    Thanks Craig for showing also the backoffice :) I know nothing about this but I can imagine how wonderful it must be to create your own music with these tools. The software looks amazing 👌

    would you possibily be able to share the cuebase template ?

    You're amazing! Thanks for this video response and really appreciate you showing how you're using this reverb thus far. Makes sense why you used the tree mics and then disabled it in the plugin (because the tree mics are already the real thing in air lyndhurst) and then you get that glorious reverb tail using the plugin as a send. For non spitfire instruments / not already in Air studios, would you use the tree mic in the plugin and also maybe use it as an insert so all the dry and wet is process in plugin?

      I would still send to a reverb bus, but yes, turn on all the mics. I would make the send a pre-fader (assuming I am sending a pretty dry signal), and then mix in the dry signal with the fader itself.

    How's the CPU Usage?

    • @craigwentworthmusic
      @craigwentworthmusic  8 місяців тому

      I've honestly noticed no issues since replacing every instance of Seventh Heaven Pro with this... And I have about 12 instances running at the moment.

      @@craigwentworthmusic No CPU issues with several send instances on each track, although, the more tracks you have like that?, you know the story. Spitfire have already done an update, and another one is in the making to address any further CPU usage problems. There is so much under the hood for artistic flexibility, which wowed a Reverb nut like me immediately. Hours of fun to be had.

    Thank you for this video, Air reverb looks really great. I have a question, do you have to use an aux output for each instrument? Thank you again for everything.

    • @craigwentworthmusic
      @craigwentworthmusic  8 місяців тому +3

      You do not have to. In this example, I bus all instruments of a common type (for example all the Cellos in the world used in this piece) to a single group -- so I have a Cellos group that all the Cello VSTs feed into. Then I send that Cellos GROUP to a single reverb aux (for strings).
      However... for fun... I am now changing the signal flow of my template, so that all instruments will have their own sends to both reverb and parallel compression.

    Hey Craig, awesome stuff really amazing sonically. Quick question: as a beginner and hobbyist would you recommend the new Air Studios Reverb to get a cohesive mixed sound through different libraries without much effort (using mainly presets in the beginning at least).

      @craigwentworthmusic  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey there! Thank you! To answer your question (and not quickly), I think you COULD use it, but if you ARE a beginner, I don't think you NEED to. There are some really great (and much cheaper) reverbs out there (like Valhalla, which I still use, btw!) that you can use - and learn how to use - to create sonic cohesion. By the same token, a lot of libraries already have reverb built in (the Spitfire stuff is largely recorded at Air anyway, for example). So you don't need to add much reverb to them because they already sound good.
      If I could start as a beginner again, I'd play around with your DAW's built-in reverbs and focus on adding some tail to your sounds to gel stuff together. At least before you go spending lots of money on a 'push button" solution (which, when I've got into the weeds, AIR is not, btw - it needs some tweaking).
      But look, all of this is very subjective. "Sound", or crafting "a sound" is very personal and is also about so much more than just reverb. EQ, panning, balance, all factor into creating a cohesive mix. Reverb, of whatever plugin or hardware form, is just another piece of the big aural puzzle.
      All this said, AIR works for me because I've mostly been trying to become Hans Zimmer circa 1990, so I'm happy to have a tool that can put all my shit into his favored recording space with his favored setup... But I guess what I'm trying to say in a roundabout way is... Try not to think of these amazing tools with great presets as a quick fix. When I finally decided I really needed to learn and understand the power of smart EQ and balance, how to mix and master, and took the time to work on that, only then did my sound actually improve. And I did that for years WITHOUT Air Studios Reverb.
      Long diatribe! But I hope it helps! Thanks for the great question 👍

      @@craigwentworthmusic awesome Craig, much appreciated. Fully agreed I still have lots to learn in this space and yes it's of course an investment :) I still haven't decided but your input helps me a great deal. I typically just love the quality of Spitfire products and even though I have many libraries that are cheaper alternatives let's say: Nucleus and others I was hoping this plugin would help me elevate those with a great sounding room as the samples themselves are of pretty good quality (especially for a beginner/hobbyist)

      @@vincentschuijt9778 I am very much a Spitfire guy, so there is beauty in being able to put non-Spitfire libraries into a Spitfire space. I definitely understand the attraction to that 🙂

      @@craigwentworthmusic His introduction wasnt the best, however he is correct. The best way to analyze your video before release is to pick atleast 20 random time points, and if they all land on more dialogue then music, you may reconsider editing or redoing your video to balance it out.
