I like this because you're so much more focused on what your reading and you have proof that you are using this system consistently and long-term. Most videos I see are more about making pretty graphs and artful journals-which I don't mind, it seems like a fun, cathartic experience-however, what I wanted to see was a way in which someone truly reflected back on what they read and thought critically about how what they read connects to themselves or to other things they have read or seen.
Thank you for saving me a comment! This was exactly what I thought upon watching this video. I love looking at all the "artsy" reading journals. People are amazingly creative! But it does get to the point where it seems more about the art and less about the books. And I am not creative/artsy at all, so I could never make that type of journal. This was exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for.
I finally came across the type of reading journal I’m looking for! A lot of reading journals on booktube seem more like reading logs, and while they’re very creative and gorgeous, I haven’t seen many that held notes, thoughts, and reflections on the books themselves. I wanted to start a reading journal/notes this year and this vid gave me some good ideas on structuring it, so thank you for sharing. Your handwriting is beautiful btw!
An old video, but thank you! This is the type of reading journal I've been hoping to find and this is the first time I've found it. For my reading, I've been keeping just a list online. But the more books I have read in my life (and the older I get) the more I'm realizing that I don't remember books very well anymore by just the title/author. I need a better system. I'm not sure if I'm ready to go this far, but it gives me ideas of where to start. I love that people do this! It make me feel not so alone in my book geekiness.
es raro encontrar videos hablados en inglés de una persona que escribe en español :0 i need a video about your handwriting, la amé, is just so neat and beautiful 🤩
I found this helpful as I ponder how to design my own system. Thank you. In response to the question you set: I'd go for the final section being a set of visually attractive reminders of the books I have especially enjoyed and how and why I found them inspiring. I might even be tempted to frame some of these book or author reminders and have them as wall hangings in my study or summerhouse. Thanks for getting me thinking. :-)
Thanks for the idea about the Roger Fadden? notebook. I like the bigger size of it but I couldn’t find it on the internet. Could you send a link to buy one please. Im picky with paper too but i can replace the inners. Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing this!! how do you organize your notes if you are reading more than one book? Do you usually like to have one book grouped together or do you not mind having notes mixing with your other books? I hope this question makes sense!
I usually read two books at a time. That is why I keep my notes in two notebooks. That way I can write as I read without having mixed notes. Once I finish a book, and therefore my notes on that book, I start a new section.

Having a biography of favorite authors is such a great idea!! I might do that in my commonplace book! Love your ideas

Love your video. I’ve picked up so many ideas that I want to try. I love what you do taking your time while you read. Thank you for the video.

where and how do you store all your notebooks?
I have space in my bookshelf for notebooks :)
