Just picked up a Kenevo Expert, your videos helped me make the decision, every shop kept telling me to go for the levo but being a mx/offroad guy I love the dual crown (triple clamp) upfront, feel right at home and gives me the confidence to drop into things i wouldn't on a levo. Absolutely love it 😎
Glad you like the video! I am 6'2" and 190 lbs. My '22 Kenevo Expert is S4 frame size. I had a '22 Levo S4 which is about 480mm reach which felt great on the tighter slow trails but not so comfy on faster stuff. My '21 Tazer MX Pro is XL so 505mm reach and my Trek Rail 9.7 Gen 2 is 495mm reach and both felt better overall for me so when I ordered my '22 Kenevo I went for S4 which was 500mm reach. Now the stack is low on the Kenevo so I went with 40mm rise Renthal bars. I am a moto guy at heart so I tend to like higher stack and longer reach. The Kenevo is such a plush and absorbing bike - the bumps disappear and it has the fully tunable Brose motor which is also silent and a 700Wh battery that lasts forever. Fun bike!
There are some really good discounts on the higher end e-MTB's now. My '22 Kenevo Expert original MSRP was $9000...now on sale for $5800. Specialized Turbo Levo Alloy on sale for $5625, Turbo Levo Carbon for $5000. Trek has many e-MTBs on sale also. Intense has $1000 off any of their Tazer e-MTB bikes. I know $5000 is still a lot of money but much better than what these bikes were going for 2 years ago.
Good video! Looking at buying either a turbo Levo comp or tazer Mx pro (600 less at 4999). If you had to pick one which would you choose? Old Moto guy here
The Specialized Turbo Levo Comp has the Brose motor with belt - very quiet and no lash. Specialized Mission Control app allows for tuning of the motor characteristics and I think the Comp comes with the 700Wh battery otherwise the 500Wh. The Tazer MX Pro (mine at least) came with full Ohlins suspension (the Ohlins forks are very very good and spring shock is plush). The Shimano EP8 motor responsive and has some tuning options with the Shimano tuning app and also has gear lash and rattle noise (noticeable but not a deal breaker for me though some riders don't like it). The Tazer MX Pro also has a 500Wh battery - some riders can drain the battery though it has enough range for me and is held low in the frame). I give the "moto" feel edge to the Tazer MX Pro for the Renthal bars, dual crown Ohlins forks, and Magura brakes. Bike is also fairly lightweight (51 lbs) and feels light in motion since the battery weight is low. Both are great bikes - no wrong choice! Let me know which one you pick. Tazer MX Pro for $4999...that is a smoking good deal!
According to Google translate your question: "What bike is the best of 2? What are the components etc etc"....The Tazer has a smaller/lighter battery held low in downtube and full carbon frame so the bike is lighter (perhaps 1.5~1.8 kgs) and feels lighter in motion. The Tazer has 29" front/27.5" rear wheels ("Mullet") so has a more of a motocross dirt bike feel. The Kenevo has 180mm of suspension travel so feels more plush and absorbing on all bumps and the front 27.5" wheel gives the bike a smaller overall feel. The Brose motor in the Kenevo is quieter and smoother and easily tuneable with the Mission Control app and the 700Wh battery offers plenty of range. Pick the e-MTB characteristics that are most important to you. I'd give a slight edge to the Kenevo due to the longer riding range of the 700Wh battery.
I have a couple hundred miles and some hard riding on this Tazer MX Pro and my buddy now owns my previous Tazer Expert and has about 500 miles on that bike and no crank issues on either so far.
Those are aluminum Renthal handlebars, 40mm rise. I really like One-Up carbon bars - very compliant and bump absorbing. I used the aluminum Renthal on the Kenevo for added toughness as my son does some big jumping and I get a little nervous about carbon bars breaking. Do you have carbon Renthal bars and if so how do they work?
