As a truck driver, I can also confirm you hear and see some creepy stuff out on these back roads at night. Been a couple times my yellow lab, who rides with me, had stopped mid potty time and raised his hair and growl at bushes and even up trees. It's always unnerving

I have my doubts about the grand canyon story. What sort of biologist notices fur samples from an unknown animal and doesn't collect them for analysis? It's not ideal material, but it's bound to have SOME genetic material worth checking.

That second story from South Africa is believable. Especially being that it takes place in Limpopo province. That part of South Africa is rife with stories of witchcraft.
I recently had started a horror story I hadn't heard before. It was about a group of 5 or 6 people who had gone hiking on a mountain and had had something happen and they were running short on supplies. They had then done some scouting around and 2 of them had spotted a village that had not been in their map. It had still been well populated as there was smoke rising from multiple houses. They had decided to head to the village to see if they would be able to get supplies and eat. When they did they had given them money for the supplies. They had asked the village if they could show them the path they had been on/looking for and they had said to wait for morning as it was late in the evening. But as they had presumed the village was the results of incest and some of the males had been eying 2 of the girls they dicided to leave and camp out in the woods overnight. About half way through the night a girl had shaken the main guy awake and as she did that he heard his friends saying "are you guys from the village?" With no response. When he looked out there was a group of people at least 5 or 6 that they could see standing on the ledge above them. Hoping there wasn't any more of the strange people. Pefore they disappeared out of sight. And thats where I left off. I was wondering if you might know the story or if someone else might know what its called or where to find it?

For the Grand Canyon story, american park rangers are required to not mention anything strange. If they see something they are forbidden for writing a report and even discussing it with other rangers are they will lose their job. Many park rangers have been attacked by these creaters but were not allowed to report it
I think it was actually a surviving jaguar the snarling and growling yellow eyes and a musky smell are all traits of a jaguar. Not to mention that jaguars used to hunt in Arizona until they were hunted and killed but it’s entirely possible that some weren’t found inside the canyon
The “werewolf” one I think is just a jaguar they’ve inhabited the Grand Canyon area in the past and I doubt many people killed every one that might have been in the canyon yellow eyes growling and snarling as well as a musky scent makes me think it’s actually the descendant of a jaguar that wasn’t hunted and killed.
I think I might know more or less the area where the story from south Africa takes place I live in the next town over and yes the witch doctors are a real problem here, alot of murders here are done for body parts for them.
