Be careful when booking Airbnb, don't let photos fool you and take some time to read the reviews! I once booked a place in Italy, the guy seemed very friendly in his messages however once I got there he informed me that his last guests broke the guest bed so he had it removed but I could sleep in his bed with him. I was a 20-something male at the time and I'm straight so this was unsettling to hear. He then told me one of his favourite activities is cuddling so he would probably grab me during the night. I nope'd the hell out of there so fast and was fortunate enough to find a lovely host elsewhere on short notice. He clearly had no guest room and was using the app to to lure young men to his home.

If you had an experience like this, would you joke with it? If this happened to him IRL, that would just be messed up. Considering the fact that he JUST met him, which is gonna be weird to just "magically" date someone you just met. Hell- I hope you mature quicker, seems like you'll be needing it.
That third story really gave me chills! Especially the part when the clicking sound came from the closet.

Story 2 was one of the scariest I’ve heard on this channel. Something about off grid airbnbs you know nobody is out there so when you hear humanoid noises you know they probably wanna do things way worse than just a robbery.

i always wonder how some people are so comfortable going tent camping or staying in random cabins in the middle of nowhere with big windows. The horror lover in me wants to try it at least once, maybe for the adrenaline. But it would definetly be terrifying at night

I've been tent camping all my life so I know the different sounds of the forest at night and what they are and aren't. You get to the point that you can tell if it's a deer or raccoon or whatever from the way it walks. Stop being a sissy.
I've done it. I live in the mountains so the window thing is an ordinary day. Camping isn't that big of a deal but it can be uncomfortable if you don't bring what you need. It's not my favorite.
There's nothing scary about tent camping and I say this as a person who has lived both in small towns and downtown in major international cities. If you want to try do something like a KOA campground first they're never very remote and there are other people around and everybody there reserves their campsite in advance. I have also camped in national forests where you just pull off a highway, drive down a forest road and camp at any site that's free but there's no record of who stays there.

Yes!! It’s always unsettling unless I’m with like a group of 5+ which is the way to go. I hate knowing someone else knows the place better than I do. Every broken lock, door, creak of the floorboards. I’m at a disadvantage. Ive never stayed at an air bnb and felt comfortable, especially at those homey suburban/country ones. I just do not belong lol but sometimes you need a cheap place to stay 😭😭 I always feel like it’s a gamble

The 2nd story really put me on edge! Thanks to Mr. Nightmare's story telling and the sound effects he used, I could really feel the tension. My soul would have left my body if put in that situation
As a non-believer in the paranormal, i find videos like these far creepier and distressful than anything paranormal and likely more dangerous. The second story is disturbing to say the least and since most of us would never even come with such a *genius* idea even if its only intend is to be some kind of harmless but disgustingly sick joke to freak someone out.
It brings the question : *what is f-ing wrong with some people* and makes you genuinely curious as of what's in some people mind and the way they see things. How do they find it normal to approach someones house, trespass into their privacy and harass them in such a disrespectful and disturbing manner or even worse, threatening their lives.
Even if I WANTED to harass someone like that, I would have no idea how since the actual act of being there outside, in a vulnerable position myself, would be too dangerous for me to be in. Like some people just don’t care about their own well-being man, simple as that. They’re like I’m willing to risk my own self for the cost of tormenting others… nah in that case I’m straight lol

If i were to trespass on someones property to harass them id be scared of them while they are scared of me
There's a lot of different kinds of freaky out there, but the big commonality seems to be a failure (or unwillingness) to see other people as human beings worthy of respect and autonomy.

When I heard the year 2016 in the 2nd story it brought back the memory of all those clown sightings of that year. Who remembers that ? I actually seen one myself.

Air B&B’s are a solid no from me. My husband and I did one for our anniversary a few years ago and the home owner showed up right after we did the deed. Like hello but why are you here ? Just casually in the barn ? It was supposed to be private and I had paid for privacy. Just made me so uncomfortable I won’t do another.

That would be one of many reasons I would rather just pay extra for a hotel room. Unless I know the person well, no way am I staying in their home, or whatever.

The weird thing for me regarding the second story was the location. I live in Vermont, and we often get a lot of tourists around summertime that, for whatever reason, think that those types of rural cabins are the only accommodation available of that nature for city tourists. There are plenty of back-road cabins that are rural but are close enough to town where hospitals and emergency services are available in case creepy experiences like those do happen.

Do you know where Sharon, VT is? Lebanon NH is probably the closest “city” with a hospital and resources. If you’re not in chittenden county or Stowe it can get pretty rural.
I can’t imagine going out into the middle of nowhere without a gun. I am not a gun nut, but these people who go to an entirely secluded place by themselves at night without any protection… it boggles my mind. You can pack a Rock Island revolver and a box of ammo for like 300 after tax. Definitely worth your life.

Revolvers aren't a great gun for novices. They have more process to figure out than pistols. I knew a little old woman who bought a revolver because she thought it looked less scary than a pistol, but she didn't have the strength to cock it, so it was useless to her. She got a pistol after getting her CCW license.

One time my mom Booked an Airbnb for our family last September, 2021, it was in an extremely shady area, but my mom didn’t know that when booking it. When we arrived the place smelled of smoke, and the neighbors looks very shady. We looked online and heard that there were gunshots in the nearby area, we didn’t take our chances and slept at a hotel instead.

The person in the 3rd story is crazy. He’s in a secluded place at night alone, hears an out of place sound, and his first thought is to open the door and go outside putting himself in a more vulnerable position. Very smart🙄
Your crazy cuz I would do the same thing. Unless I think I can get to my weapon in time, if someone is in the secluded place with me then it makes it easier for them to harm you because you can’t get away. Going outside gives you more space to defend yourself and more reaction time to anything!!

Best Airbnb tip - only book with superhosts, and read all reviews. Lot of the sketchy stories come from “new” listings or listings with barely any reviews. Superhosts are identity verified w/ ID on file (so way less likely to be sketchy) and multiple reviews proves legitimacy.

I feel like it’s always important to meet the Airbnb owners and feel there vibe. If they seem chill, normal, regular people then it’s fine. But if they give off weird vibes or you are unable to meet them beforehand then you should definitely be more alert. Always trust your gut.

My family stayed in an air bnb once that had a front door with no lock, a fan that looked like it would fall off if you turned it on, no AC, and a plastic water bottle for a a showerhead.

The first time I laughed is with the story where the author kept repeating smoker's raspy voice at least five times in one or two sentences. Kind of like it should have been Mr Nightmare's signature story.

I completely understand story #1. I didnt research the area I was staying in and it turned out to be sketchy as fuck. Police knocked on my door asking if I knew someone and then I heard yelling/gunshots the following day outside the window. That is the first and only time that I slept with a knife by my bedside just in case.

I live near a national forest and often chipmunks sound like big animals when they're going through the leaves and trees. Being someone that's not from that area they may not have that experience and those things would scare them.

Barbarian straight up ruined vrbos/airbnbs for me. My wife and I stayed at one a few weeks back. In the middle of the night I started thinking about how vulnerable we were. How someone could come in at any time and there was nothing I could do about it. Around 2am I finally got up and put my bags in front of the bedroom door. At least that way if they came in I'd hear them.
