- Every garden needs pollinators and bees are among the best. How to attract pollinators is both easy and cheap. Simple feeders and low cost sugar and water is all that is needed. Simply placing these feeders out not only helps your garden but also the bees.
I found just watering your flowering plants during mid day, despite people saying not to, really attracts pollinators. The bee's seem to like the cool and moist environment during that time.
I do it all the time still only 2 bees 🥲 last year I had so many bumblebees this year 1 🥲
I LOVE bees beyond words and i am praying for them that they get protected from monsanto and bayer toxic chemicals
This made my ❤️ smile!
You're bigger problem is 5g. Spoke to a verizon rep who was telling me everywhere they put them is covered in bees. It screws up something with their navigation.
This is my first year gardening an I sure thank you for this tip!! Thanks so much . God bless.
I just bought a shallow plastic container and a solar “fountain” to place in my garden. The first day as soon as the fountain started there were birds in my garden!!
HELP?!!!!!
So I hung up a 6 dollar chicken feeder with sugar water and some added honey, maple syrup, and a 1/4 of lemongrass squeeze tube (from Publix). I hung it at 9:30p. By 10:00am, I had over 400 bees storming the thing!!! This shit works! They drank it all. Climbed inside it. Shit all over it, stayed all day and humped every plant in the surrounding area including my windows, and I don't know what to do now!?? So here's the thing, it's now 9:30pm and there are over 50 dead bees in the rim of the chicken feeder and some dead ones on the ground. Did they OD on sugar?
I hope the sweets dont be like wines or chemicals like ants taking sugar and borax to kill them.
@@juliosdiy3206 I spoke with bee keeper. I overloaded them with water. They died from too much water intake. I will never feed bees again. The keeper told me that you never need to feed bees unnaturally. Put actual plants and flowers that bees love. It's he best and only way to really help out the bees. I killed over 500 bees by following this UA-cam vid.
ty for the tips.. I just used a shallow plastic container.. filled with some small rocks (so bees will not drown) and sugar water.. If the mixture attracts bees will do your suggestion
We places all kinds of containers out during the summer and fall. We also use the shallow containers filled with gravel
I got some nice free buckets at a Target Super Store. Nice size and nice seal! Free!
I dont c any bees around my fruit trees and garden this whole spring i have no idea where they are, i saw one bumble bee thats it, my two plum trees did not even pollunate so i need some help n gettin the bees to come next spring thnks.
i love southerners...yall butter my bread.
enjoyed this, we just harvested honey today.
Congrats on the harvest.....Get one of those lids!!!! They work great I found one by just browsing the isle. I like them for everything around the farm. But as feeders they come in handy.
Hopefully people are not applying pesticides in their garden at the same time.
OkieRob well you would think they wouldn't. But you might bee surprised.
How far from your garden should feeders be? Great video!
I would place it with 20 to 25 feet of your garden.
Fire house subs sells 5 gallon pickle buckets with lids for 3 bucks if anyones looking to save a few bucks 🤷♂️
I have to check that out. Thanks for the information.
What do I do if I'm highly allergic to bee stings with the yellow jackets showing up. Am I just out of Luck?
That's the problem with open feeders. All species show up
1:44 all water would also 🐝 appreciated or even less than 1/2 sugar also…confirmed by a 🐝keeper.
A man that can use his hands, helping bees, helping mankind at the same time and super sexy and hot?? I'm in love lol. Congrats and make more videos please, eye candy..
Oh dear have you had your eye sight checked lately. The only reason I could ever be considered eye candy would be because I am shaped like a lump of sugar.. But thanks for the compliment lol
You're welcome handsome!! If youre ever in Dallas TX hit me up lol
@@zulmaochoa2849 lol you would love my yard. I have tons of bees I've attracting them with certain flowers n dandy lions
@@The_Raven_ thats awesome keep doing your part, i planted flowers outside my patio in my apartment
I think it'd be better to plant flowers to attract them.. no Beekeeper wants his bees putting neighbors sugar water in his honey supers.. something to think about, PLENTY of Herbs you can eat u can plant..
Apparently you live in the rainforest.. Ever hear of a dearth ?
@@resacarebel1868 yeah we have it done but I also know when you put a feeder out the bees make a beeline straight to it they don't just start pollinating all your flowers , that's why you plant flowers that bloom at different times or plants.. if you really wanna be technical you'd be better off using lemongrass oil only to attract them to your garden so they work your blooms.. a bee is never going to choose a bloom over a 5gallon bucket of syrup .. FACTS
How do you keep ants away from the sugar water?
That's almost impossible to do. I really limit the times I feed and change locations of feeders often
@@resacarebel1868can you do this to attract pollinators to your cucumber farm
How do you keep ants out of these?
That is almost impossible to accomplish. Ants are always in my feeders and my hives. I have just accepted that I can't stop the ants.
that helped a lot my friend thanks for the info
Thanks hoss
Can you use hummbird nectar instead of sugar
Sure can
My next question if you are using sugar do you have to boil the sugar in water. Can you just add the sugar to the container and shake it up will that work I am afraid that I will burn the sugar water.
@@resacarebel1868 my next QUESTION if you are using sugar do you have to boil it or can you just put the sugar in the container and shake it up really good
@@jasonclayton936 i think if you boil the water then mix in sugar that will work just fine
@@jasonclayton936 i think if you boil the water then mix in sugar that will work just fine
Place the feeder in a ring on cinnamon every time it dries after watering/rain. Keeps ants away. 🖖
My bees are killing my feeders right now.
628DirtRooster mine to I need to buy more sugar tomorrow I am out. 25 pounds a day at 9 bucks a pop adds up lol
