Angelina and her closest, decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible. Even when she won NGT, 8 years old, many wanted to sign a contract. Everyone was dismissed! Even Disney. When it comes to the actual training and choice of songs etc., it has always been Angelina who made all the choices and decisions. This was the first video I watched by Angelina so it has a special place in my heart. I was born the same year as Michael Jackson (RIP) who had his first hit with the Jackson 5 at age 11. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at age 8 and was giving 14 song concerts at age 11. I will always be a fan of Michael's music and wish he was still with us so he could sing with Angelina.

Cap, we wouldn't steer you wrong! So glad you did this one. The other one I recommended was when she was 10 yrs old at home sitting in a chair singing 'My Funny Valentine'. She shifted gears when she hit 10 and reached another level. To answer some of your questions, first of all she was 8 when she did this. Her grandma (they are inseparable) liked jazz and Angelina warmed up to the sound of jazz when she was a toddler. Training? She did go to the prestigious Oslo Waldorf School in Norway to receive training vocally and to learn how to play various instruments at a "very early age". The teachers were amazed how she sang and told her parents there was nothing they could teach her vocally. In fact, they told her mom Angelina could qualify as an instructor herself! When she was 8 and after she won Norway's Got Talent, she came to the USA to appear on the tv show, 'The View'. Rosie O'Donnell was the host and before Angelina sang 'Fly Me To The Moon' (with only a guitar player backing her up) they had a short interview. Rosie asked her when did she start to sing. Angelina paused for a second or two and then answered, "When I was 1 and 1/2." Rosie and the audience were in shock. She then asked Angelina if she remembered what was the first song she sang. Angelina paused again for a second and then answered, "Jazz." Cap, you said there was something about her that never changed through the years and it was her mature sounding voice. Yes, and there is something else I would like you to take note of. From the age of 6 all the way to the present day (16 yrs old) she has remained a very humble, caring and loving person and you can feel the goodness in her when she sings. In the background you can see Fredriksten Fortress. In the woods, just behind the stage, on 30 november 1718 the Swedish king Karl XII was killed during the siege of the fortress (probably by a bullet shot from the fortress but there are also some theories that he was murdered by one of his own). Suspicious Minds is age 16. She does not turn 17 until January 2023. Her grandparents played jazz vinyls for her from infancy on. I think they lived in the family home, so it was easy and natural. In any case, they were very involved in her life. In preschool, she did NOT want to sing the pablum given to the kids to sing. She wanted to sing real music, challenging music, including all of the jazz she was hearing. Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, "Screaming" Jay Hawkins, Nina Simone, etc. There is a short video of Angelina at 18 mos. holding a mike to sing a Whitney Houston chorus phrase. There is a sense the girl came to sing and was born into the right family for the encouragement and development of her gift. At 16 yo, she is a highly developed musician, in the sense of understanding composition and arrangement, as well as being a vocalist. She was allowed to play and explore her instrument as an approach to developing it alongside more traditional training. No one was allowed to train her out of her natural gift. So, she's a gem, and 16 years of music under her belt already. Her talent is recognized by Quincy Jones, for whom she performed in Europe, and under whom she has received some mentorship. She credits him as one of her favorite influencers. One of the judges for Norway's Got Talent was Omer, a longtime friend of the Jackson family. She didn’t have any training, she went to vocal school when she was 5 or 6 and they told her mother they couldn’t teach her anything. Just like Elvis, it’s a gift, he never had a singing lesson in his life. I don’t know whether she works with anyone now or not but when she was young, it was all her. You just can’t teach someone to do what she was able to do from the age of 1 1/2 years old. She has also done all her own arrangements from the age of three so you’re looking at a musical savant. If after listening to this wonder, and the unspeakable 'I put a spell on you' (I would add humiliating for any singer past and present), we continue to compare her with other singers, it means that we are blind, or worse still, deaf, to this girl you can't compare her to anyone. Due to her youth, it may be inevitable to hear Amy's vib, compare her octaves with Whitney or her precocity with Michael, but it's time to get used to the fact that she only sounds like Angelina Jordan, her supernatural talent, her amazing maturity at such a young age, it is comparable to nothing or anyone I have ever heard. I don't know how far she would go in her career, her possibilities are endless, she could sing the phone book a cappella, without the need for music, and it would leave us speechless, but reaching the top means hitting the right songs that seduce the general public, and the quality is not exactly what stands out most now on the hit lists.

Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Influences include Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Diana Washington, Adele, Frank Sinatra, Amy Winehouse, Lana del Rey, and many more. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. Angelina and her closest, decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible. Even when she won NGT, 8 years old, many wanted to sign a contract. Everyone was dismissed! Even Disney. When it comes to the actual training and choice of songs etc., it has always been Angelina who made all the choices and decisions. Parents and others, on the other hand, have asked her to take it a little easier sometimes. Angelina is very special and her own driving force. Ever since she was 3-4 years old! This was the first video I watched by Angelina so it has a special place in my heart. I was born the same year as Michael Jackson (RIP) who had his first hit with the Jackson 5 at age 11. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at age 8 and was giving 14 song concerts at age 11. I will always be a fan of Michael's music and wish he was still with us so he could sing with Angelina.

Cap, we wouldn't steer you wrong! So glad you did this one. The other one I recommended was when she was 10 yrs old at home sitting in a chair singing 'My Funny Valentine'. She shifted gears when she hit 10 and reached another level.
To answer some of your questions, first of all she was 8 when she did this. Her grandma (they are inseparable) liked jazz and Angelina warmed up to the sound of jazz when she was a toddler. Training? She did go to the prestigious Oslo Waldorf School in Norway to receive training vocally and to learn how to play various instruments at a "very early age". The teachers were amazed how she sang and told her parents there was nothing they could teach her vocally. In fact, they told her mom Angelina could qualify as an instructor herself!
When she was 8 and after she won Norway's Got Talent, she came to the USA to appear on the tv show, 'The View'. Rosie O'Donnell was the host and before Angelina sang 'Fly Me To The Moon' (with only a guitar player backing her up) they had a short interview. Rosie asked her when did she start to sing. Angelina paused for a second or two and then answered, "When I was 1 and 1/2." Rosie and the audience were in shock. She then asked Angelina if she remembered what was the first song she sang. Angelina paused again for a second and then answered, "Jazz."
Cap, you said there was something about her that never changed through the years and it was her mature sounding voice. Yes, and there is something else I would like you to take note of. From the age of 6 all the way to the present day (16 yrs old) she has remained a very humble, caring and loving person and you can feel the goodness in her when she sings. 6. At five tells her mother she wants to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent but is told she must be seven.
7. At six she enters sound booth for the first time and records four songs, Rolling In The Deep, Hurt, Sky Fall, and most notably I Who Have Nothing, which is where you should start.

Angelina taught herself how to sing, beginning at 2-3 years old. This is at the TV show "Allsang på grensen" (Sing-along at the border) in Halden, Norway, near the border to Sweden where Angelina sang two song this summer, 16 years old. In the background you can see Fredriksten Fortress. In the woods, just behind the stage, on 30 november 1718 the Swedish king Karl XII was killed during the siege of the fortress (probably by a bullet shot from the fortress but there are also some theories that he was murdered by one of his own). This was the beginning of the decline of Sweden as a super power in the Baltic region.

Shocking isn't it? Wonder what the back up singers were thinking. At 8 years old she performed on many stages in Europe, Asia and North and South America mostly for children's charity events where she helped raise millions. She performed for world leaders including President Obama. She performed "What A Wonderful World" at the Nobel Peace Prize concert in front of winner Malala and the Crown Prince of Norway for the Save The Children charity. She acted as a nightclub singer on the Netflix series "Lilyhammer" after being discovered by Steven Van Zandt, guitarist for Bruce Springsteen and star of the show. Suspicious Minds is age 16. She does not turn 17 until January 2023. Her grandparents played jazz vinyls for her from infancy on. I think they lived in the family home, so it was easy and natural. In any case, they were very involved in her life. In preschool, she did NOT want to sing the pablum given to the kids to sing. She wanted to sing real music, challenging music, including all of the jazz she was hearing. Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, "Screaming" Jay Hawkins, Nina Simone, etc. There is a short video of Angelina at 18 mos. holding a mike to sing a Whitney Houston chorus phrase. There is a sense the girl came to sing and was born into the right family for the encouragement and development of her gift. At 16 yo, she is a highly developed musician, in the sense of understanding composition and arrangement, as well as being a vocalist. She was allowed to play and explore her instrument as an approach to developing it alongside more traditional training. No one was allowed to train her out of her natural gift. So, she's a gem, and 16 years of music under her belt already. Her talent is recognized by Quincy Jones, for whom she performed in Europe, and under whom she has received some mentorship. She credits him as one of her favorite influencers. One of the judges for Norway's Got Talent was Omer, a longtime friend of the Jackson family. But other than the basics she did not have specific vocal training. She absorbed this all herself immersing herself in Jazz on U-Tube from the age of 3 yrs old. Her family recognized the uniqueness of her voice and abilities and did not want to mess with it. This is all Angelina. She has chosen everything she does and has had a part if not total control of the arrangements from this same age.

She didn’t have any training, she went to vocal school when she was 5 or 6 and they told her mother they couldn’t teach her anything. Just like Elvis, it’s a gift, he never had a singing lesson in his life. I don’t know whether she works with anyone now or not but when she was young, it was all her. You just can’t teach someone to do what she was able to do from the age of 1 1/2 years old. She has also done all her own arrangements from the age of three so you’re looking at a musical savant. Plays piano and guitar and at one time flute and violin also, though not recently. Has original music and a first album due sometime soon. Being 16 at the present time, she is basically still a child although she looks like a beautiful young lady. She needs a hit record and then it’s look out world!

If after listening to this wonder, and the unspeakable 'I put a spell on you' (I would add humiliating for any singer past and present), we continue to compare her with other singers, it means that we are blind, or worse still, deaf, to this girl you can't compare her to anyone. Due to her youth, it may be inevitable to hear Amy's vib, compare her octaves with Whitney or her precocity with Michael, but it's time to get used to the fact that she only sounds like Angelina Jordan, her supernatural talent, her amazing maturity at such a young age, it is comparable to nothing or anyone I have ever heard. I don't know how far she would go in her career, her possibilities are endless, she could sing the phone book a cappella, without the need for music, and it would leave us speechless, but reaching the top means hitting the right songs that seduce the general public, and the quality is not exactly what stands out most now on the hit lists.

Angelina is absolutely great, no question about it. But Captain, as a military man you really, really should check out the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. They make music about military history and they are dead serious about their subject matter, so much so that they have their own military history channel on UA-cam (Sabaton History).
