  • Every garden needs pollinators and bees are among the best. How to attract pollinators is both easy and cheap. Simple feeders and low cost sugar and water is all that is needed. Simply placing these feeders out not only helps your garden but also the bees.

I found just watering your flowering plants during mid day, despite people saying not to, really attracts pollinators. The bee's seem to like the cool and moist environment during that time.

    HELP?!!!!!
So I hung up a 6 dollar chicken feeder with sugar water and some added honey, maple syrup, and a 1/4 of lemongrass squeeze tube (from Publix). I hung it at 9:30p. By 10:00am, I had over 400 bees storming the thing!!! This shit works! They drank it all. Climbed inside it. Shit all over it, stayed all day and humped every plant in the surrounding area including my windows, and I don't know what to do now!?? So here's the thing, it's now 9:30pm and there are over 50 dead bees in the rim of the chicken feeder and some dead ones on the ground. Did they OD on sugar?

@@juliosdiy3206 I spoke with bee keeper. I overloaded them with water. They died from too much water intake. I will never feed bees again. The keeper told me that you never need to feed bees unnaturally. Put actual plants and flowers that bees love. It's he best and only way to really help out the bees. I killed over 500 bees by following this UA-cam vid.

@@resacarebel1868 yeah we have it done but I also know when you put a feeder out the bees make a beeline straight to it they don't just start pollinating all your flowers , that's why you plant flowers that bloom at different times or plants.. if you really wanna be technical you'd be better off using lemongrass oil only to attract them to your garden so they work your blooms.. a bee is never going to choose a bloom over a 5gallon bucket of syrup ..
