There are detection circuits on the approach to the signals when the train is entering or exiting the yards. When the signalling system detects a train, it alerts the train controller of the presence of a train. The controller can then change the signal aspect themselves or leave it up to the computer controlled Automatic Route Setting (ARS) system.

Did you edited out radio communications because of privacy reasons and following strict PTA regulations?
It's a privacy request. The driver requested I edit their voice out.
