Thats a snapping turtle, it will take your finger off. It can even bite behind itself cuz its neck is so flexible. Yes, he was quite rough with it, but ultimately he saved it.

Holding Turtles like that can actually kill them. It can dislocate their vertebrae and Turning a turtle side over side can cause the intestine to twist, which is painful and can kill the turtle as well. Additionally, that turtle was most likely a mother because the mothers are the ones who leave their homes in order to lay their eggs.

I must say, he did everything wrong with that snapping turtle. You should never ever grab it by its tail because it can hurt the turtles spine which is where almost all of its nerves are located😨 and he threw it the opposite direction of which it was heading, so it will cross the road again😭🤬
Micas Outdoor Adventures that’s the only way you can hold a snapping turtle their tails are strong so it won’t hurt them and if he grabs it by its shell he would’ve been bit and snapping turtles necks are long so the best way is to grab it by it’s tail but that’s the only thing he did right 😂😂😂
Well, i must say, i'm not American so i don't have hands on experience with it. The tail might be strong enough, but i know for a fact that the neck is not long enough to grap your hand if it's at the back end of the carapace. Have you seen the video on how to move a turtle on brave wilderness?🙂

Turtles are supposed to be moved in the direction they're headed. They know where they're going. Worse, you never pick one up by the tail. The spine could be damaged. And this should be something that goes without saying, but you don't throw a turtle. It went tumbling down the hill, and for all we know it got stuck on its back in the branches and starved to death.
