Good morning Dana, ANOTHER great vid, I’m fishing the jig/fluke this weekend or Monday looking forward to some “BIG” bites, THANKS again Dana for ALL you do, through sickness, through unbalanced work schedule, and just some days when you may not feel like it, THANK YOU for what you do 🎣
Great job with the bucktail today Dana!! Looked like a nice day to be out till you started getting crowded..😳🎣..Atleast it’s gotten too cold for the jet skies!!🍀🍀 Great Video Brother!!
You caught some beauties today! I have to say I caught my first jig and fluke spot today utilizing the same technique as you. It was a 3 pounder off a point. It was a satisfying “Thump”! Appreciate all the information you share!
Look like fun I haven't been out in 2 weeks because of work and the weather I hope I can go Sunday and Christmas day my only days off.thanks for the video you got me ready to get out there
I have been paying attention to the weather report for Christmas, looks like a rain out at this point. I will be out there if it doesn't rain. Thanks for watching!
The current ones I'm using are made by HUK, but the thumbs wore through from using a bait caster. They only lasted about 3 months. I have some new ones on the way from Fish Monkey. I will report on if they are any good in one of my videos after I get them and use them awhile.
I don’t mind at all. I even say in the video! I was using a 1/4 oz that day because I was fishing fairly deep. I usually use a 1/8 if fishing shallow, if windy or fishing deeper I will throw a 3/8 or 1/2. I even pour a few 3/4. It all depends on the day. Some days the fish prefer a faster fall, some days not. You have to experiment a little.
Great video! I’m trying to get a feel for your technique with the buck tail. Are you letting it hit bottom after the twitches? I’m worried about snagging often on Allatoona.
Thanks for watching! The trick is to never let it actually hit bottom or you will be snagged. If I'm fishing it near the bottom I will pop it right before it hit's bottom, you kind of develop a feel for it. I have had some great days at Allatoona fishing it, but there are areas that are snaggy.
Hey! Thanks for the great videos and info. I’m visiting family next week outside Atlanta and hoping to get out and do some bank fishing. Any suggestions for good places to try this time of year?
Sorry, but the jigs I use I make myself. Also, the rod I have been using is no longer available. It is an FX Custom 7 ft medium fast rod. They have some new models and their stuff is pretty good. Same with the reel. It is an older model Shimano, but the newer Vanford's are the best.
I think it was Tuesday. I really had to work for these fish, it was a bit slower than I expected. I really believe that the smaller profile bait makes a difference right now. There are a lot of Threadfin Shad around.
Nevermind sir. I heard you say 1/4 cause it's deep. Thank you. I just recently moved down here and these deep water lakes are really messing me up. I just don't know how to fish em during winter. I'm used to NJ and PA where it's 2-6ft everywhere lol
I make my jigs in a lot of different sizes, sometimes I will use a 1/2 or even a 3/4 oz jig if it is ultra windy or I'm fishing really deep. On the other end of that, I tie them in a 1/16 and smaller too. Sometimes they prefer one size over another. You have to experiment a little to find out what they prefer on the day you are fishing. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Well Dana don't know what to tell you about the striper boats but or excuse my language for saying it like this but some of them can be pure assholes they don't have no respect for nobody on the water it's just like the wavemakers they don't have respect for nobody on the water

Thanks Chauncey! I really love to fish, so I am going out one way or another.
Good day of fishing good deal

Thanks man, it was a nice day but started getting crazy on the water!
That doll fly (buck tail) really does the trick! Those some quality spotted bass!
It is my favorite way to fish.
All I do is chase big spots in one creek only. Really enjoyed this one, quality 🐟 indeed. Keep em coming.....
I fish quite a few creeks and different areas, but it's not a bad idea to learn one creek really well. Thanks for watching!
Good video
Thanks for watching!
You had another great day! caught some nice ones!
Thanks 👍

Awesome! There is nothing like that thump!
Looks like you had a pretty good day. Merry Christmas. Thanks for sharing so much information.
Merry Christmas to you too! It was a great day, hope you have a great one as well!

Another good one
Thanks again!
Great gloves/mittens combination? Looks perfect for this weather. Where to get?

I looked on HUk and Fish Monkey. Neither show what you seem to be wearing: mittens that open up into fishing gloves. Did I see that correctly?
Great Vid, as always! If you dont mind me asking. How many ounces is the jig you are throwing?

Yes sir! I pulled the trigger too quick. About 2 min later you mentioned the ounces and reasons why. My bad. I appreciate you kind sir!
@@jasonclauss267 No problem! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! Laurel Park is a good option. Also you might try Clark’s Bridge. They are both on the north end. Thanks for watching!
Can you drop links of the gear and hair jig your using?

What side do you fish I fish clarksbridge and Lula bridge
I fish all over the north end. I am over on the Chestatee side quite a bit, but I live over here on the Chattahoochee side.
Was this Tuesday by any chance? I fished from balus to east bank, and never could get a fish to commit.
I think it was Tuesday. I really had to work for these fish, it was a bit slower than I expected. I really believe that the smaller profile bait makes a difference right now. There are a lot of Threadfin Shad around.
I know you make your own jigs. What is the weight of those hair jigs ya dont mind me asking?
Nevermind sir. I heard you say 1/4 cause it's deep. Thank you. I just recently moved down here and these deep water lakes are really messing me up. I just don't know how to fish em during winter. I'm used to NJ and PA where it's 2-6ft everywhere lol

What pound test do you use for your bass jigs ?
I usually use 16 lb Gamma fluorocarbon. The best line money can buy.
@FCPFishing
Thanks Dana !
you can fix that rod eye
Thanks.
