I haven't done welding process FEA Yet, but i hope its a fun stuff as well. Usually the first thing to start off is a research paper. Download a couple on the topic and then select 1 you think is nearest to your topic. Then try to simulate that. Usually reading from ANSYS/ABAQUS documentation helps alot :)
Hello Sir AApne Assembly import kia hai na? I have alse imported the assembly in x_b format but problem aarahi hai ki part me sirf ek hi spur gear dikha raha hai. Doosra spur gear ka option hi nahi aaraha hai!?
Hi Raj! You can use only 1 gear to import same part twice in assembly. just make sure you are looking at assembly tab and not parts tab because 1. if you imported an assembly - two gears. 2. then it should show two gears in assembly and individual in parts. Let me know if it works out. Thanks,
Hey could you please share the file on solidworks for the gears so i can use the same one and try to do stress analysis on abaqus or maybe if you have a video for the gear design on solidworks that you exported to either abaqus or ansys will be great

DesignHyper I have managed to get to the point until you have came on the video roughly around 13:00 however after that point you have mentioned increasing the speed of the gear rotation could you please explain how I can change the velocity as well so I can get mises stress in positive MPa. It would really help if you can maybe email me my email is: uyanik-tufan@hotmail.com and I have used solidworks 2019 but had to design the gear from toolbox and all good with that part just the rotation of the gear at certain speed is the problem

@@tufanuyanik1096 :) Can you please elaborate the problem you have? Once you have the contacts set up and working fine then increasing the speed can affect results. DesignHyper thank you for your reply. I am trying to do dynamic analysis and also static analysis on abaqus for two spur gears. I am trying to rotate the gear in around 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 and 3500 rpm and at the same time pinion will rotate accordingly. Throughout this I am trying to analyse the contact stress ( Mises ) maximum and compare this to hertzian contact stress that I have done on paper for the same spur gears with same dimensions and measurements. However I am stuck with setting up the boundary condition for the rotational speed for the gear. I have spoken to my supervisor and he recommended to apply moment on the gear but that doesnt seem to work too. I just need a bit guidance of applying the rpm to the gear. I have also added you on skype i would not mind if we can speak there too. Thank you

how to assemble two gears in abaqus ?
1. have one gear as part.
2. insert it in assembly twice.
3. move one gear to the center distance(calculated)
4. rotate so the gear meshes.
