Pazzi and his pick-pocket were both so obvious when they followed Lecter. He knew they were nearby and following him. Pazzi got his print then just left the body lying there! Florence was so busy, nobody even noticed.
Well to be fair the pick-pocket didn't even make a peep when he got mortally wounded, so nobody really noticed he got stabbed. Plus Lecter just kept walking into the crowd like nothing happened, so he blended right in without anyone batting an eye.

That groin-stab is how Italian painter Caravaggio famously killed someone in Rome, and which got him kicked out of Rome and would eventually condemn him to death . I wonder if this scene was a reference to Caravaggio , one of the great Italian masters and one of the founders of western art .

Lecter is a damn Doctor and an expert a human anatomy as we as being a sociopathic psychotic serial killer with heavy emphasis on cannibalism and mental manipulation of everyone he comes in contact with. His IQ is beyond genius level as well. All of which make him.a very proficient predator. The truly scary thing is there are those who are not literary fictional characters who are beyond even his skill. True apex predators that are human in looks only. One such individual killed a target at a major sporting event with a hotdog as tens of thousands of fans and media cameras looked on sending the actual murder live to millions of viewers in 2009. He was never caught or prosecuted, what made it truly creepy is the guy he killed was surrounded by bodyguards and a high ranking member of a criminal syndicate.
For sure. The book goes into much more detail and Pazzi has a first try with a character called Esmerelda. Hannibal takes Gnocco out with a Spyderco Harpy. But in the film its a non serrated one. Which are rare. He also uses a Spyderco Civilian. The Harpy was in and out of Gnocco so quick he didn't have to even wipe the blade apparently. I'm not surprised.Spyderco knives are scarily sharp.

This movie is so 90s, the way they dress, not one smartphone, yet more stylish than many people today.
Just people bleeding out in the moment.
The movie came out in Feb. 2001
@@quintenwhyte6660 yes but the screenplay is 90s. During the 2000s there were already smartphones but not iPhone or Android yet. Those startac were already obsolete.
People back then in Italy were stylish and not so Americanized.
Why do people need a smartphone to dress stylish?
Just having him walk by and feel his wind is scary enough that I would’ve quit .
What if you had no idea who he was? The pickpocket had no idea who Hannibal was.

Yep , he felt presence of an evil spirit , according to Ridley Scott.
Yeah he looked like he was involved in some African spirit shit, so I guessed he sensed something.
