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THAT WORKS! THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS!
When the fire gets out of control all the fire suppression in the world wouldn't do anything.
YES, I AGREE DAVID! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
THEMAJESTIRIUM1 the only thing that's gonna stop the fire is the FDNY
+Sarah I V Sutter. I agree fully. Here in the UK, we have similar building regulations to Germany and so fires are far better contained. It seems as if the loft areas of buildings in the US run right along a terrace and the residential areas above shops interconnect. The lower electrical voltage in the US also doubles the current in cables and causes a lot of fires. Needless to say, covering the entire outside of a building with flammable cladding and installing it without intumescent barriers has proven to be another recipe for disaster. Hopefully Germany will learn from our complacency.
Great idea going up on the el, your videos are so well done, best wishes
THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Wow !!!! How long do it take the FDNY to put the fire out.
QUITE A WHILE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
nice video dude
THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
How did 143 park under the EL and still manage to put there ladder up? Amazing!
I KNOW RIGHT! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
I know, FDNY the bravest, the greatest.... It just seems like vent the hell out of it and save the cellar.
COOL AND THANKS SO MUCH.....
I saw someone fix it back is that great because there making a new store! Even though my dad saw it on Facebook
I AM NOT SURE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
I live 2 streets away from the fire I was very suspicious until I see 900 firefighters
OK.
I've seen this video before and I still don't know why they put above ground Metro so close to buildings to where if the buildings catch fire your tower ladders, tillers, and ladder trucks can't be fully used as intended.
I KNOW JOSEPH.....DIFFICULT LOCATION INDEED! THANKS SO MUCH.....
I will second newsworking. You are getting better and better at what you do! Stay safe laddie!
THANKS SO MUCH ED! ;o)
Roman Bellic's appartement? :)
WHAT?
Any idea why they don't cut electricity to the structures immediately upon arrival? Seems so dangerous to be pouring water and pulling down ceilings etc. Here in rural WI they pull the breaker on the pole on arrival.
SOME OF THE ELECTRICITY WAS ALREADY CUT OFF IN MANY OF THE BUILDING BY THE FIREFIGHTERS THEMSELVES AND CON EDISON! THANKS AGAIN JAYE! ;o)
I know here in PA we have to request the power company to shut it off, we can't do it ourselves (us pulling the meter is no longer accepted). There have been times it takes a good 1-2 hours for them to show up. Not sure how it works in NYC with everything being underground.
WELL, AS I SAID ABOVE TO JAYE THE FDNY MEMBERS CAN CUT IT OFF AT THE BOXES! IMAGINE IF THAT WERE NOT THE CASE THE WHOLE ENTIRE BLOCK AND EVEN THE EL SUBWAY WOULD BE GONE TODAY! CON EDISON TAKES A WHILE HERE TO! THANKS BEN! :o)
look like the area i was live before
OK.....
This is Liberty ave in the south part of Queens In NYC, not far from JFK airport, it is largely Guyanese , Caribbean community.
YES INDEED! I KNOW THE AREA WELL! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
People have a natural fascination with fire. It's a shame the El was in the way here, they really could have used the towers above the structures.
PERHAPS.....
More great footage as always! You've certainly been kept busy over the last few nights!
OH GOSH! I NEED A VACATION! HAVE NOT HAD A REAL ONE IN 9 YEARS! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
As usual JJ, always finding the best angle. Hope you warmed up once getting back to your vehicle.
I DID WARM UP IN THE CAR! HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
another awesome video, right where the action is!! you never disappoint, my friend! great work!!
WELL, THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
How many companies response to this assignment?
A LOT!
Looks like one nasty fire, how did it escalate so quickly?
I AM NOT SURE! SORRY!
Takes some major Brave just to work on that ice. Good job. As a former Queens resident though, I just gotta know. Did any of the Wines and Liquors survive? I think every man on that job deserves a snort on the house.
I DON'T THINK IT DID! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Bummer...Now I really hate fires.
HAHA! I HEAR YA! THANKS! ;o)
the apartment fire
WHAT APARTMENT FIRE! THERE ARE SO MANY FIRES???????????????????????????????????
I found out about the blaze last Sunday thru my friend who has a radio programme. I don't live too far from this, n it's sad because I've traversed liberty ace from this end to the other by Singh's roti n such. Sending Vaheguru jis guidance to these families in hopes they can rebuild their lives and businesses. My heart is with them.
YES, IT WAS BAD AND I HOPE THEY RECOVER SOON TOO! THANK YOU! ;o)
