Farmer on the Prairie is about my life on our central Illinois farm. My name is Seth and I am a young farmer with the desire to get things done and to keep the farm running smoothly. The farm is 740 row crop acres and 100 acres of pasture. We run about 100 grass-fed cattle and 1500 meat birds a year. Throughout my videos, you will get to know Dad, MommaD, and Sister. My brothers Josiah and Luke help us whenever there is a big project so they can feel important. We also have a part time employee Ben who is the comic relief. Because so many different things happen on our farm, there is never a dull moment. So tap that Subscribe button and come along for the ride!

You have to be your dads most valuable tool. Every farmer needs at least one son that is not afraid of hard work. You must be such a blessing to your family.

You might want to blow out the vent plug. Should be on the final drives also. Keep them clean if not it will blow seals out. You guys keep your equipment very nice. Love your channel. Take care and good luck this year!!!

Its good to see someone who takes care of equipment, better than running until it stops

It's nice to see a farmer that cares enough about their equipment to wash it. Farmers around my area don't usually wash anything.

A good service is what keeps equipment going forever. Its lucky your place has a guy who does it so thoroughly. Your cleaning the machine first tells what the rest of the job will be like. As for two guys working on one machine you need a checklist so both guys are on the same page as the work goes along. I think that red thing is a vent and filler hole. When the plug on the side runs it's full . Im with RogFlo on the holes. You can get just about any grommet you want these days. Combine looks great because it's in good hands. Peace.

Better to break the hose in the driveway than in your fields....bright side .

That's a Fumoto drain valve. As a mechanic at a large LTL we use them on most of our equipment to stop the damage to the oil pan from over tightening the drain bolt.

Hurry Seth, Get that combine out of your shop before the critters take up residence! Could no believe how many oil reservoirs there were...of course having to refill them a couple of times didn’t help. Thanks for another great video. Hard to believe that harvest time is just around the corner. Be safe and enjoy the Fourth of July weekend.

Feel for your Dad. Had a bad run of things and complicated things for you Seth. Was one thing after another to get the job almost done. Again your skills shined as you did your machines on the combine. At the end could feel your let's get this done and put of shop. Happy Forth of July to you and the family.

Why do you use an adjustable wrench. Why not use the proper open and boxed end wrench? Won’t strip as quickly. Proper tool does a better job!

Yup it's pretty funny when our Dad's mess up, but don't laugh too much because the next time it could be you who mess up

You have a hot water pressure washer yet it appears that you weren't using that feature. You can't properly clean, especially high pressure oils, off with just cold water. Your surfaces appear sort of clean but as soon as you get around dust you will find yourself with a real mess and possible gear box cooling problems!

I’m curious.... why weld instead of just using a rubber grommet plug? Welding seems like unnecessary overkill?

Should you rather pay for the rubber plug or weld it so it last longer

Seth you are not smiling as much as you used to and you don't appear to be all that happy. You are way to young to burdened. Talk to Ben and reason stuff out.
