Fixing RC cars in my opinion is the best way to learn about and build up confidence to work on a real car. Thanks to this hobby I am able to learn and fix all of my family’s cars as well as my own. And, DIY will let you know exactly what is wrong and how to troubleshoot the issue rather then having a mechanic guessing and causing more problems or issues they don’t know from the start which can lead to more problems or issues. But, DIY can also causes more issues if you don’t know what you are doing so it’s always a learning experience for me which is always great in doing better in future repairs or build. Great job Kev!! Can’t wait to see you bashing it up in this giant MT. Cheers 🍻👍

Hey congrats for the build!! AMAZING! I have one remark: the fact that you are linking the two shocks together might restrict the kinematic during their travel; I believe that from full compression to full extension the two shocks bodies move relative to each other, even if by a small amount. If you block them with that big L-bracket (which you built @10:15) you will restrict their relative movement, and that leads to extra forces exchanged between the shocks pistons/bodies, which will wear out the sealing faster. that's just my remark, maybe I am wrong..

I can see an issue with the shocks being tied/braced together, I think the bracket will bend and fatigue/stress as it's all heim'ed together and no play is technically allowed in that setup except for the travel itself. The shocks travel arcs are slightly different even though they are right next to each other. I'd stand them off with some flexible material so there's a little bit of give. My 5 cents, see how it goes. Love the build, not hating just trying to contribute.

Definetly need to paint or powder coat all the steel bits that are bolted to alloy or they will react to each other and deteriorate. Love watching this build can’t wait to see you at the monster Jam next yr 🤞
