So interesting I’ve never painted with just a knife. I do portraits and people and features mostly. So want the small details. Waterlillies are my favorite in all of Impressionism. I taught my kids classmates how to paint them but used a lot more details. When I finally saw Monets painting I was surprised how they were blobs of paint mostly. It was at the Chicago institute of Srt snd even other impressionist we’re doing interesting. The one of the lady and girl on a boat.. when you get close it’s like they squashed two big dots on a face. But across the room they seem to detailed. Guess your mind fills in the gaps. You use your imagination also! I have some neat stories about Monet.. I’ve heard there and other reading Love it!!
