Dan did the music of many of his covers with MIDI. His versatile voice is so beautiful and with the ups and downs of his vocals he enhances the haunting impression of the song.

Dan already covered this song 12 years ago. This shows Dan's great development over the years, not only the vocals, but also the equipment and his mixing and mastering. His voice was already good 12 years ago, but today it's phenomenal and his charisma in front of the camera is just fire. 🔥🔥🔥

WONDERFUL REACTION, Hugo! About six months ago, Dan (well...not Dan, but Gio) posted one of his reel of this one, on Facebook.Some people got upset about it. I steered them to the lyrics, and we discussed what the song is really about. Most people had no idea why the lady in the song was encouraged not to lock the open door while she went out looking to see where her husband had gone and what he was doing.
The point of those lyrics is that he had left her INSIDE with the door locked, for her own protection. If she chose to go outside that night (which it appears that she did), she should have made sure that she could get back IN, in case she needed to run from the monster who was her husband overnight. In other words, it would have been bad for her to decide to go outside, then before she closed the door, to lock it! Most people have thought it means that she should have locked out her (temporarily) changed husband, so that he couldn't get back inside and hurt her. As with most metal songs, you really have to read through the lyrics closely, and be aware that there are things being said in "coded" language, many times. Dan does EXTREMELY well with his covers of those songs...pulling all of the emotion out from them, and pouring it down on us!
We had some interesting short conversations that week, about the underlying reason for this particular song. The lyrics are quite interesting, when you break them down. So are the ones in Iron Maiden's "Two Minutes to Midnight."

My husband and I live with our youngest daughter, her husband, and their eight children. The family keeps me busy, in a good way, and since I'm a night owl, I generally have plenty of time to myself. Also, I'm a writer, and a UA-camr myself. This is my "scriptures" channel, and my other active one is my gaming channel. I also appear now and again with my very first YT channel (Linda Wingfield), which I began in 2014 just so I could comment here and there. I'm also a singer and musician, myself, though not as active as I was in my younger years. I spend most of my time in front of my computer, watching and listening to music, mainly, but sometimes to other types of videos, which are mainly reactions to music videos. 😀I check out Facebook and Instagram for music, photos, and interesting articles, as well. When I was still working, I was both an executive secretary and a full-charge bookkeeper, as well as other types of jobs wherein I spent a lot of time doing research...in other words, doing the things I love, but getting paid for it! I've just continued doing those same things, on my own, for my own satisfaction, since retiring. 😀
