This is very much Doctor Who as sitcom, not dissimilar in to Moffat's own Chalk from 1997. It's also where Danny Pink falls down as a character for me, as he's needlessly interfering and just getting in the way, frankly. Also, he seems to demand explanations without listening to the reason why they weren't originally offered. A bit later on he becomes almost emotionally manipulative in certain things. In short, I don't think he's very likeable and something of black mark against Series 8 as a whole, in my opinion.
