@@da.mombie brother im not bullshitting you, you couldn’t choose where you wanted to Dodge if so then id like to know How you did that And How id use the Dodge is: Look where the chaser is, if its far away or close or where its comming from Also to remember the weakness of your chaser so if its a carno, then we know it has bad agility and terrible accileration so wed want to Dodge where it has to make a manouver that way we can moreso easily get to the forest or wherever youd want to go. For something like omni then we know its a bit faster soo both keep being infront and if its getting to close then Dodge to the side and try to stay away from open areas where it can easily track you down. For something like cera we know its as fast as teno so you’re going to be faster here and if for some reason the cera is next to you then it would be smart to Dodge infront of it, behind it or away from the side of it

Dryo’s dodge probably isn’t even worth using. If your being chased by a carno, doesn’t matter what you do, the charge hit box immediately hits you. That happened to me before, anyway, see you at the event today
it is WAY worse using, you could even dodge a carno charge with the right timing. that said, it was always tough vs carnos hitbox. but, vs everything esle, the old was better. by FAR. UPDATE: sorry, I missread that. I read isn't even worse using, instead of worth! ^^ my bad, sorry ♥
@@spaceboye9343 its not just forward? its also good when standing still or walking because it gives a pretty good speed boost in that regard so it allows you to move pretty quickly while not sprinting at all, use alt then right click so you can move your camera freely while running, this will allow you to make insane 360 turns at an instant speed using the dodge and trust me its good.

yeah, to be fair, many people complained about the old dodge and told me they "love" the new one. but, like you said, where are they? dryo is almost extinct meanwhile anyway, the devs are hardly to blame (for that matter) in my opinion. their discord was full of people complaining about the old dryo dodge. people like me (who liked it) didn't show up in their discord to say, good job, it's perfect the way it is. so, they probably got the feeling most people don't like it and changed it :/

Dont know if you knew but the wherever you see as dryo you Dodge in that direction, so while running its snart to use your alt to look where you want to dodge, so if you want to Dodge to the right while running then use your alt look to Keep you running and Dodge
yeah, like I explained in the other comment, alt view is a huge disadvantage by it's own during a chase. I highly recommend you to learn to use WASD and the cam instead of alt
@@HauntingSpectre XD... personally I use the alt view, when I walk or run from A to B. it's pretty comfortable to look around while you want to run in a certain direction anyway. in a chase tho, you don't want to run in a certain direction. you want to run in the best direction. therefore I don't use alt in a chase at all. 'cause you cannot circle by holding alt. you can slightly adjust left or right, but not circle. just try yourself to hold the alt view and run a circle. a full circle. it's impossible. in a chase tho I want to see where my opponent is AND circle at the same time. this only works with cam and WASD. if you never did, then just start by standing still, turn the cam to look back and press S. now you walk/run forward while looking back. now you can also use S+A or S+D to start running a circle while you slightly adjust your cam with the mouse. it needs some time to practice, specially quick cam turns to the front and back again. 'cause if you look forward you have to switch to W of course and back to S as soon as you turn the cam back. but, it isn't that tricky if even I can do it as soon as you can run like this, you have more control in every chase and will never use alt in chase again

Then I learned that they're faster than me, they can even use their pounce to move even faster. I guess the devs nerfed the dodge because they wanted more people to play dryo. /endsarcasm. That Galli in the video was mean. It seems to me that most gallis are mean. They like to strut around and kick everything that moves.

few days ago i played dryo, found a mate and made a bunch of babies! :-) in the end momma had to log and i was left with the fam, but sadly i died to a cera who was sneaking around us. im just glad he got me and not my children!
I personally love the new dodge. Instead of being predictable and dodging the same direction almost every time you get to choose now. All you have to do is turn your camera little.
predictable? you could choose between left and right before and now the same. let's be real, 45° to each side of the front doesn't help at all and 45° to the back is almost impossible vs the likes of carno and it's hitbox. so, the 360° argument sounds nice, but doesn't effect the chase. don't get me wrong, if you feel better with it, then I am happy for you. but, in a proper chase the old was better. MUCH better. and here is why, you lose the sight after every dodge now. you don't see how your opponent reacted. did it follow quickly? do I have to adjust me direction. did it run the other way and shall I go slightly more left or right? you just don't know. if you don't know, you can't react. the old dodge was useable without losing sight. I could react and adjust my direction immediately after the dodge. which ends in 3-5 meter more distance compared to now. even if you are fast as fuck with turning your cam backwards again, you still lose a second (turning, spotting your opponent and REACT to it). if you don't lose sight, then you also don't have to react. this second ends up in 3-5 meter more distance with the right adjustment in direction. but now you can't adjust, 'cause you don't know. you have to guess. you lose the control of the chase. sry mate, I am passionate about dryo ♥

I even adressed the video to the devs about the dodge, so? it was a good ability, but it is useless the way it is now. if you are a proper chase player, then you can't use the actual dodge.

Hey can u pls help me fix problem that i get playing evrima? My water turns black for around 1 sec per 2-3 sec idk what is the poroblem i played evrima like 3 moths ago and it was normal but now it just glitching
they literally messed up his dodge ability, before it was harder to catch the dryos, but now he's literally an easy sack of meat to catch, thankfully in the future they'll put his burrowing mechanic on him, at least that way he'll have a chance to escape from most predators
I really wish they'll bring back the old dodge. the only reason they changed it, was all the people who can't run with WASD and look back properly. they cried for months to change it. where are they now? nobody plays dryo anymore. in fact, most who complained weren't dryo players anyway. so sad that they listened to all those who complained without even know how to run, 'cause they don't even play dryo. they played dryo once or twice, didn't figure out how to use the dodge and complained. the dryo players I know from the comments, those who play dryo more often, never complained about the old dodge :/ yeah, I miss the burrow. but, Kissen said it will become even better than the old one, so, I am looking very much forward to it

I'm confused since when has the dodge not been terrible? The only fun dodge I remember was the one that didn't cost stam. It would still get you killed though.
the old dodge (till update 5) was very good, but, it did cost too much stam. the dodge without stam in update 5 was almost OP in my opinion. me dryo was almost untouchable during that time. in general the old dodge mechanic worked very well, IF you knew how to use it. which many people didn't. 'cause they don't even know how to run properly. the new dodge on the other hand, isn't useable in a chase at all. you lose sight on your opponent after every dodge. so, you don't know how your opponent reacted and therefore you can't choose the best direction after the dodge. which costs you a lot of distance. they designed the new dodge for those who use the alt view IN a chase. which is probably the worst you can do in the first place :/
Dryos new dodge isnt bad? You get an immediate boost forward and can make instant and extremely quick turns by dodging in the direction your looking and it doesnt cost stamina. The new dodge isnt bad, your not good at using it.
sry mate, but this sounds like you didn't know how to use the old dodge and probably don't even know how to run properly. you can't use the alt view if you want to have the control in a chase. you have to run with the cam and WASD. as soon as you do that, you can't use the dodge anymore. so, to use the new dodge, you have to run like a beginner first. to keep control in a chase, you have to see your opponent. only that way you can turn/dodge in the right moments and use every advantage of the area. like little hill tops, bushes or whatever breaks the line of sight, so, that you turn in a moment when your opponent doesn't see you. why? 'cause he/she has to react then. reaction time = distance they lose before they are on track again. that's simple math. well, the new dodge forces you to look forward after every dodge. so, you have to turn the cam, spot your enemy and now YOU have to react. again, reaction time = distance. in this case tho, you lose distance. the old dodge was useable without losing the line of sight and therefore without losing distance and without losing control. your argument is boost forward, ok, that's better. instant and quick turns? well, that did the old dodge, too. the stam also doesn't count, 'cause the old dodge also didn't need stam at one point. so, this another discussion (should it cost stam or not), but, it has nothing to do with the dodge mechanic itself. so, after all, your boost forward is better. that's all. but, losing sight is so much worse in every chase, that I don't see a jump forward compensate this disadvantage. not even close.
@@da.mombie yeah but what is the purpose of playing dryo when you cannot even kill a juvi, you are literally playing a spectator mode with a “dodge” mechanic. A Beipi, which is way smaller in weight than a dryo can defend itself way easier than a dryo.

I had so many good chases with dryo already and being able to control, yeah even dominate a chase is as satisfying as a good fight and much more satisfying than killing a juvie. do you know dead by daylight? if so, then you know there are killer and survior. the survivor has to escape and the best part are the chases. dryo is a survivor, no killer. but, playing survivor can be as fun as playing killer. specially if you dominate the killer by being better in chase.
And the burrow! I want dryo burrow. Such a weak Dino needs all it can to evade. When I first played evrima I was there trying to figure out HOW to make a burrow, not knowing it wasn't a thing. Mombie, get off the mixpack servers, stegos mixing with ceras... Low tier gameplay. They'd get verbally clapped if global chat was a thing 😡😚
the thing i dont understand about herbi players (other than stego and pachy) is that what do you do if you cant kill? do you just run around and be annoying? lmao
well, there are many types of players. some only enjoy the pain of others. to kill someone and know he/she has to grow again is their biggest satisfaction. for those I wouldn't recommend a dryo. they will be bored. then are some who just want to nest, hang out in a herd and enjoy the interaction. these will enjoy dryo. but, there is also a group of people who enjoy the challenge. dryo is challenging and also satisfying if you dominate the chase. you can get the same feeling of a victory like in a good fight. do you know dead by daylight? there are killer players and survivors. the killer has to kill and the survivor has to escape. the best part in this game are the chases as a survivor. being good in chase is as skillbased as being good as killer and therefore as satisfying.
I love dryo, it will never be useless to me personally. even without dodge I will enjoy being chased. still, it is so sad. it was such a good and fun ability. but you can't use it anymore. what a shame :(
I love to play dryo, sadly there aren't many other dryos around these days :/ still, I love being chased. the victory is the escape, not the kill. a different gameplay, but, very satisfying in my opinion. I already had many heart rate increasing chases

thats the issue, it isnt a dodge. its a short forward speed boost. use it while sprinting

the biggest downside of the new dodge is that you look forward after every dodge now. FORWARD! that's the worst position you can look at in a chase. 'cause you lose the sight of your opponent. even if you manage to turn it back within a second, you lose a second to react and choose the best direction to run immediately after the dodge. which are about 3-5 meter distance we are speaking about.
so, sry mate. but, if you are a proper chase player, then the new dodge is useless. it's for those who run with alt view. which is by it's own is a huge handicap. you can't run a proper circle with alt view and as soon as you turn forward you lose sight and therefore distance. the new dodge is nothing but a fun tool that is completely useless in any proper chase.
i miss the ability to burrow as dryo, i wish it was brought to evrima :,)

it's the most stupid change of all. it destroys the dodge for those who can run in favour to those who can't run. I just said it to another mate, if you use the alt view WITHIN a chase, then you have bigger problems than the dodge ^^
They could at least have let us chain the two charges....
I don't need them to be chained, I also don't need more distance or anything else. I just want it useable in a proper chase without losing sight on the opponent. which isn't the case anymore. now you have two option, run properly OR dodge. unfortunately, one excludes the other :/

they literally messed up his dodge ability, before it was harder to catch the dryos, but now he's literally an easy sack of meat to catch, thankfully in the future they'll put his burrowing mechanic on him, at least that way he'll have a chance to escape from most predators

I really wish they'll bring back the old dodge. the only reason they changed it, was all the people who can't run with WASD and look back properly. they cried for months to change it. where are they now? nobody plays dryo anymore. in fact, most who complained weren't dryo players anyway. so sad that they listened to all those who complained without even know how to run, 'cause they don't even play dryo. they played dryo once or twice, didn't figure out how to use the dodge and complained. the dryo players I know from the comments, those who play dryo more often, never complained about the old dodge :/

I'm confused since when has the dodge not been terrible? The only fun dodge I remember was the one that didn't cost stam. It would still get you killed though.
the old dodge (till update 5) was very good, but, it did cost too much stam. the dodge without stam in update 5 was almost OP in my opinion. me dryo was almost untouchable during that time. in general the old dodge mechanic worked very well, IF you knew how to use it. which many people didn't. 'cause they don't even know how to run properly. the new dodge on the other hand, isn't useable in a chase at all. you lose sight on your opponent after every dodge. so, you don't know how your opponent reacted and therefore you can't choose the best direction after the dodge. which costs you a lot of distance. they designed the new dodge for those who use the alt view IN a chase. which is probably the worst you can do in the first place :/
Dryos new dodge isnt bad? You get an immediate boost forward and can make instant and extremely quick turns by dodging in the direction your looking and it doesnt cost stamina. The new dodge isnt bad, your not good at using it.
sry mate, but this sounds like you didn't know how to use the old dodge and probably don't even know how to run properly. you can't use the alt view if you want to have the control in a chase. you have to run with the cam and WASD. as soon as you do that, you can't use the dodge anymore. so, to use the new dodge, you have to run like a beginner first.
to keep control in a chase, you have to see your opponent. only that way you can turn/dodge in the right moments and use every advantage of the area. like little hill tops, bushes or whatever breaks the line of sight, so, that you turn in a moment when your opponent doesn't see you. why? 'cause he/she has to react then. reaction time = distance they lose before they are on track again. that's simple math.
well, the new dodge forces you to look forward after every dodge. so, you have to turn the cam, spot your enemy and now YOU have to react. again, reaction time = distance. in this case tho, you lose distance. the old dodge was useable without losing the line of sight and therefore without losing distance and without losing control.
your argument is boost forward, ok, that's better. instant and quick turns? well, that did the old dodge, too. the stam also doesn't count, 'cause the old dodge also didn't need stam at one point. so, this another discussion (should it cost stam or not), but, it has nothing to do with the dodge mechanic itself. so, after all, your boost forward is better. that's all. but, losing sight is so much worse in every chase, that I don't see a jump forward compensate this disadvantage. not even close.

@@da.mombie yeah but what is the purpose of playing dryo when you cannot even kill a juvi, you are literally playing a spectator mode with a “dodge” mechanic. A Beipi, which is way smaller in weight than a dryo can defend itself way easier than a dryo.

do you know dead by daylight? if so, then you know there are killer and survior. the survivor has to escape and the best part are the chases. dryo is a survivor, no killer. but, playing survivor can be as fun as playing killer. specially if you dominate the killer by being better in chase.

the thing i dont understand about herbi players (other than stego and pachy) is that what do you do if you cant kill? do you just run around and be annoying? lmao
well, there are many types of players. some only enjoy the pain of others. to kill someone and know he/she has to grow again is their biggest satisfaction. for those I wouldn't recommend a dryo. they will be bored. then are some who just want to nest, hang out in a herd and enjoy the interaction. these will enjoy dryo. but, there is also a group of people who enjoy the challenge. dryo is challenging and also satisfying if you dominate the chase. you can get the same feeling of a victory like in a good fight.
do you know dead by daylight? there are killer players and survivors. the killer has to kill and the survivor has to escape. the best part in this game are the chases as a survivor. being good in chase is as skillbased as being good as killer and therefore as satisfying.

I love to play dryo, sadly there aren't many other dryos around these days :/ still, I love being chased. the victory is the escape, not the kill. a different gameplay, but, very satisfying in my opinion. I already had many heart rate increasing chases
