Fun recap of world's but you mostly looked at what it might take to win or podium at 70.3 worlds, not to qualify which is your first goal and what the title suggested. Fred Funk and you look roughly similar height/weight/body type. You're an uber swimmer. He's an uber cyclist. He pushed around 345w normalized according to his Strava and did some long pulls. That gives you a rough sense of what you'd need to bike to stay with the front pack on the bike assuming you came out with the lead group on the swim (like Miguel Maddox did, but lost around 15 min on the bike leg).
Oh right! There’s similar situations at the world champs. If I race like one and pay attention to the small details, hopefully I punch my ticket to NZ 😊 Fred is around 9kg heavier than I am!
I love watching your progress and optimism. You’ll be on that start line soon enough
Thanks a lot Sam!!
Good luck! My son raced in that race, so proud of him! You athletes are amazing!

It is!! I’m so lucky! 😊
If my maths is correct that’s 20% more aerodynamic, that seems like a massive improvement to base that prediction off
Yeah!! Gotta get my body in shape to be more aero and test some things out!
