  • Finally got around to finishing up my Dual Winch Set Up on the Sportsman X2. Ive had it for a while and cant wait to try it out. Not alot of info to get 2 winches on one switch so this is what I can up with. Didnt loose much ground clearance if any and plenty strong. Thanks for watching.

    Great information man, well that fan set up work on a 2012 800 ranger. I find it stops running at 195 or so. If u turn off and let sit a minute the temp is over 205. Like to be able to cool it down more.

      @Solitude313  6 років тому +1

      Yes, but the Temp climbing when turned off is normal due to it not circulating. Those Temps are great for the 800 motor tho, but I always do it for a piece of mind.

    Question, i didnt see where the front winch hooked to a contactor. Are you using 1 contactor for both winches or do they each have their own. Thanks alot i love how youve set this up and will be trying to duplicate!

    Looking good! It will look even better when the Honda is pulling that thing out of a mud hole!

    Great video! What rear winch mount are you using (manufacturer, model)? You are mentioning something at 1 min 18 s but I can't quite get it. You are also saying that you can still use the 2 in receiver, which would imply that you replaced the factory installed 1 1/4 in receiver.

      Riding Dirty 901 Thank you. You can do it man, just get out there and think about what you doing. If it doesn't flow or you second guess it, dont do it, retry until it flows nicely

      SolitudeCustoms I did just that. I installed a new exhaust, rear axle protectors and a TigerTail on my Outlander with my cousin's help. I have it on my channel. Kinda got the idea of posting it by watching you rebuild Swamp Ass Honda. Cool videos and great inspiration.

    Do you happen to have links for the switch and possibly a wiring diagram for this???

    Can you explain the wires coming from the solenoid to your DPDT switch? Did you need to run 3 new wires from the solenoid to the switch?

    • @toddbuh
      @toddbuh 7 місяців тому

      His winch's only have two wires from the solenoid, a "winch in" & a "winch out" wire. ( brown & blue ) you connect the 2 wires to the top terminals on DPDT switch for 1 winch, And connect the other two winch wires to the bottom 2 terminals of DPDT switch for winch 2, then connect the middle 2 terminals of DPDT switch with the brown & blue wires to the winch rocker switch. when finished, ...If it winches in, when you press winch out, just reverse the brown & blue wires going to rocker switch and then it will work right. I hope that helps, I'm installing a 2nd winch on my side by side now. and just ordered one of these dpdt switch's.

    So your trick to run 2 winches on one switch is to use 2 switches? Jk. I've toyed with that set up but I think I'm going to just have the 2nd switch run the 2nd winch. Another thought is to have the center position run both winches at the same time only have one pulling in while the other feeds out. Could be handy in fast water. Lol
    I have the same switch set up for my fan on my mustang. It's nice to be able to switch it on before I start romping on it, get a head start on the heat.

      It's one switch for 2 positions. 1 switch does both front and back depending if its pushed front or to the back

  • @sjefshygen204
    @sjefshygen204 4 роки тому +1

    It makes it more complicated but what if the middle position pulls or releases both winches?

    • @Solitude313
      @Solitude313  4 роки тому

      You would just need a SPDT switch for that and connect both switch powers to one terminal and 12v to the other.
