That is a stupid opinion, ultimately the Chinese will never fight a total war against the US. It would absolutely cripple both countries to the degree that both countries become unrecognisable and collapse as major powers.
It will be more like the cold war with proxy conflicts, and the Chinese using their massive military to do things like make shows of force and blockade Taiwan. A full on confrontation between both powers will never happen

the UN actually voiced its support for stopping china but because the CCP sits on the security counsel and its all bureaucratic bullshit.
so no they aren't, they just like to puff their chest and pretend they are better than everyone, which sitting back and saying "I told you so." is a good political strategy for the US right now, hence the Chinese cold war that could become very hot very soon.

china will win this war simply because one of the biggest things about war is "know your enemy" this is directly from the art of war.
statements like yours clearly shows the west knows nothing about china.
For food, china is literally 90%+ self sufficient in basic foodstuff. imports cover mostly luxury goods ie: wine, nuts, seafood etc, or they are used for animal feed, ie: corn and soy.
this self sufficiency is in addition to their massive stores of strategic food stuffs, including but not limited to, enough stored grains to feed everyone in china for literally an entire year. a couple months of pork reserves. and sugar for months.
starvation is not a major issue in china like it is in india, all the issues on food supply you hear about in china is due to the raising middle class looking to eat more than just basic grains and vegetables. but in an world war, basic grain will do just fine.
the videos on chinese army exercises and such are widely known to be and are all more or less just a pose or movement the camera team asked them to do because they think it looks "cool". it does not represent what their army is actually like. the PLA is actually very conservative with regards to letting info out( a legacy of having to face both the soviets and the americans from a position of weakness), many things you wouldn't think is a big deal is considered secret, as such tv and videos shows very little about what the PLA is like.
there are many things people knock the PLA down for (lack of real experience, too few NCOs etc). starving soldiers is not on that list. mostly because only idiots and people living in the 1960s would think its an issue.

I appreciate what you do so much. Knowledge is power and I really believe that you do your utmost to give unbiased and fact based information. More than once with the conflict in Ukraine you were able to help me take all the stuff I gather and see on my own and present it in a way I can actually understand and in a lighthearted sometimes comical tone. There's a fine line between lighthearted and disrespectful but you navigate it well which I also think is important with subjects as serious as what you cover. I'm far beyond the point of taking the news for face value. It feels farcical at best these days and completely dishonest at worst. That was a terrible realization but channels like yours make up for it and that's why it means so much to me. The US should take advantage of that feeling and help build up Vietnam as a stronger ally. I also don't see a major ground war being a smart move, best strategy should definitely be to squeeze their supply lines to a point where their economy can't keep up. Something to factor into the war games. The US won't get much help from NATO, they've got their hands full with Russia. The USA is already conducting a proxy war with China and also with Russia in their vain attempt to maintain global dominance. China's military build-up is in response to that proxy war and, as you pointed out, is largely designed for defence and not for projecting military might as is the case with the US military.
The US track record is significant. In their almost constant state of war since WWII the USA hasn't faced anything remotely resembling a peer military and has always had complete air dominance. Even then the largest and most expensive military the world has ever seen hasn't always won and the US and NATO trained and equipped Ukraine military, the 2nd largest in Europe, are not doing well against a peer military. But then, they were always a disposable pawn of US hegemony as is Taiwan. Maybe having a military/industrial complex in private hands with a primary interest in maximising shareholder profits rather than a primary interest in maximising military effectiveness has something to do with that.
The US has massive, but limited, combat experience whereas China has next to zero combat experience, but they have a M/IC in state hands with a primary interest in providing an effective military for the state. They also have military tech the US doesn't possess, EG hypersonic missiles. (Goodbye US Pacific fleet in the first few hours of the US emerging from behind their disposable pawns.) What's more they would be defending their homeland and the USA hasn't done well with that in the past.
I'm not surprised you haven't heard about the Mekong river. One thing I discovered as an Australian Vietnam vet is the US inability to learn. We brought world's best practice jungle warfare to Vietnam and your mob didn't want to know. It was no surprise to hear the commander of the (illegal) invasion of Iraq saying as they started to encounter insurgency action that they had no experience of this. They had 10 years experience of it in Vietnam and learned nothing.
With much higher casualty rates than any of their allies your M/IC is obviously far less interested in training and leadership than they are in selling weapons, 46% of the world's weapons and lots of warm meat for cannon fodder and, as a vet, that really gets up my nose.
You have unscrupulous pirates running your foreign and domestic policy who don't give toss whether you win or lose, either way they make a ton of money.
BTW Chinese debt traps are an invention of the USA with no examples of it evident anywhere. For example in bankrupt Sri Lanka around 10% of their debt is to China, mostly for infrastructure which retains value. Nearly 50% of their debt is to Wall St; Blackrock, JPMorgan, HSBC etc, the usual suspects who also sell on debt. It's a Wall St debt trap but the US is marvellously adept at blaming their crimes on others along with the finest mainstream media money can buy to peddle their BS.

I think an interesting player is japan. They’re the third largest economy, and China is still VERY adamant that ww2 actions haven’t been forgiven. They rely on America and have a peaceful constitution, but they seem to be realizing it’s gonna be hard to stay that way with China for a neighbor. Look at their two “totally not aircraft carriers” they were able build recently.

Surprises me to learn you had never heard of the Mekong River. This river system was a primary route of the NVA/VC to move arms and supplies during the Vietnam War, and was patrolled quite heavily by USN patrol craft. China is going down to the same path the old Soviet Union did, and that is quantity over quality, stealing technology where they can be never being able to develop it adequately to meet its needs. China is barely able to feed its own people, let alone keep its military supplied. If there is going to be a confrontation between the US and China, the South China Sea seems a likely area, especially when you consider how important Taiwan is to both sides. But I really laughed when you compared the lack of discipline your squad would have in carrying out an order, to that believed to be possessed by the Chinese military. Maybe that's the problem with the US Army. Give the same directive to a squad of Marines and it would be carried out without hesitation.

You need to remember how China values their conscripts. I talked with some Korean War veterans at a Marine Corps ball. They described being absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of man power. They had about 1 rife for for 4-5 troops. They have a rifleman and ammunition to spread out with their “team”. Russias spec ops has not done well at all with Ukraines military and volunteer civilians. Their vehicles haven’t preformed we’ll much like their conscripts. If owning land of another country wins wars China already own some of our land. America hasn’t fought a war to win, every war we’ve had since 1945 we have lost in Washington D.C. Let our troops do what they’re trained to do.

Excellent review. I am not 100% confident that the US would fully engage with China if they invaded Taiwan. When the Chinese Communist Party had a violent revolution in 1949 they declared themselves the new rulers of China.
The existing government fled to Taiwan, and the US recognised Taiwan as the legitimate government of China until they changed their minds, closed down the US embassy in Taiwan in 1979 and recognised that "Mainland China" in Beijing (aka the communist revolutionaries that overthrew the government) were now the legitimate rulers of China.
Both Taiwan & Beijing still assert that they are each the rightful rulers of ALL of China (including mainland, island of Taiwan, Hongkong etc.)
Neither the US or United Nations currently recognise Taiwan as a country, although Taiwan has been trying to get United Nations membership for years.
