- Accidents can happen on the Thomas & Friends Harold's High Flying Rescue Set. This is a very different Trackmaster 2 Thomas train set, First up Thomas The Tank is not in this set, but Percy and Harold the helicopter are. This Trackmaster 2 train set is long and narrow and features a break-away disaster crash zone bridge that can be set up as a rescue area or continuous play. The most impressive part to this playset is the Harold rescue bridge area which moves on an arm to save Percy from disaster. It's a very dynamic, fun and eye catching toy. Because it's Thomas and Friends Trackmaster 2 there is elevation and a real sense of dangerous fun once you add some extra wagons to the trains on this playset. Having battles between Thomas & Percy is loads of fun and Gordon also has a play. This playset is based around the DVD Wild Water Rescue, and because the toy is in store before the DVD I have no idea if this toy is accurate to the DVD storyline. This Trackmaster train set was an Target exclusive and so much better than the previous Toys R Us exclusive set I showed in a previous Thomas video.

This Harolds High-Flying Rescue set has lots going for it, the few disappointments are the stock standard Percy, lack of Trackmaster track adaptors and lack of details on Harold The Helicopter. To make a point of this I show my collection of Harold's, Golden Bear, Take Along, ERTL, Wooden Railway, Tomy, Surprise Egg, Busy Books. All these other Harold's have window detailing, yet the Trackmaster 2 Harold has this missing. Come on Mattel stop being so cheap and nasty when making toys. These sorts of simple details really important and make the toy look far better. The price I quoted in the video is not correct. The Target full retail price is $79 in Australia, where toy prices are some of the highest in the world.

Price correction, this set cost $79 at Target oz, I said around $50. I notice Fisher Price toys now often have 40% off (blame the app generation), so if you're daring, wait till it's on special.

Really interesting video, this kind of set would never have been possible with Tomy Motor Road and Rail.
i loved watching this review! i loved the part where thomas and percy were fighting on the bridge and harold would come for the rescue and some times one of the engines would fall! sounds like something i would do a lot!
The original sets from 2014 had the "Connect to original trackmaster" thing, after 2015, nope, gone
Awesome video! This has to be one of the coolest Trackmaster 2 set yet because of its amazing action, thrill and destruction. Do you know what this set reminds me of, the Tomy Flying Harold Station set because of the action Harold does, and for a fact that he's doing something high in the air :)

This looks to be a far better set than that woeful Snowy Mountain thing, and as others have said, it's nice to see Trackmaster 2 sets that actually take advantage of the range's design choices in order to offer something new.
In regards to those roadway-esque crash barriers, it seems that Mattel's mentality in terms of the Thomas toylines is "work with what you know", which would explain the downplaying of rolling stock among other things; Mattel are treating the Thomas toylines like toy car ranges, and Trackmaster 2 shows us the benefits and drawbacks of this.
Rexeljet I now need to show you how my son plays with his Hot Wheels on Trackmaster 2 sets. I bet Mattel have this all mapped out. Pretty soon Thomas will appear as a Hot Wheels car, he's already got the pin style wheel axle ;)
leokimvideo Thomas as a Hot Wheels car would certainly be an interesting oddity if it were to be made. If Tomica can make a model of Thomas as a bus, then why not? I'd probably pick one up.

This is a cool set, I'm really impressed how this turned out! Much nicer than the Snow one. These are the kind of sets we like to see. Nice price, but I haven't seen this one in stores yet... Oh dear, the age of the adapter is over.

it’s interesting to see the harold collection, the only harold i own is the miniature ertl one and even that has more detail than the trackmaster 2 one
I've not seen this Harold's High Flying Rescue set before; I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.
I think it's the 'snow' on Thomas' side affecting his performance. Thomas may be faster, but he's not as strong, or maybe he's weaker than usual because of his run-in at the powdered-doughnut factory. When you crash off a sugar-high, you crash hard.
Lots of crashing and smashing in this video, I really rather like it. Function with Harold is nice too, though I wish the breakable bridge had some sort of railing- it looks a little plain without it.
Definitely think Percy should have had a shocked face as well. It's a shame. Packaging makes us expect one thing, we get another that doesn't quite live up to the hype. Ah well.

I've always had the same case w/ all the engines. I have 2 Thomas Locos, 1 Percy, and 1 Phillip. The Thomas that I first achieved w/ the Track Builder set's runs extremely fast. So does the Thomas from the Station Starter Set.
However, my Station Thomas goes slow over time, the Track Builder Thomas still blazes down the track

Percy has a higher torque producing motor than Thomas. This explains his slow speed but strong pulling and pushing capabilities. Seeing how he stalled and slid back when heavily weighted, it is a strong motor but it has it's limits.

Also, i can't believe that you brought out Hellen the helicopter from the box of old projects.
P.S. about the snowy rescue set, sometimes it's better to leave it alone then bring it back up again and again, but that's just my say

For the gear problem, just glue the 2 gears together so the engines have much more power

The gearing ratios are different the rule of thumb is if a small gear is driving a big gear the power goes up as speed goes down if the bigger gear is driving the smaller gear then the speed goes up as power goes down.

I think your missing a Harold from the trackmaster one original tidmoth sheds (red turntable, rc Thomas)
