Really this video ( from 3 years prior to this comment ) is on point. Gripping strategies are something so important, and yet so seldom taught ( according to my experience ). I reckon good players have a lot of games : tall player game, small player game, righty, lefty ... there is so much to learn ! Judo is great.
;) Did judô, between 3 to 8, orange belt Brazil and later a little more, came back now at 24, being successful with O goshi, Tai otoshi and Ura nage and some other throws I never did, crazy... 5'3/ 161,5cm at 55kg From my old best throws, Osoto and Ippon, so far could only throw one Osoto today 🥴🤣 I was perplexed about my judo, no more... "To know oneself is to master yourself , to master - is to triumph ."
I'm like 5'7, so I have a lot of difficulties with throws and takedowns. Osoto is not going to happen with bigger guys, and when I try a turn throw, they just lift me up, or drop me with a tani otoshi. I often go for sacrifice throws.
5:44 what's with the laboured breathing noise from nearby the camera? 😹 This was an informative video and I appreciate the respect you have for one another!
probably just abuse your longer reach your arms and legs are longer so you can essentially stiff arm the other guy uchi mata would be great since you have longer legs
