Thanks so much for starting from scratch on this unit. I’ve watched a bunch of vids but usually they’ve already got something worked up so I haven’t really gotten a clear idea of how to begin. Really helpful!
If you wanna know more about the Novation Circuit Tracks...join me LIVE tonight! I'll be jamming, working with Tracks and answering your questions. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/OceLIvM8rXk/v-deo.html
So I just got say this. Thank you Taetro so much. For all your videos, In the past 3 days I have learned more about my mpk mini then I have in years. I also am a huge fan of your music and it has inspired me from wanting to create riddim to lofi type beats/songs. Good music is good music. I love your work and was wondering how I could support you?
I got a Tracks for Xmas and have been working my way through a load of UA-cam videos. I've only just stumbled across this one, and it's one of the best for a complete beginner like me - thanks for walking things through in such a clear, easy to follow way.
The external synth feeding back into the Circuit is a game changer. Can you do that for both or just one? Having four synth layers all internally would be pretty incredible.
Agreed. Not needing a mixer for two external synths/samplers would be so great. It's the kind of feature you don't really consider until you've gotten to use it on other machines like the Deluge, Octatrack, or Digitone. OH! Can you use the Circuit's effects on the monitored inputs?
I think it should be possible to use input one and two independently with any panning, gain, or fx from the Tracks. This would be amazing to plug two instruments into, even a guitar into one and synth into the other and have the kick side chain guitar chords, for example.
Thanks Taetro for cool content! I’m new to the scene. I use iPad with koala AUM and some synths and drum machines. What is the advantage of this device?
Audio input with the possibility to add effects to external signals makes this a perfect fit for MicroFreak. Desperately want both of them! Great video BTW!
Do you think the tracks has enough sounds and functionality on its own for basic house tracks? What other hardware or devices would compliment well for someone unfamiliar with synths?
Happy that YT lead me to you. I watch tons of videos like this and yours seem to be among the best, the best, the best, the best... Curious how you got your hands on one of these way back in February though?
Hi! From what I recall, both the original Circuit and the MonoStation had a Glide control next to velocity (for when two notes of a monophonic synth would overlap, it would control the gliding from the first to the other) Is it still there?
I noticed in this video and in the livestream that you didn’t use the step doubler to go from 16 to 32 steps per pattern and that you instead tend to jump straight to chaining four patterns together and then recording your track. Is there any particular reason for avoiding the 32-step length? Thanks for your great content!
I am looking at the Elektron Cycles, to use as a Drum machine. I just got a used Novation Bass Station 2. This looks like fun..but is it beginner friendly? Pads tend to confuse me. lol! I need something that I can create Drum tracks with, without it taking forever. Thanks!
@@Taetro Thanks! I ended up getting the Drumbrute Impact. Now I need something that's Polyphonic, to go with the Bass Station 2. This might be the thing, until I can afford something else. lol!
Thank u so much for this vedio. I hav quarry that I want to sing only in Indian context gospel songs. What music machine should I use or buy.. 1) Akai MPK mk2 or arturia mini play or Akai mpx 16 or circuit tracks ? Please suggest.
Hi man! Thanks alot for your tutorial videos. Just a question: is it possible to use fx like delay just on drums without affects the other sounds/tracks?
How does circuit track integrate with your daw, i.e. Ableton Live. Can it be used as a midi controller? Can it export midi data to an Ableton Live project?
Very cool 😃 I like what Novation is doing lately and like my LaunchPad X. The pad use for sessions, tracks and drums is consistent throughout their entire product line. I guess there’s a strong market for dedicated devices without a computer? But - who doesn’t have a laptop? In the comments below “I’ll take the LaunchKey Mini MK3”, makes sense, which is much cheaper and has a keybed, and comes with lots of beginner software. The Circuit Tracks doesn’t have a sampler - hmmm. I’m surprised. Competitors like the OP-1 or NI Maschine are all sample based, but way more expensive. It’s great that you can use this as a midi controller for other synths, but now you’re approaching DAW territory and more stuff to carry. We’ll see how popular this becomes.
Awesome video taetro!!!!! May I ask you a question? I dont know If I should buy the Impulse 61 or the launchkey 61 mk3. I want to live loop in Ableton like you but I would like o have a good enough keybed.....Would I be able to live loop with the Impulse like with the launchkey, and what do you think of the quality and the keybed of the launchkey? Keep up the good work, love watching all your videos 🙂
I just ordered the first version of the circuit a couple of days ago and can still cancel the order. Should I cancel the order and go for the new version? Would you say the price difference is justified for a person who has no other hardware other than akai mpk mini mk2 (which I couldn't connect anyway)?
Do many of the synth people actually read music or play a traditional instrument? I'm a 100% Novation guy but only use the gear to supplement my guitars, basses, keys and horns. I don't believe these newer synths are "instruments". They are portable computers with built in sounds/effects. Not trying to be a snob but someone who only creates sounds from gear like this is not a musician, you're a computer programmer. If you can't play a traditional instrument, read music or sing you are not a musician.
You can live record unquantised into this device -thats not programming Getting familiar with your equipment thru use and using your ear to produce AUDIO that you like is good even if its just for your own plesure, whether you're shit or not. Most Edm music sucks too, but its the bitter/bad/broke musicians that go around town talking shit on djs. I hear you guys complaining at the coffee shop on occasion.
I play bass , keys and guitar and messing about at the moment with this circuit track as I dont know what I'm doing . But I'm loving it and find it awesome . But just cos i dabble with instruments does not make me a musician . To me a musician is someone who has a career in music . So if anyone made music on trax only ,and made albums and toured and made a living out of this box , they are a musician .
Thanks so much for starting from scratch on this unit. I’ve watched a bunch of vids but usually they’ve already got something worked up so I haven’t really gotten a clear idea of how to begin. Really helpful!
Love how Novation's making their newer stuff real thin and sleek. They look great in my bedroo- I mean studio
They are totally nailing it on the design front

I believe it is for both audio inputs! (Midi 1 & 2 =audio 1&2 in the mixer) but I haven’t tried it out yet. I will soon!

You’re right! I’ll put them together at some point
what a vid, i swear that every time i see one it gets even better, keep going dude!
thanks triple it's much appreciated!! see you on stream tonight??
When I see a new video by Taetro, I automatically give a thumbs up even before watching.
I appreciate you!

i was lucky to have it pre-release and worked on some of the factory projects :)

Have these arrived in Europe yet? I'm in a spending mood.
Spotted on thomann.de 👀... I'm in an enabling mood 😂

I think the novation circuit is MUCH MORE beginner friendly than the elektron cycles. without a doubt!

How many patches or patch packs come preloaded on the Circuit Tracks?

hi does it work with the push 3?
Dang it! I wish of this thing was cheaper :( But, I am getting the launchkey mini mk3!
Also, cute doggo 🙂
I just placed my order today and really liked your video.
awesome I hope you enjoy it!
@@Taetro Got delivery yesterday and already loving it. Are there packs out there for purchase? as a newbie to this kit it would be good to know.
@@Vernalobos there were for circuit 1 - I’m not positive on this but they make also work for Circuit Tracks.
Ableton Push 2 or Novation Circuit Tracks or Native Instruments Maschine Mk3 or Novation Launchkey mini mk3?
Yay.. new hardware! That means the old version will come down in the price even more in the used market!!
that is soooo true and the OG circuit is still gonna be great
This looks like great fun!! Thanks for another brilliant video. Could I add other Novation gear to it like my launchpad or launchkey?
you CAN control it with Launchkey mk3 or launchpad pro!
USB multitrack out?
Awesome demo. Just picked up a demo model from Sweetwater and can't wait to dive in and see what this thing can do :)
Hi man! Thanks alot for your tutorial videos. Just a question: is it possible to use fx like delay just on drums without affects the other sounds/tracks?
Is this track on your spotify? What is its name?
ThAnks for the clear explanation of how those gears work, dope jam !
thanks Romain!
Will be getting one ASAP
sweeeeet
Could you show how to connect a midi keyboard to it
How does circuit track integrate with your daw, i.e. Ableton Live. Can it be used as a midi controller? Can it export midi data to an Ableton Live project?
It can be used as a midi controller, though it could be integrated WAY better
Are they shipping yet? If so anybody know where is a good place to order one from in USA right now?
zounds

Don’t know anything about the impulse. Get the launchkey, deal with the synth action keys
This is litterly ableton in a box. Definitely gonna pick this up.

No UNDO button. No SCREEN. No metronome CLICK. No new SOUNDS. No SPEAKER (but w/battery).
There is a click
Right when I want to see what you hitting on the circuit, I see your face! Its Annoying bro
