I just ordered your sticker for this adapter. I still havent decided on a MB diesel engine yet. It will replace the 351w in my '96 Ford F-250 w/5-speed ZF manual trans.. I'm currently researching the following: OM602, OM603, & OM606. I'm not looking for max power. I use this truck mostly for light-duty. My primary goal is MPG. Currently, it's around 11 with the factory 5.8L. Anyway, great info you've provided here!!
Hi Joe, Great to learn about NA 606 flexplate. I'm in the process of doing a one-off (for myself) adaptation of turbo 606 to 4t80e transaxle. The solid disk style flexplate of the na 606 is just what I need ! I can easily drill out for my GM torque converter studs. Thanks so much for the tip, subscribed. You do great work and produce really good videos. I'm retired in Maine and wishing you continuing success persuing your dream. Ross
Joe u keep doing what works for u and keep bringing quality videos. The good thing about the world is everyone has ideas, the bad thing about youtube comment sections. Even the ppl with no clue how to work on cars can comment stupid stuff. I'm a huge fan of the diesel mercedes world and all the parts and ingenuity of all the ppl like Doomsday Joe. Or even peachparts for having gasket sets. And not trying to rob ppl blind. I have seen some parts on ebay be sold for GOLD prices just cuz it says mercedes and the parts are used at that. My project is a ranger. I originally thought of 4bt Cummins but there's too much hillbilly nonsense mixed in that it forced me to pick mercedes diesel. And thankfully there's ppl like Joe doing big things. I didn't even know about the guys doing things like Joe before I got my motor. I thought I was gonna have to order a mercedes transmission too. I for 1 am thankful for ppl like Joe with that type of ingenuity. Do u Joe, u ain't even gotta respond to the idiots!
Oh and the big bonus, no chance of ordering parts and the container falling in the ocean on its trip across the pond! I don't see the point of ordering parts from places like Latvia cuz it has to cross alot of water to get to USA.
@@ECKO417 people spreading misinformation just because they like to hear themselves talk drives me nuts. I've seen people break some expensive parts because of it (OM60X left handed thread on the injection pump drive gear for example). Otherwise, ya, I just ignore the stupidity best I can.
Hey joe i have the om603 to sbf kit and there is a spacer washer in it so is that used? I pull the flex plate off and leave the flywheel on then install new spacer from kit the crank adapter then the flywheel adapter? Thanks bud!
Is there going to be any issues where clutch fork free play needs to be measured to make sure that the clutch isn't going to slip or has that already been factored in ie. Is there any chance that I will need to have the adapt plate machined Io accommodate for the clutch fork being too close to the release bearing. I have read some horror stories about other companies who did not factor this into their plate when it was manufactured. I am just thinking out loud before I drop the ball on something that costs over a thousand dollars. Also, any ideas on how to use the factory jeep wrangler engine mounts
@@OtisDavies-cv6ze the adapter from recreates the back end of a 4.0L, so your clutch will think it's behind a 4.0L. I offer bolt-in motor mounts for the Jeep MJ/XJ and DIY plates for the Wranglers.
Does having the two "flywheels" affect anything? or the offset by the crank adapter to the jeep flywheel? Is the 606 more sensitive to match balancing compared to the 617? Meaning would it be more critical to balance the 60x crank vs a 617s?
“I’m so happy to be sharing this video with you.” Literally dying with the monotone delivery and deadpan look you gave. Hell yeah
You're the man Joe! The "diesel swap the world" community is very fortunate to have you!
Thanks for a another detailed, no BS video. It is much appreciated.

The added weight is beautiful for a 4x4
Hey man! Do you guys offer an adapter for the jeep TJ 5 speed manual transmission? I believe it's an NV3550.
Nevermind lol I read thru your site and the kit does fit! Fantastic, I can't wait to get this swap started🤙 thanks man.
🦾🎩👆🏾
And does any of your adapter fit up to any 6 speed manual? I see the notes on your website about the RA60 not fitting.....
Had no idea these existed. Will it fit a OM629?
