I totally understand. The Spring Mellotron certainly is a historical legacy machine. Like the Fripp Mk II's that went up for sale a couple decades ago, and what ever other units have exchanged hands. We can only hope they are healthy and wind up on a recording we can all hear. I have a Wakeman M-400 (supposedly...and not officially confirmed). I don't consider myself an active recording musician, but I believe the foundation about owning any vintage music instrument is that you appreciate its history and importance in recorded music history. It is much more commendable to have a historical artifact if you appreciate its heritage, and not so much as a financial investment. Any one who appreciates vintage stuff will never sell it of they don't really need to...In The Name Of All Things Mellotronic.
@@mellotrongirl Some fun fact; I did have one MKII that I got from a house clearing sale in May 1993. Some musical voultures try to buy that from me as soon as the word got out, but I wanted a good home for it, so I keept it until December that same year. I do believe in karma and a friend of a friends husband could´nt hold his tears back when we spoke on the phone. Me and some friends did the transport in a big van to their house in the middle of the woods. The wife sold one car to pay for his dream. The things we do for love!
I saw this one when it was up for sale. Who got this one? I sure love the band Spring... !
For privacy reasons I can't tell you who is the new owner, but obviously he is a lover of the sound of those years. Thanks for your comment!
