  • WARNING: my aunt's phone and internet solution is for LOW INTERNET USAGE.
My aunt was paying about $120 a month after taxes to get Home Phone Line (local only) and slow 3mbps dsl internet through Frontier ISP.
    Again.. that's $120 a month!!!!
My aunt and uncle do not use the internet much. They were originally fine with 3mbps.
But then.. the internet stopped working.. or it was super slow latency.
Here is how I ended up saving them about $100 a month. Upfront cost was roughly about $90.
    1. They wanted to still use their home phone. Why? They're older, so using a home phone is just easier then a smart phone. So... how to do this.
    REQUIREMENTS:
    a. You need a smart phone (pixel 3 used $50 from ebay) CHECK!
    b. You need a cheap phone plan (visible $25 plan with unlimited internet and mobile hotspot 5mbps only) CHECK!
    c. You need a bluetooth device that allows you to use cellular phone with a regular home phone.. JACK2CELL for $40. CHECK!!!
Again. up front cost was about $90 total.
Setting up the home phone with jack2cell and then with the bluetooth on the smartphone with visible was pretty easy.
    2. Get internet to the home wirelessly by enabling mobile hotspot on the phone.
    It was that simple.

NOTE: Internet hotspot speed is just 5bmps with visible. You can find a different carrier that offers faster internet speeds... visible also offers $45 internet with double the hotspot speed at $45.
Anyways.. that's how I got my aunt to save $100 a month on her home internet and home phone plan.
    AGAIN NOTE:
THIS IS FOR low internet usage users.. like older people.
If you want faster internet.. I recommend getting a home wireless internet plans that range from 45 to 80 a month.
Offered by straight talk, t-mobile, or verizon.
I did not go this route since my aunt uncle did not require a fast internet. But it was still an option.
So far the pros of this:
    i. Saving $100 a month
ii. Now they can make unlimited long distance (before limited to just local calls)
iii. Their internet is faster more reliable then frontier dsl capped at 3mbps... now they get 5mbps and could double the speed for just another $20 a month.
iv. I can troubleshoot their internet phone problems much easier the frontier could!
I made a short video of me setting up the jack2cell so it could use the home phone with a smartphone with visible cell service:
