Women Empowerment Desk (WED) under SARD, Department of Finance (CTA) is happy to release a Tibetan movie, "DOLMA" on the occasion of domestic violence awareness month. The movie is supported under the Program for Protection and Humanitarian Assistance for Tibetan Refugees in South Asia. The program focuses on raising awareness and changing attitudes that perpetuate GBV and SEA by building an enabling environment for these changes. It also works towards strengthening the community structures and referral system to prevent GBV and SEA in Tibetan settlements and schools.
The movie, Dolma, focuses on the issue of sexual and gender based violence in our Tibetan community. It portrays the realities of the survivors of domestic violence and related issues and to understand better the cycle of the violence. It also depicts the factors that enable such violence in the community as well as overcoming them. Through this film WED aims to raise community awareness on various forms of GBV and SEA, the importance of overcoming it, available services for the same, etc.
Very happy to see that our community is acknowledging the existence of harassment and is moving forward towards women empowerment.pala, amla, ashang, ani, cho, acha, drokpo and drokmo.. lets end harassment at each house hold by putting victim as our priority concern..

I am not understand the language but i worked at EST no 22 in 1988.there some palmo dolma kelson wongmos are worke with me in exchange. Tibetian are not lazy

Very well played! 👍 Thanks to the film producer and actors. 🙏 Such films help to raise awareness, consciousness and provide an insight of the sexual exploitation of children and women in our community. Especially, small children are vulnerable and often fall victims to sexual assaults at homes, in schools and in various other institutions. It is in the interest and well-being of our future younger generations to bring up these social stigmas in the limelight. It is high time to be more upfront and speak the truth, rather than conniving facts! We need to overcome this tradition of sweeping filth under the carpet!
A complete eradication of Child Sexual Abuse and molestation may be a utopia but it is surely possible to reduce the number of cases. It is the responsibility and obligation of Central Tibetan Administration, schools/institutions and parents to shield and saveguard our children in all Tibetan institutions and at home. This breakthrough of curbing Child Sexual Abuse/molestation in our society as a whole could be achieved, only if all-hands strive and endeavour together in searching resolutions.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Too good. Any woman should not accept domestic violence at all. We need more education on this in the society. Teaching them not only about domestic violence also about what can be done. Thank you for the informative short film.

Am actually glad that our society is finally acknowledging the very existence of sexual harassment. Yea.. From start to end the movie gave me cold chills.. It's very powerful act depicting the very harsh reality in our community.
I only hope by watching this movie.. The one who is currently going through such hell of experience can muster up courage and speak about it and step forward and ask for help. Let's all punish such bastards..
This movie has a very good moral, all the mothers should educate their sons to respect the female in general, and mothers and children should share openly whatever is happening around plus be strong to leave where you don’t feel comfortable and safe. If one feels blocked then run away smartly is the option, this movie is an eye opener. The male actor is awesome and the female actor is very good too. Hats off to the whole team for such a good movie👍

So the over all movie or document was amazing for this generation's. It is so relevant. But I don't know why the ending is not suitable. It doesn't show how to face it like calling cop or getting help from other. Running for it is not end of problem.

tibetans in China enjoy free taxation, free housing and free higher education policy. But they cannot hang the portrait of Dalai Lama.
@@yeshiyangzom8532 it is because dalailama is a separatists in China .but since the 14th dalailama will change into a boy come back soon ,tibetan Chinese can hang the 15th dalailama's portrait ,the 14th and 15th are same anyway .

No warning of sexual misconduct, vulgar language and disclaimer is very disturbing and disappointing. All the artists are no doubt very talented. I honestly expected a totally different storyline. Definitely something you can't watch with children. However I do appreciate Women empowerment desk for touching this very important social issue. More awareness, resources and changing mindset will be helpful for those suffering in silence.
I think, from this action, children will get to know how bad touch appears like.
