I am from Chengdu, China. It was a coincidence that I saw this video. The 16th future city is Chengdu Future City. This future city is just near my company. I rode a bike to see it yesterday. The center of this future city is about 1.5 kilometers away from my company. What surprised me was that after only 8 months, a huge modern park and dozens of modern buildings have been built there. I was very surprised by the speed. This future city is located in the east of Chengdu Financial City. It is also the second phase of Chengdu Financial City, and the first phase is another future city. In fact, in Chengdu alone, there are about seven or eight such future cities under construction or already built. Therefore, the speed and scale of China's development are simply unimaginable to many foreigners. It can be said that it exceeds their cognitive scope.
My friend is from Chengdu and she just got back a few days ago and showed me pictures and told me all about it. I've never been before but I'll definitely visit in the Spring Festival.

You have to love a video titled "Amazing Cities" and then have the narrator shit on every city proposed. So Mr. Narrator, what do you propose? The world population is growing, and old ways do not work, so what do you propose? Keep pumping out cars and destroying the environment or trying new things to preserve the planet? You talk about climate change being bad, then proceed to shit on any ideas that try to help it.
Most of these futuristic cities feel and could be prisons. The WEF concept of 15min cities, no cars, no way out, all digital controlable. What could possible go wrong? What have we learned during covid about government control and freedom of movement in a digital controlled world? I would never want to live in these cities, they only serve as modern prisons.
