S.G.Mangalamurthy my maternal uncle was an accomplished piano accordian player. He was the first and sole artiste in the south Indian cine field for over 3 decades.. In Christian music world his BGM score for 12 songs of FMPB produced in the LongPlay in the year 1975 was a mega hit even in neighbouring countries viz Srilanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Mauritius . The other accordian artistes Ben Surendar and KJJoy who joined the industry in late 70s , couldnt stand anywhere close to him in playing this beautiful instrument. In this Song of Pastor Vincent Samuel it is sad to observe that he was not given adequate space to show his outstanding performance. S G Mangalamurthy died in the year 1986 due to a massive heart attack. He had appeared in the famous MGR movie Thirudathey. He is seen on full screen playing accordian for Thangavel's Rock and Roll genre song "kannum kannum paadudhu". He also played on screen in other movies like Thilagam, Nichaya thamboolam etc showcasing his powerful and skillful playing of this wonderful wind instrument. I miss him and his outstanding playing. I couldn't see anyone playing like him ever after. Well he didn't have any issue to inherit his rare skill and style. With him his rare skill also was gone and now Piano Accordian is rare having been replaced by the Electronic Key board and therefore I don't get to see any one playing this instrument like my uncle using both the main keys on the right and the bass keys on the left in the bellows. .
He is also uncle for me. I am the son of Late. Mrs .kamalini samuel dasarpuram . Thiruninravur. Mrs Emily Schwartz, was my mother's aunt. Mr.mangala moorthy is my maternal uncle too. The matters mentioned above by bro.sunderraj is quite right. Where r u residing presently bro?

In early 90's this song was ruling the the air from the 1000s of Tirunelveli Diocese's Church tower through Ahuja cone speakers. Now we have privillage to hear in a better clarity. Way back only Flute, Tabela and Sasirekha Akka's voice used to melt me away. At the age of 7, not knowing the meaning I have cried many times while hearing this song.
