This was a great video. It’s sad that people continue to vandalize cemeteries, but volunteers & people like those at Atlas Preservation are instrumental in restoring the damage safely. Thank you for sharing.

Nothing good will ever come from the vandalism of a grave. Those involved will understand as they have placed some bad vibes on themselves that will follow them for a lifetime.

I used to live in Waxahachie. This cemetery is right off their big hike and bike path, and they've had problems with people causing trouble. Glad to see these damaged stones getting fixed though!

Again, superb video. Great editing. The music was very low, just as it should be. The mixing in of Jonathan’s work and the drone footage made for a great video.

I love what you are doing to clean and restore gravestones. What do you use to clean headstones? I would like to work on cleaning the headstones at my church cemetery. A large group of them are 250 yrs old.

I'm glad to hear y'all are working to restore them. 🙏
We had similar vandals around Anzac Day, (25th April our day to honour our fallen). 😔🙏⚘🦘

Excellent video. Special thanks to all those helping to restore this cemetery. Be sure to check out Concordia Cemetery in El Paso, Texas if you ever get further west.

I live in north central Texas and it's very common at old rural cemeterys here. Id love to catch them in the act.

I remember when this happened. I was so angry that someone would disrespect the families of the deceased like that.

Absolutely SHAMEFUL!!! I love visiting cemeteries/graveyards because they are so peaceful and full of history. How very evil for anyone to do such a thing. So grateful for all who cared enough to go out to bring awareness to this atrocity and to make every effort to repair the damage. God knows who did this and I hope the vandals are found. Prison is too good for the disrespectful. 😢 🙏

Isn't it seriously BAD LUCK FROM HECK to vandalize a grave like that?
I always thought if you vandalize a tombstone you would suffer a punishment that would make any torcher look like a frat party.

I like how she casually just says "people were farmers here" and like totally glosses over WHO did any of the actual farming.

You would think with modern technology, google, videos, cell tracking, police use cell pinging in an area for a certain time period and find the people in that area..., what about old fashioned finger prints ?

My daddy always said hell is a very hot place. I say that every time I hear about someone destroying a grave or stealing from graves two old ladies stold a heart shaped pillow from my late mother's grave in 88 and they both died within the year, I believe that was God punishing them for doing it so all I can say is God will punish the ones who do that.

  • @andrewbrenneman9592
    @andrewbrenneman9592 Рік тому

My punishment would be 30k fine & 25 yrs prison for damaging ANY CEMETARY HEADSTONE, STATUE, OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGE. Once some are charged 30k & face prison. Maybe the message will be sent that this will not be tolerated.
(My personal opinion for extreme punishments. And punishment could be harsher if needed)

given the cotton wealth and the particular vintage and location of the graves, sounds like the vandalism may well have been justified. now i'm curious if they were enslaver gravestones or not

What good is destroying the resting places of the dead? They got there final judgement years ago. No good comes from trying to punish people not of this world. It looks petty and ignorant.

@gaupt51 well, if it's OK to bring religion (without any cause) into the vandalism discussion, why not race, too?
