@@surojitguha got a 1.2 TSI match edition with cruise control, parking sensors. For 2.5 yrs now as a runaround car it's been great. No problems experienced. Only negative is condensation on inside windscreen during winter.

I have recently bought this exact model (1.2 litre petrol, Highline, toffee brown). I love everything about this car---the styling, the comfort, the overall performance, the technology that has gone into making this icon car. In fact, almost everything about this car is awesome . My only complaint concerns the car's audio performance. The speakers sound horrible. The audio quality sucks big time.

Thanks for the appreciation . I have been to goa by road from pune the car behaved very nicely, we were cruising at 145 km/hr no problem there. As for city performance its good and there is a noticeable difference in mileage between city and highway conditions .

traction is amazing .pickup is pretty decent , never really felt any lag there, compared to other cars it holds the road nicely as well.
Can you share you speed bracket range? At what speed level you change your gears for 1,2,3,4 and 5? I find it very difficult to reach 80+ on fifth gear.

Lot of inaccurate information about the features.
Eg.: Auto a/c does not decide the temperature. You select the temperature and then auto a/c will cut off and restart a/c depending on the inside cabin temperature.

2. VW Ameo comfortline 26k kms, 2017yr - 5L price
Depends on your choice , Polo will always be my first preference . And also since you are getting a highline it is always a good deal.
Drive both the cars before finalizing.

Fist of all hank you for the review, and I was hoping I could share couple of my findings with you for your opinions
I actually went down the VW dealership in my city, and tried out the seats. I'm 6'1 and do belong to the heavier peoples of India :)
a) Tall drivers would have a hard time looking through the glass and somehow I did not have enough room. Guess checking signals at stops, would be a neck breaking job for me
b) When I put the driver seat as per my preference, not much space is back there, as you had mentioned that fat passengers would have enough room space, somehow I don't see my family sitting there. Leg room is too small.
c) On a different note, I'm trying to learn how to drive and not being able to find a car that has enough room for me to see clearly - one way or the other - the top part of the car obstructs my view ( yes, I did change the height to the lowest)- any pointers ?

the back seats have lesser space if u push the seats behind , if all member are on the heavier side it 'might' be a problem .
as far as driver is concerned I am a tall guy and a bit on the bulkier side , I ve adjusted my seat to the lowest adjustment and never felt my vision getting blocked , I faced that issue while trying tiago which was unpleasant. ul get used to it once u keep driving it .
Prasenjit Giri Let's be honest. Some part of the review is clearly wrong and misleading. This is a driver's car. So if it's just for you and your wife and kids then it should be fine. The rear seat leg room is really really really really very poor. And for someone your height may I suggest I20 Elite or Honda Jazz. Yes, I own a Polo Petrol Highline. I love it. But I am single and my height is barely 5'7. Average height of friends are on the same line so there is just enough room for leg at the back.

Mohammed Shaheer this car does not have a Tsi engine. Only the polo GT gets it. Sorry to say, there are way too many mistakes in this video.
Mohammed Shaheer The Polo GT is exactly the same except for the Engine. The GT engine is more refined and pretty powerful. 0-100 in less than 10 secs on GT while the regular one takes 13secs. Top speed for GT is 190kmph while this has 165. The only drawback being GT petrol comes with only Automatic option. If I had the money, I'd have gone for GT.

2. You shot this video in and around Hinjewadi, so what was on-road price of the car then ?
1. Mileage is around 12 avg .
2. 7.8 lacs on road for highline chinchwad region.

5.69% is for Volkswagen's own loan scheme they offer, I went with Hdfc.

What do you mean VW's own loan scheme offer? How much HDFC charged you? If the rate is only 5.69% don't you think it is a better loan option when the lowest one is 9.6% from SBI ?

About the infotainment system and safety, are they better than the hyundai i20 active? And how do u change the gear back to 1 from reverse
Simple:
1) Hold the Clutch
2) Press the Gear Knob DOWN & bring it to Neutral,
4) Now WITHOUT pressing the Gear Knob Down, simply put the 1st Gear.!
Nope. You don't have to press the Gear Knob down to bring it to Neutral. The only time you need to press it down is to put Reverse gear.
The gearshifts are so easy that i only use 2-3 fingers to change them. Bringing the gear knob back to Neutral takes only one finger.
yes u have to.. cause the question is "how to bring it back to 1st gear from Reverse gear"... since the gear is in reverse u have to press it again little down..& once its out of the reverse gear spot, u have to release it so it can come up, then u have to move the knob to the 1st gear.."
Hi Pradeep. with all sue respect I'd like to say it again. You don't have to press the knob if you are already in Reverse. I have a Petrol Highline myself and I've been driving my Polo for over 16 months now. You just full press the clutch down, bring the gear knob to Neutral by simply pulling it down. It comes off[releases from] the pressed[reverse] mode automatically and push it back to 1st gear.
If you have a polo and you have been pressing the knob to bring it to neural, just try it the way I am saying. It's just simpler.

you mentioned some features which is not available in other car like back mirror....but it is almost available in all brand even in my car..NISSAN...Good features in volkswagen..awesome but for headlight separate key may have little foci..

ground clearance is very good , shock absorbers take 95% of em very nicely except the odd pot holes which pop out of nowhere.

as long as ur rpm is in accordance with the right gear there is no noise from the engine , its very smooth , as far as cabin noise am very much happy with it . U roll up all the windows and ur totally cut from the outside . Noise and vibration is minimal even at top speeds.

Bro I have VW petrol but I have driven Baleno. I think Baleno's engine is much peppier than Polo's any day. I think you should take a test drive again. Petrol Engine of Suzuki is one of the best.

theeyam dada good Choice. diesel version would have 10.5k per year .. petrol should be little less.. it's little expensive than maruthi Hyundai but polo is perfect all rounder and value for money..
theeyam dada A lot of people suggest you give your car for servicing once every year. But if you run your car almost everyday then I believe you should give the car for servicing only if you touch your kms. 15kms for the first service. I have a friend and she serviced her car after a little more than 2 years and it costed her 7.5k.
The cruise control is very awkwardly placed. Have to take eyes off the road. Should've put steering mounted controls

Okay, an honest user opinion. If you are a family of 4 and the average height is not more than 5'7 then Polo is fine. i20 elite has more space and leg room. If that is your major concern then go for i20 elite.

I have a polo highline flash red from July 2016 . Its awesome looking and still impresses daily. U can get other cars in other colors but you can never get the same look as polo . So go ahead with Polo red and enjoy the car and ride.

Balaji Ramanathan first free checkup is done before 7k kms thats fairly free ur only charged for oil top up . Rest yearly sevicing vl cost around 10k avg plus ur insurance ofcourse . Spare parts are costlier compared to indian brands out der .

The engine no doubt is a good engine as it is of VW..
U can test drive both the vehicles both are good, but I prefer to go for VW Polo.

Polo is understated in terms of look but if you compare it with Baleno - Polo looks way better and more aggressive. Baleno has the after sales service reliability and much larger room inside the car.
