Since Mikey has finished the DLC story, I hope to see him re-challenge the past trainers to see how they've powered up. Especially if he were to challenge (in either a League Club battle or in the Academy Ace Tournament) Geeta again!!!!!!!!!!! He would be quite somewhat impressed in having a rematch against her.
Michael has helped Kieran overcome his inferiority complex, and we'll see what's to come with the new Paradox Pokemon. Or maybe he'll see a new mythical Pokemon in Serebii and look forward to Pokemon Day next year.
If you use Ogerpon during the fight with Kieran, he will be pissed off and say something like 'You've got some nerve bringing out that orge now of all times?!'
To explain Tera Shell, it's kind of like Multiscale in that it only works when Terapagos is at full HP. Instead of reducing damage however, it makes it so that all attacks are resisted (except Ghost which it's already immune to). As for Tera Starstorm, when the user is the Stellar type, it becomes super effective against Terastallized targets. When used by Terapagos in its final form, it becomes a spread move.
You forgot to mention that when Terapagos has Stellar Terastalized, Tera Starstorm deals neutral damage to all non-Terastalized Pokemon; and yes, Terastalized Pokemon receive supereffective damage Stellar-type Tera Blast works actually the same, minus targeting both opponents in Doubles, and has its' base power increased to 100, but it lowers user's Attack and Special Attack by one stage. Which is a bit sad, but otherwise it would be broken as hell, ESPECIALLY since every Pokemon in Paldea Pokedex (barring Magikarp, Ditto and Terapagos) can learn it. But Contrary Pokemon certainly benefit from it.
Transitioning from when we last fought Kieran many times up to now, practically no one of Kieran's past team members remained except Dipplin evolving into Hydrapple {except for the slight change in the Poli-family} - Makes me wonder that when Kieran is "back to normal," I am curious what his real regular main team will be if rematched?
@@TwilightChomperEnthusiast Read more at your own risk - It's ok. I'm well aware of Mochi Mayhem. Albeit, all I got to see up close when Kieran fights is just Poliwrath, Porygon-Z, Grimmsnarl, & Hydrapple. It only changed Politoed with Poliwrath again. If only the last 2 were shown
I was overleveled, yes, but luck also decided to choose me. I crit like four times, and half of those were off of a single Make It Rain. It was pretty funny, but I kinda feel bad; Kieran was _not_ mentally okay.
I was full 100s but that didn't make the previous ones much easier. These battles were legit tough (I didn't EV train or anything this was my main game team plus Ogrepon) Kind of makes it feel crueller. Kieran looses to you the worst despite everything. I'm just glad he comes around in the end. Couldn't take it if we left him just broken
For those who don't know. Stellar type keeps your Pokemon's original typings, but also provides a boost to all it's moves, regardless of types, but only for one turn.
so its a one time stab boost? i guess its mostly useful cause it doesnt change your type, so if you want to, say, boost an electric move but not gain weakness to ground.
Its once PER type. So lets say your mon has 4 different types of moves, all the types get a boost once. Thats why stellar is best used on diverse movesets
I'd imagine kinda useless unless you got a very niche idea. Like trying to abuse a Contrary ability Pokemon with it. Because if your pokemon is in its Tera Stellar form and you use Tera Blast, your attack and sp attack drop 1 level as a trade off for the "Its gonna be effective no matter what Tera Type your opponent has so long as they're terastalized to begin with" thing. So you can imagine this being fun for Contrary users. @@jonathangoodwin5609
Since there's so much double battling here, I'd like to see how well slush rush Cetitan works alongside Ninetails. I feel like there's potential for a good ice team you could run.

I have to say, during that final scenario, I just felt *so bad* for poor Terapagos! Drayton is my favourite character from this dlc, carmin and kieran are close 2nd and 3rd respectively, but man that kieran catching tarapagos instantly with the masterball has got to be one of the craziest moments in pokemon games, like bro that was so sudden and no one saw it coming too, like i know he was saying all the time that he'll catch tarapagos but i didn't expected him to do so in such a manner. Also gamefreak really needed to nerf keiran with that goofy ahh politoed and breaking his masterball.
Kieran is no joke. Even though yes, my team wasn't the best or competitively built, I got crushed the first 3 times I tried beating him. Good job to you for beating him first try lol Edit: I reworked my team a bit, swapping my Exeggutor for a Malamar with Superpower and (Contradict?) and my Alolan Golem was swapped for Iron Hands built for doubles better. I'm not going to re-switch afterwards. I gave my Archaludon a better ability(Stamina) and leveled up my team a lot. When I caught the tera type Duraludon, he was fighting type and I kept it like that so Body Press is extra nasty. I was able to sweep him easily on my fourth try, losing only Iron Hands due to him not really being great anyway and me forgetting to teach him Protect.
I felt so sorry for Kieran after I beat him. Poor kid. I’m glad he goes back to the way he was before but now he’s going to be more confident in himself. Now I’m not sure what I should do next.
They explained that anyone that beats the BB League gets one right as you’re handed one of your own, so that’s where Kiki got it from, more than likely.
Tera shift only turns Terapagos into it's terastal form for the rest of the battle. While it's in this form, it's ability becomes tera shell, which makes it resist all damaging moves when it's at full health, similar to multiscale.
Oh there’s a cool Treasure after completing the DLC story. You need to get the Flying Upgrade/ Meal for the Ride Mon, to fight a Stellar Garchomp to unlock the Crystal Gate.
I’m really glad Mikey defeated Terapagos first try. I lost on my first attempt and I have to utilize my competitive team to beat that frickin turtle lol
Great vid MIKEY. I was think of an idea and wanted to share it for a possible video with John. Hide and seek synchro I think would be cool, one person chooses a location and has to try and blend in with other Pokemon and the seeker has 3 guesses to try and identify which Pokemon they are, a bit like prop hunt. I hope you’ll consider my idea ❤
I was inititally expecting some Toxic Chain/ corruption aspect to Kieran. But honestly that being more of a red harring. It also makes it more human I suppose. Theres no outside and magical influence. Its entirely just human anxiety, obsession and insecurities. I love that with Kieran cause he is flawed. He has issues but isnt exactly evil. He has flaws but hes not a monster. I find it interesting how he has sinilar things with Blue. Its cruel how Blue loses his title by the time Oak arrives and Oak chews him out for losing. Kieran feels like a human response. I'm looking at him probably having some severe anxiety and likely autsitic. He has these obsessions woth strength and frankly Carmine yelling at him. Even if fairly typical sibling behaviour hits him hard. He may not read it as she intends. So as far as he sees hes just being bullied by one of the closest thing to a friend he has. Give him some therapy and a Rotom Phone. Let him keepnin touch with you and he can improve. He's a good character that's damaged but improving. Im hoping we get him and our Paladea crew meeting up. I do love the ending and the 'new dawn' metaphor in the final cutscene. Was hoping we get the end scene with Kieran and the player having a hug and being happy for it. All in all love Kieran's character and hope we get more of him
People were expecting that the professor would end up having been controlled or influenced by some outside force as well but that too was just their own paranoia and obsession.
I mean Mikey makes a good point about our character being 'scared' because the first time we went to the 'bottom' of Area Zero; we found the AI version of the dead parent of one of our buddies that had a device capable of warping time itself and we had to stop it! Not to mention the additional trip to capture the more violet version of the ride Pokemon we used throughout the game that apparently KILLED Arven's parent! However, the DLC characters look at this as a fun little field trip with an eccentric scientist, an overly enthusiastic gal pal and her vengeful brother...
Ok We have now seen that Game Freak knows how to tell an amazing story. We have seen that when they try, they can make incredibly cinematic cutscenes. We have even seen them make giant, incredible open worlds that just needed more time for bug fixes So for the love of God can we PLEASE GET SOME DAM VOICE ACTING?!?
Fun fact: they actually fixed geeta, her Ace and last Pokemon that she uses is actually king Gambit now, she has a chestnaut, and not to mention that her previous Ace is now the Pokemon that she leads with. So thankfully and hopefully, she's not the weakest champion in Pokemon history now 😅
Honestly, she never was. That is and has been Lance. Especially in Gen 4. My No Guard Machamp with Rockslide swept his team. And this was before i would do ANY EV training. If you're playing scarlet and don't pick Fuecoco, Geeta can be a nightmare, as shown when Mikey and John did that race to beat the champ awhile ago. Is the Post Indigo Disk team better, and better laid out? Yes, but her team comp was never BAD. It was just suboptimal.
9:36 Not gonna lie at first I was kinda mad at Drayton for that, but then i thought about how much of an a-hole Kieran was being to everyone in the academy just because we have Ogerpon and he doesnt and it just made me love that epic roast even more.
Yeah, that twist of the knife was completely necessary and justified after Kieran's behavior. That shitty brat lorded over the club as an outright dictator and basically ruined it for everyone else. I haven't been this happy to crush an NPC's hopes and dreams since Ghstsis.
Seriously? I mean, he needed a reality check, because according to his room, his obsession with becoming stronger was unhealthy, but really? He was an awkward child with a well meaning but abrasive sister who essentially became our friend instantly until we lied to him and broke his dreams the first time. Then, he dedicates a ridiculous amount of training to beating us when he sees us again, he loses to us, an exchange student, which screws up the BB rankings, and even then, he tries to be nice, goes down a crystal death hole with us, the treasure immediately chooses us because we have main character power, he catches it with a Master Ball, he loses, terastallizes it, it tries to murder him, he immediately learns the error of his ways and is having a guilt induced panic attack until he snaps out of it and helps us beat said crystal turtle, and reveals his true feelings and asks for our apology. That’s on the same level as the terroristic dictator whi wants to control people and Pokémon using liberation as a facade, manipulating a young boy into becoming his pawn, and then attempting to murder a child, and then again in the next game? Those are very different crimes. One is a child with an inferiority complex and feeling of betrayal that isn’t even so much mad as he is envious of what is handed to us, who redeems himself very quickly, and the other is arguably the most evil villain in Pokémon to date.
40:39 tera starstorm suddenly dealing a super effective hit makes this feel like a protean style scenario, so it changes its type to the type of the last used move.
Tera Starstorm is a Normal-type move, but when Terapagos has Terastalized into "Stellar" type, the move deals typeless damage. But against Terastalized opponents, it deals super effective damage
I love how 34:35 is jarringly reminiscent of the scene in legends arcoos at spear pillar where dialga/palkia protects you from the other's origin form. Except that this time the player chose to save Kieran, not the actual pokemon (altho I'm sure the Agias duo (thanks steel e4 member) would choose to save Kieran)
Dude, The Indigo Disk may have made Scarlet/Violet one of, if not the best Pokemon games out there, storywise at least. I mean, not even Arcoos, a freaking god, could ever escape a Master Ball. To be fair, I suppose Kierin did successfully catch Terapagos in the Master Ball. But not even Arcoos could break free from a Master Ball and destroy it in the way Terapagos did. Perhaps the Paradox Pokemon will be either in Post Game or revealed in special event Tera Raids like Walking Wake/Iron Leaves. I'm willing to bet Post Game, since the aforementioned Pokemon are in the BB Pokedex.
I think that Arceus could if he wanted to. Most powerful legendaries can. But a human who would stand against godly figures is amusing, and we have ways of getting legendaries what they want, so they let us capture them.
@@jacksonvoet8312 To be fair, in the case of Arceus at least, what we encounter is just an avatar of the actual entity. It's probably a similar case with Giratina too. And at least in some of those cases, I'm sure they in part respect your power. You're just so badass that even gods will recognize your power.
I was really surprised there was no Toxic Chain shenanigans either, or that things didn't go way worse with Kieran since Drayton and Briar were completely ignoring the fact he was having a breakdown and throwing salt in the wound. (Like, between the whole Ogerpon debacle and the humiliation of the Champion battle - ESPECIALLY if you bring Ogerpon -, I was kinda thinking he might snap _worse_ and attempt to kill the player, potentially under the influence of the Chains messing with his head. But, nah, he starts kinda behaving like his old, dorky self again during the Area Zero portion, tho that obsessiveness with Terapagos backfires in a way he didn't really expect or want.
Drayton seems to imply that Kieran was pretty rude until we showed up, so he was just wearing that out, but yeah. He uses Ex-Champion as a term of semi endearment now. And Briar is just ridiculously dense.
I ended up using my main team (Quaquaval, Rabsca, Annihilape, Tinkaton, Scovillain, and Roaring Moon) but I intended to use Alolan Muk, Archaludon, Hydrapple, Flygon, Toucannon, and Zebstrika.
I used a Kommo-o, poliwrath, golurk, hitmonlee, shiny whimsicott and a slot filling palkie because I couldn't be bothered to actually build another Pokémon.

That was such a low blow. Even if it was more tired and waking up or imprinting like a new born. Kieran sees the pokemon he wanted again go to the player.
Even the magic rock turtle wants to kick his self esteem. Poor boy he tried. Wonder if I can give him one of my Master Balls as a replacement. Cheer him up

And in the future there’s gonna be an event where you catch pecharunt but first have to save kitakami
If you use Ogerpon during the fight with Kieran, he will be pissed off and say something like 'You've got some nerve bringing out that orge now of all times?!'
So it turns out Briar isn't evil,
she's just really excitable and....kinda dumb.
Rika scolding us for going into Area Zero made me audibly go “oh yeah almost forgot I did that; time flies huh”
You forgot to mention that when Terapagos has Stellar Terastalized, Tera Starstorm deals neutral damage to all non-Terastalized Pokemon; and yes, Terastalized Pokemon receive supereffective damage
Stellar-type Tera Blast works actually the same, minus targeting both opponents in Doubles, and has its' base power increased to 100, but it lowers user's Attack and Special Attack by one stage. Which is a bit sad, but otherwise it would be broken as hell, ESPECIALLY since every Pokemon in Paldea Pokedex (barring Magikarp, Ditto and Terapagos) can learn it. But Contrary Pokemon certainly benefit from it.
Transitioning from when we last fought Kieran many times up to now, practically no one of Kieran's past team members remained except Dipplin evolving into Hydrapple {except for the slight change in the Poli-family}
- Makes me wonder that when Kieran is "back to normal," I am curious what his real regular main team will be if rematched?

I think he has Poliwrath back in the Pecharunt event, so I do believe that he has his original team.

- It's ok. I'm well aware of Mochi Mayhem. Albeit, all I got to see up close when Kieran fights is just Poliwrath, Porygon-Z, Grimmsnarl, & Hydrapple. It only changed Politoed with Poliwrath again. If only the last 2 were shown
Well at least now we knew in the Club room he still loves them. But mb not in the real match since he's in competitive school anyway.

I crit like four times, and half of those were off of a single Make It Rain. It was pretty funny, but I kinda feel bad; Kieran was _not_ mentally okay.
@@WhirlyBeepBoops yea that does suck
I was full 100s but that didn't make the previous ones much easier. These battles were legit tough (I didn't EV train or anything this was my main game team plus Ogrepon)

Same, I just had my archaludon use electro shot every rain turn to blast through his team lol
And it does extra damage to tera pokemon. And that one time boost is just infinite when you're in a tera raid
So basically useless.

Michael there is still two key things you have to do. One is get the ability to fly around from one of the steel elite four girl and fly up to the Tera ball in the terrarium to get some insane items. Two is take terapagos to the crystal pool in kitakami, I won’t spoil what happens there.
Plus, looking around the lobby of Niranja academy for certain NPCs

part 3 was recorded as two episodes but they were both too short so we had to combine them, but I didn't know until after recording this

Tera Shift is Multiscale.
Oh yeah, Go Do Perrin's Quest for some goodies.
The foreshadowing of everyone who becomes champion in BB league was great to then realize how he even has one
drayton is the deffiniton of "pour salt on the wound to immediately escalate the pain"
Also, pay close attention to Kieran’s eyes before and during the Terapagos fight.
Kieran is no joke. Even though yes, my team wasn't the best or competitively built, I got crushed the first 3 times I tried beating him. Good job to you for beating him first try lol
Edit: I reworked my team a bit, swapping my Exeggutor for a Malamar with Superpower and (Contradict?) and my Alolan Golem was swapped for Iron Hands built for doubles better.
I lost 5 pokemon to him while fighting him with MY TRUE 6x100 TEAM
I felt so sorry for Kieran after I beat him. Poor kid. I’m glad he goes back to the way he was before but now he’s going to be more confident in himself. Now I’m not sure what I should do next.
Never have I questioned more where a child in the pokemon universe got a masterball from as I have on this day
They explained that anyone that beats the BB League gets one right as you’re handed one of your own, so that’s where Kiki got it from, more than likely.

now that you’ve beaten the dlc’s story, you should go to the crystal pool with terapagos in your party
Kieran was is a badass man really said hold this master ball
Tera shift only turns Terapagos into it's terastal form for the rest of the battle. While it's in this form, it's ability becomes tera shell, which makes it resist all damaging moves when it's at full health, similar to multiscale.
Oh there’s a cool Treasure after completing the DLC story. You need to get the Flying Upgrade/ Meal for the Ride Mon, to fight a Stellar Garchomp to unlock the Crystal Gate.
Where is the Stellar Garchomp
I’m really glad Mikey defeated Terapagos first try. I lost on my first attempt and I have to utilize my competitive team to beat that frickin turtle lol
Just finished the DLC last night, pretty decent
Kieran’s theme is the best one I’ve heard and the guitar is insane!
Drayton has been my favorite every since he was introduced
You went to area zero without the authorization of the league. “Permission from the league, I am the league!”.
Rika: You went into Area Zero without permission, didn't you?!
My 4 shiny Iron Hands:
Ok
We have now seen that Game Freak knows how to tell an amazing story. We have seen that when they try, they can make incredibly cinematic cutscenes. We have even seen them make giant, incredible open worlds that just needed more time for bug fixes
So for the love of God can we PLEASE GET SOME DAM VOICE ACTING?!?
Fun fact: if you Bring out Ogerpon Against keiran in the final fight he will say "You have some nerve to bring out that oger all times but now"
i like how kieran basically became one of those legendary spammers, who think a legendary pokemon team is the only way to win every fight.
You should take Terapagos to the crystal pool in kitkami a certain cutscene will play out
40:39 tera starstorm suddenly dealing a super effective hit makes this feel like a protean style scenario, so it changes its type to the type of the last used move.

I think Terapagos should go to Kieran. He kinda deserves to have a legendary Pokemon after he lost everything he wanted.
he lost it because he was an entitled little brat who thought he was owed Ogerpon. It's his own fault.

The Kieran fight was SO anticipated, i was so scary the first time battling it... just ended up doing gay duck sweep
Don't forget the Mochi Mayhem quest in Kitakami in which you catch the Trio Master of the "Loyal" Three.
I don’t think that’s available yet unless you’re willing to hack the event item into your game, though…
