I think people forget how good Woodgate was, his career never took off after Leeds, Madrid don't come calling for just anyone but don't think he should have gone, hard to resist it though.

I had a season ticket at Newcastle when Woodgate was there. He was unbelievable! We’ve never had a defender as good since and probably won’t have another as good again. If it wasn’t for his injuries he would have been a regular for England.
