Yesterday only, SNMPv3 discovery issue of ISE in HP NMMI got resolved.. Instead of Remote Engine ID (42 Hex Characters) we used Hex value of Local Engine ID in SNMP Host command and issue got resolved.
How and where did you find your Engine ID number for the PowerSNMP, it seems simple but got lost when you supplied an engine ID number but didn't know where to locate it?
Hey, take a look at 4:48 the engine ID is shown but you will need to translate it to HEX for power SNMP. You can do this with an online calculator. Hope that helps.
@@NetworkWizkid isn't the engine ID different for each install? How and where did that engine ID come from and where do you find it in PowerSNMP? I saw it in the video but I'm Wonder how was it located to begin with?
@@24ksportfishing When you issue the show command then you will see it. Each Engine ID should be different so it's worth checking your ISE node. In terms of the Engine ID in PowerSNMP, I believe I calculated that with an HEX calculator prior to doing the video. Hope that helps.
@@NetworkWizkid I finally found the Engine ID which PowerSNMP calls the Authoritative Engine.... Found by going to Tools/configuration/configure Authoritative Engine Boom Thanks I know how to get the ISE IDs but was looking to get PowerSNMP, I appreciate it
ISE cannot be used as an SNMP server. You can however enable SNMP for profiling; see more here: community.cisco.com/t5/security-knowledge-base/ise-profiling-design-guide/ta-p/3739456#toc-hId-790343135

Thank you for letting me know and I'm glad it's working for you.
Hey, How about the snmp trap configuration. Is it mandatory to configure the snmp trap in ISE box.
If you want to send events as well as polling then yes.

@@24ksportfishing Good news! Thanks for watching :-)

You could use a HEX calculator.
