Nice to see Gemini getting some attention. Sometimes wondered why the stock game didn't come with a two person pod earlier on.
1-seat pods are already quite OP compared to IRL, a two-seater can easily do almost everything you'd want from a three-seater with less mass
@@sundhaug92 IRL or in KSP. Because in ksp career mode you need all three seats, atleast if you want to repair in flight
The Gemini is an insane spacecraft. Great design - for a short-mission flight. But the later missions lasting 3-4 days were nuts. I can't imagine being stuck in that tiny spacecraft for that long. (My local science museum has a Gemini mockup - it is *CRAMPED*. Imagine sitting in a Mazda Miata for 4 days. (With a couple hours once a day of EVA spent outside.)
But I *LOVED* the cancelled designs to have it land under a parasail, and the MOL concept. (Plus, a space capsule with ejection seats - how frickin' metal is that?)
Though I'm struggling to get any mod running I still love this game. So much that I really need a T-shirt, or at least a poster of it...
Your video's are always entertaining and usually I learn something new too! Keep up the gud work!
Fifth Element is darn amazing. Maybe not for the plot, but damn, I still have a blast every time I watch it.
Glad to see you back on KSP! I'm new to the game, have it for both PC and Xbox and have been overdosing on it, and your videos have been invaluable! Just wanted to drop in and say thank you and please keep the vids coming. Trying to get to Duna now (with little success) Keep up the good work, Scott, and long live Kerbal!
Duncan Jones birth name was actually Duncan Zowie Jones (although he was referred to as Zowie Bowie back in the day.) David Bowie deliberately never changed his own legal last name from Jones.
Was just reading about this same docking on Wikipedia, good video as always Scott!!
OH MY GOD GUYS I THINK I HAVE A LEGITIMATE REASON FOR WEAPONRY IN KSP! *ASTEROID LASERS!!!!*
I worked in the shop that made the gemini capsule. It makes my skin crawl everytime you guys mispronounce gemini. Other than that, the video is mostly accurate.
I have a few questions regarding the concept of "zero gravity".
First off, even outside the Earth's atmosphere and in what is technically "space" wouldn't you still be under some form of gravitational pull primarily from the sun? Secondly would the only way for you to be in "zero gravity" be outside of the gravitational field of the super massive black-hole at the center of the galaxy, since even if you made it past the Oort cloud (or outside the influence of the sun) you would still be under the pull from our galaxy's super massive black-hole?
Also feel free to tell me to put my thinking cap down for a bit if I'm thinking about this to hard.
But you are already in freefall around those things. The state of zero g refers to being in freefall, not having no gravitational force acting on you.
Under your situation you would still be under gravitation from the earth as well, and one final detail, gravitational fields never end, the just decrease at an exponentially slower rate, but never actually reaching nothing.
@@dubsy1026 so then the sun's gravitational field extends even beyond the Oort cloud but it's influence is to weak to affect anything?
@@Tiger2071-e6f yes. It does affect things, but so little it doesn't really matter
James Bond films are awesome without exception as you said. who ever said they're not, are just raking around
Very sorry to ask a question that I am sure has been asked before. However, being new to your channel I am just curious. Have you considered adding an OBS window to show the chat you are having with the viewers so we can see the questions? I am guessing you have a good reason you have not so again, sorry for the question. Just need to ask.
Great content my friend. New sub here. Looking forward to catching up on previous and later vids. Just got KSP myself with the advice of some sim friends. Thanks again for the share and best of luck.
Solaris is originally based on a book by polish writer Stanislaw Lem
Filmed at least three times, and I don't think they ever got it right.
The versions I've seen have been fine movies, even if they don't quite capture the book.
I just raise the point because the book is virtually unique, in that it is a science fiction story about science, with two alien intelligences trying, but failing, to speak with one another.
I know there's the Tartovsky one and the George Clooney one... what's the 3rd Solaris film?
It was a two-part Soviet TV movie:

Upvoted right at "James Bond movies are all amazing".
Hey sir,
Just curious; what ‘end of the world’ or ‘doomsday’ movie do you recommend/like most (just because on topic)? Stuff like Armageddon, deep impact, day after tomorrow, the core, (starship troopers?), etc. Most have large leaps in realism - but hey - they’re movies.
Things like Gravity or The Martian are more solo survival and not a ‘large global catastrophe’ movie if you will.
Fly safe!
Is thi the mission where the gemini started spinning like crazy and they had to abort?
The EVA space battle at the space station in Moonraker is legit.
Fun fact. the 1st and 7th man to set set foot on the moon, nearly had a fatal accident while docked to the agena, during the gemini program
I love James Bourne and Jason Bond, they're both kewl.
Could you please make a guide on the tweakables in the vab and sph construction modes when you click on parts, and what they do. I recently got ksp enhanced edition on xbox one, and I can't figure them out. even if you just made something that had all the parts with different tweakables, and went through it and gave a quick description of what each option does, that would be a massive help. the following would also be helpful: making an Apollo style rocket/lander that doesn't flop around like a wet noodle, what changing the fuel flow numbers (+ -) does, and what I need almost as much as the tweakables, how to figure out how big to make your rocket. I know over engineering is a common rookie mistake, but im still having a lot of trouble, and on pc, you have mods that help, while I don't. again, I just need a basic guide on what kind and how many engines and fuel tanks to use, and what should be used in what stage. anyway, these guides would be useful to many newbies, not just me. anyway, in closing, I just want to say that I love your ksp videos, and that they, as well as those by marcus house, are why I bought ksp to begin with. keep up the good work!
I haven't watched most of the James Bond movies, but it occurs to me that, if one of them is going to have a rocket in it, it's probably going to be Moonraker.
Finally someone who fucking appreciates old James Bond movies AND space AND is bald. Hard criteria to meet.
Scott; Rocket science question! Is there a simple formula I can plug numbers into in order to calculate a suicide burn?
What's up with the ground?
I've been asking the Hive mind for answers twitter.com/DJSnM/status/977236759158206464
Best theory is the OBS capture binding is hooking into the rendering pipeline prior to the final terrain lighting.
Just means his video capture software is getting the graphic data from the game before the game itself has a chance to apply lighting effects.
Scott how did you know I was reading Gene Krantz’s book “failure is not an option” and was at exactly this part today? You’re psychic!
I always get pissed that they give us 1/3 of the actual parts on the gemini capsule. Wheres the docking port? Wheres the cone shaped bottom of the gemini capsule? What the fuck! Why only give us the bare minimum?!
Have you ever reviewed the inflatable space pods? Are they a potential positive idea?
Its my science master! Grab the popcorn
How about being able to perform physical time warp in KSP Enhanced Edition on the Xbox One? I have made several posts on the technical help forums to no avail. I have sent emails to the support team through the website. I have tried using squad bug tracker, but unfortunately it is not possible to log in to squad bug tracker, it simply returns you to the login screen.
Leo'n was a wonderful movie. So was Fifth Element.
Was the James Bond 'Easter Egg' in 'Return Of The Man From U.n.C.L.E.' mentioned?
Have you seen the movie first man. Any thoughts?
"The professional" in the us, "leon" in europe? I've always known it as "leon the professional" xD
what about maxwell smart? imo, best agent ever
I really liked the Kingsman movies. These dudes knew how to were a suit.
I like how late this game is in its life and the developers still have not reinforced connections between parts. Making KJE a redundant mod isn't a bad thing. :/
Nice vid, hoping for a new commented career on KSP!
Why do we need jet packs?
So obi wan can have the high ground more often.
Is it possible to access the agena and Gemini in the regular game, outside of this scenario?
Can you please do a simple and new tutorial how to get to duna and back with science? Thanks for answering
Stridsvagn with probe or kerbals? Why not use multi probes with an antenna?
Where's the link to the full stream?
I could explain the tactical problems inherent with trying to field individual jetpacks, if you wanted.
Is it possible to design a rocket that drops stages from the top down, instead of from bottom-up or the sides?
You can drop tanks from the sides. Jetissoning from the top means it needs some kind of engines to move it away fast enough that the rest of the ship doesn't hit it.
I had the same problem in obs but when I've added desktop capture the problem disappeared
Your background is broken lol Saturn V next please I can't connect the third stage properly without the shroud part and not the cone fuel tank
Are you still going to land on the moon using the dlc?
Scott, can you buy some model rockets and go launch them in a park?
James Bond got nothing on Jeb!
this mission is more of a rendezvous tutorial.
I miss Kerbin......R.I.P Kerbin
Gotta agree on 2010. It's only sin was that it wasn't 2001. Other than that it was a terrific movie.
If Wendell F. Moore hadn't died prematurely the army may have gone for jet packs over helicopters. Although that would have been unlikely.
But Scott have you seen Starcrash?
lol you work for apple ? what do you do there?
He works in the factory line where they retroactively remove the earphone plug
Interesting that you find the Soderbergh re-cut of 2001 to be better. I feel like it went way too lean, and important scenes were lost, denying us of context which helps inform the story. Plus, the overuse of Hal's eye in random places is way too jarring and heavy-handed. The original cut, for all of its length and everything, didn't feel heavy-handed.
And I first saw the film when I was 9 (saw 2010 first, actually).
I bought Making History and did everything it said like unzipping the files and putting everything in the right folder but it won’t work. I’ve tried reinstalling KSP and nothing works :(
I have 1.4.1.2089 for OSX. I've unzipped everything and put everything into the same file. KSP runs fine but with no sign of Making History. The company won't acknowledge me either which is annoying. I've tried emailing them three times over the last week about it.
am i the only one that noticed the shading on the sas icons next to the navball at around the 30 minute mark?
Kerbal Space Program: Scorched Earth Edition.
For jetpacks even with current limitations they are militarily feasible for some functions just not economically feasible.
Eg, one use to jump up a cliff to attack from an undefended side.
Main con is that in a combat situation its only viable for use and toss before engaging because there highly explosive.
Fuel limits in combat situations mainly just stop them being used for more strategic distances.
Main reason not to use them is that they cost a lot and have to be tossed before engaging if you don't want know what burning in a napalm style fire is like.
Quick question can mods be used in the mission editor
I wonder when someone with bd armory is going to make a mission with tanks or fighter jets
I can't see a bunch of rocketeers with rifles being even mildly useful... but give them all grenades and we're talking.
How to find your livestream???
They're always 10pm Pacific time, so good luck catching them if you live elsewhere in the US.
I'm waiting for 007 to catch a venereal disease. And wouldn't they cast Idris Elba for the part?
Quantum of Solace?
You should play Space Flight Simulator, it’s a simple rockets esc game.
2001 was NOT boring and by your standards I am probably a young kid
I had that bug too.
But it was Atlas Agena...
Who came here from first man
Where’s the land?!
Best spy?
Michael Weston.
for someone who got burned yeah and Shawn Spencer is the best detective too!
No one has commented to this cvideo after 5 months..
As for jet packs for combat. Lets see no need for ropes to get on top of buildings or over wapls fences. Depending on lpud they are and how fast. I mean captain america winter soilder has a guy with a jetpacks
i always thought its pronounced "gemenie" not "geminai" i know you write it gemini but you speak it different
I had the glitch only inside the game
I did this mission a few days ago. I had to deorbit both vessels in order to land on Kerbin but who cares 😂
pro prayers in ksp use suits
My name‘s Valerian:)
Austin powers?
11:30 lmao it seems like he’s being sarcastic af but he’s not
Obscure Russian scifi
I think Skyfall was a bit rubbish, apart from that James bond is awesome!
Interstellar is the best sci-fi movie, both on the science, the story, the visuals, all of it. 2001 was pretty and had some good science... but was incredibly boring and the ending is literal nonsense (despite everyone trying to interpret it, it really is, deliberately, nonsense and very stupid). The Martian was pretty good as well, lots of fun and gave accuracy a good try, but isn't quite Interstellar. Agreed on Apollo 13... not sci-fi, 'cause not fiction. But... one of the greatest films of all time, especially historical films!
I don't like the new terrain textures... this release is not promising....
The Fifth Element is a Vamped up big budget Plan Nine from Outer Space. Worst movies ever. For a ginger Doctor if Rupert Grint is willing to do the job he'd be perfect.
And the Bond Movies WERE all good until No-Fun McSourpants got the role. I prefer Bond with submarine cars and laser watches, not being an even more boring version of Jason Bourne.
Uncie Scott, why be you no launching car in homage to elons shenanigans? :3
oh dear I must of missed it! I went through your lib before posting and domestic blindness occured. Good-o I shall uncover its Elon inspired magic henceforth o7 Keep up the good show ol chap
the agena was lauched on a Atlas rocket
The Agena-D upper stage could also be used on the Titan III (in this combination called Titan IIIb), but the first launch of that combination was about four months after Gemini 8, where they docked successfully with the Agena Target Vehicle (a modified Agena-D) for the first time (and where the glitch mentioned in the video happened, as one of the Agenas thrusters was stuck and spinning up the docked spacecraft).
Rip kerbin. Consumed by the void
twas the cracken
where have all the textures gone? They have all glitched out again.
