Hello! I've just shared an updated video for 2024, the *only* video you need to watch to get a 99 ATAR + free resources! ua-cam.com/video/VIDpX0k9BeU/v-deo.htmlsi=VSNcOHSjojqdgq0k
Omg please do a video on every individual subject , out of all the study videos ive seen, you probably gave the best advice and tips I would love to see the way you studied for business and legal
Thank you so much for this! Attaining a high ATAR this year is really important to me and hearing you also undertook 10 units and did 4U English is awesome to hear! I would really love a video on how you studied for each subject, especially legal studies as well as Extension 1 and 2 English which I struggle to maintain motivated with. :-)
All my friends got around 99.7, 99.4 and 98.9 or 98+ in general... they continually bashed me for getting 93 ATAR cuz I didnt study at all. I had state league soccer training and games, self teaching guitar, drawing, triathlons and half marathons to do. So the only advice I can give is to finish as much work in class as you can like homework or online quizzes. At least, that’s what I did then just do my hobbies/training when I get home. Edit: You can substitute the hobbies sometimes for study time like exams when needed and having that freedom is really nice to have
Miss M I just finish all the homework in class or at breaks like in lunch or whenever I have free time in school so that I don’t have to worry about it after. Then I just do the stuff I want :)
Miss M well if I know a major exam is coming up I do skip a few days of training to study. I keep my hobbies as a way for me to relax too. Like if I have a week left before an exam, I dont train and just purely study. Then I take like an hour break to eat a snack and mess around with my guitar for a bit too. Then go back to like 6 hours of studying
Can you do one for legal? I have a terrible teacher and i need to top the subject. I usually get a- or a and i wanna know how to get that extra bit to get a+ consistently
Thank you so much for sharing your tips!! Even though your normal videos are so good too. I would really appreciate the subject specific videos, especially for maths!
Did you have a job or any extra-curriculars during your hsc year and if so how did you balance them? Would really love to hear your tips/advice on this x
Yes that would be a great idea and very helpful, please do a video on how to study for every subject especially english advanced, business, legal and math :)) thank you so much!
How did you organise your school work and notes? Do you prefer to use note books or loose leaf? I’m currently in year 11 and I feel super unorganised! Also did you type all your study notes for every subject? Thank you so much for this video, so helpful !!
I brought loose leaf papers to school and only used them for maths. As for other subjects I typed everything! I added relevant content into my own notes under the appropriate syllabus dot points. In Year 11, I found it was harder to be organised because there wasn’t a structure to go by (as there is in Year 12 with the syllabus). I’m glad you found it helpful! Xx
@@ChantelleRalev My notes are everywhere because for some subjects, my teacher gives my handouts as well as online worksheets so i don't know where everything is! I'm thinking of switching to loose leaf papers but such in a dilemma right now :/ Also one more question, when you said that you completed your study notes before the term begun, did you do your notes for all the syllabus dot points for every subject during the holidays and free time using mainly your textbooks??!!! Thanks heaps!
Hello beautiful people! I posted two updated videos going into detail on how I studied for each subject! WATCH PART 1 HERE ua-cam.com/video/ldxGITFXe84/v-deo.html
Hi just wondering if you can do a report card reveal because i am in first term of year 11 in Australia and I'm not sure what reporting is like/ what grades are required for a 90+ ATAR
Hey, I’m a year 11 student who’s struggling a lot with the subjects. I was wondering if you minded to share your notes with me. Are you able to share them with us?
Do you thinks it’s necessary to go to tuition for subjects such as maths and English to do well?? Btw love your videos and I would really love it if you could do individual videos for your subjects :)))
Absolutely not! I know of a lot of students who got tutoring for most subjects. It's definitely not necessary (I didn't get tutoring!) It's all about putting in the work yourself. I found that some students who did relied so much on their tutors, they actually didn't try themselves. Obviously that's the minority, but you really don't need it to do well. Take advantage of the means you have available to you. Visit your teachers, ask for their advice, do past papers and look at the online solutions. Trust me, if you put in the work, you'll get the outcome you deserve. And thank you! I'm glad you like them xx
I usually just added the notes I made in class to my already made notes on my laptop. Often the teacher just went through the textbook anyway, so there wasn’t that much new information. Hope that helps!
It’s very true! And a lovely personality ❤️🥰 What are you going on to do? Will you become a lawyer? Barrister? Something along those lines. ?🤷♀️👍 It’s funny because I was watching your video for study ideas as I have 4 boys my eldest is 19.5 yrs he’s at uni, doing neuropsychology and the others are 8-6 and 4, my 4 yr olds at kinder and goes to school next year, I was hoping it’s time for me to do something I love, and study something in nutrition and health (plant based) I’m obsessed about it and read a lot of books, I was worried though if I went to study I wouldn’t do well as I left school before I had my 19yr old in yr 11. But fingers crossed 🤞🤣😳 Your personality radiates happiness 👍 all the best in what you choose to do! You can do absolutely anything! The world is your oyster!! ❤️🌹 🌍
OO I have a question!! So every single night, I am given around 4 hours worth of homework, by the time I complete it, shower and have dinner, it’s nearly 9-10pm and there’s no time for studying. I’m 9 weeks into the semester, and I have not studied once because school is not giving me the time too!!! What do you suggest I do??? Like legal for example, the teacher does not let us take notes in class or do any of the textbook activities in class, instead we just go through PowerPoints. And at home she expects us to do around 15 detailed responses to chapter questions (answering every question for each sub chapter) and then taking down the notes off her powerpoints (which we are not allowed to do in class), PowerPoints have around 60 slides. So I am expected to do ALL of that in one night, every night, ontop of my 4 other subjects and then trying to fit in study?? What do I do
I'm going to be completely honest with you. I only did the homework I thought was actually going to be helpful to my performance in exams. For some subjects, such as Maths, homework is absolutely necessary! Without it you can't go on to doing Past Papers because you don't know the basics. But in other subjects, I picked what homework I did. Perhaps I sound like a "bad" student, but I just knew what worked for me. In this instance your teacher obviously wants their students to do well and hence they are giving you so much work! Prepare your notes for Legal Studies ahead of time and then all you need to do is compare the class PPTS with your own notes at the end of the day. It honestly won't be that time consuming! The fact they are not allowing you to type the notes in class is actually more beneficial! It means you are forced to pay attention and learn (not such a bad thing!). In terms of writing responses to chapter questions, it really depends on whether you believe it to be valuable study. Personally I never did chapter questions because I would much rather answer HSC questions which modelled what I would receive in the Trials and HSC. Obviously its your discretion, and its up to you to decide what works. Homework is a form of study if you are on top of your work and can treat it in that way. For example, if you've done your legal notes then the Chapter questions can be a way for you to practice responding to questions. Hope that helps! xx
Chantelle Ralev This helped me so much, and I clearly understand now! Thank you for that. I definitely need to find exam questions, because there is not many VCE ones. The thing with the homework set at my school, is every little thing set is a work requirement in order to pass the unit. And that’s what stresses me out and puts pressure on me, because if all this ‘unnecessary’ homework (which does not benefit me) is a work requirement, then I have to be doing it. A lot of the time I feel like the homework they set is a waste of my time, where I could be revising over notes and doing actual practice exam questions!
Aw hope it went well if you had your HSC already! If you only just started Year 12 I did upload an updated tips video for all the subjects. I'll link it for you! ua-cam.com/video/dYW7q8Rq3m0/v-deo.html
Gees those are such weird subject choices. Must be different in the eastern states, but here in Perth, all the 99 ATAR kids pretty much HAVE to do Math specialist ATAR, Math Methods ATAR, English ATAR, Chemistry ATAR and Physics ATAR.
For us the subject choice doesn’t matter all that much, as long as you do well in what you chose! I’ve known students who have gotten 99 and done drama, art etc!

The homework isn’t graded for us but it’s a nice way of remembering stuff
Falter 14 yes but I feel like if you have a 3-5 hour maths exam a little bit of homework isn’t going to cut it
