I hear some swinging roots rock, swing-country and at times some jazz and blues all put together with contemporary lyrics. a Very serious singer she is & you never see her smile, not once.
Man I love them! Best compliment I could tell them:Tom McCall called the other day and he said to me for Sallie and her band "For heavens sake stay".They are so a great reflection of our earthy NW.They are us and we are them. They are us like Nicholass Restraunt on Grand.Yeah,real,raw,pure,good.This is what Kerouac wrote about in On the Road.
I agree somewhat, I agree that there has been some good music in the last ten years. But there are just not the same outlets. You won't hear anything other than pre approved pop on the radio, MTV doesnt play videos, and you really have to dig to find anything new. But it is bands and voices like this that make it worth it.
When I turn on the radio It all sounds the same What have these people done to music They just don’t care anymore Chorus: Well, I swear I’ll always say the wrong thing Even if they never play my music on the radio ‘Cause I can’t help but be a mess I’ll never be like the rest I couldn’t, even if I tried What is this robot sounding bullshit They just don’t care anymore Why don’t we get rid of all of the people And we can sell our souls to the man
@clownnookie if you haven't found amazing music in the past ten years you have not at all been trying. There's been a ton of great stuff released and it is easier to find the older stuff now more than ever. I hate when people say what you said.
There IS a lot of great new music being made today! But many people aren't used to looking for it! There was a time when radio was a great source for new music, and it was handed to you on a silver platter! Today, radio & record companies have stopped promoting good music, and instead found it easier to manufacture the trash that is today's pop music. And it gives the impression to the casual listener that the good stuff is gone. People have to learn to find new sources, rather than MTV or radio
That is an excellent analysis my friend. There was a time when MTV was "the" source of good music. Long forgotten.... Radio is crap now, well, at least mostly. It seems odd, but while on the one hand we are in the communication era, and with the net one can access the entire planet, on the other hand it is becoming more difficult to "discover" things.

I find that this is a very good original "oldie revival" song. But gosh the video clip looks so disappointing to me. Absolutely no originality. Pure crap. My respect to Sally and her band though. Ps : please fire your video director and producer. Thanks.
What is the "thread" that connects each of the different times vignettes ? it is the house. It starts with the schoolgirls coming in after school to catch their program. Next, the same house, goes through various time periods and different occupants - all the while Sallie and her band are playing on the T.V. - until finally, the band is playing in the living room in front of those gathered for a house party. A very well thought out concept. I watched it a couple times before I realized I was always in the same place !
My new addiction. My new drug of choice! I live and love Sallie Ford!
Merci, bayon, merci, Libération !!! Disque de l'année

This is her best song. Retro, catchy and edgy at the same time!
I hear some swinging roots rock, swing-country and at times some jazz and blues all put together with contemporary lyrics.

@420TRex Her argument is sound. "Quit hatin'!"
J'savais pas que Baptiste de 10min à Perdre était guitariste... :D
Sounds like a rehash of '80s college radio.
A new Janis ? :o
Sexy beyond words
I just dont care anymore!!!
Who says "Nahh", and "Quit Hatin" anymore?
The 60's girls' dance at the beginning is strangely erotic in its restraint...
pas d'electro son sec 1950-60
This song in a sentence:
I'm indie and that makes me better than you.
Nahh, you're just an awkward looking girl that yells at the microphone.
And ur toxic. She is awesome btw
