I thought Samurai Shodown V only had dialogues in the jp version. Do you mind to tell what version are you playing, if possible? I,m very interested to follow the SSV story 😁
Weirdly, only the xbox/ps2 releases of SSV in 2006 received a full official English translation but fortunately it can be played using FinalBurnAlpha and selecting the xbox version from the SSV rom list.

Ah the old issen move. Couple of requirements: First, you must have lost one round. Second, your health must be so low as to be colored blue. Then, to access the 'state of nothingness'/time slow, you need to input [down, back, C+D] and then you can perform the overkill/issen by pressing B+C+D. Also you can basically use time slow earlier and for a longer duration, if you meditate by pressing D.
