I use a similar trap with great results, but the only real flaws I'm finding are they are single use unless you want deep deep frames. I'm thinking about adding a second closable entry up higher and using some kind of filler insert so you can stack regular nuc boxes on once you get a swarm caught. I just finished painting 10 swart traps, I have 8 out now and hope to put some more up this weekend. just came across your video, great video. I have a question .. Have you or anyone you know of, mixed half and half lemon grass oil and olive oil to dilute, and keep the smell a little longer for bait ? I use a drop of lemon grass oil on a q tip, but when the bees come in they won't go into the entrance. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. I don’t know if anyone that dilutes it. I use the q tip and refresh with swarm commander every two weeks. I have some that got wet inside and have a musty smell that they wouldn’t go into and I’ve had wasp nests move in too.

I try to transfer them before they have time to draw out that burr comb on the bottom. Swarm trapping is a lot of fun all by itself.
