I'm losing hope in Elena. I still love to watch her and hope she wins but she will never play as hard as Iga, Sabalenka and Coco. So, I doubt that she will ever be Number 1.
Two terrific matches in a row - Rybakina-Jabeur and Rybakina-Bencic. A good tournament for Elena, working her way back after last year. Three 3-setters will have knocked off the ring rust. I think sometimes people get overcritical because when she is in form she looks unbeatable, but it can't always be like that. At least you have to admire her grit and refusal to give up, and she's only a few small recalibrations away from her best. Tons of season left, this is a good platform. (She just needs to stop getting drawn against form horses who go on to win the tournament, as Bencic seems likely to!)

She is highly motivated, and although she isn’t the quickest on court, she moves better than Rybakina. It seems that made the difference in this match, as well as other factors.

It was a great match from both of them. Belinda came back recently to the tour after delivering her Child; however, she has been playing very well. In this match, she served extreme well made few unforced errors, and hit powerful ground strokes. Glad for her. On the other side, Rybakina continues displaying her power service game but her number of unforced errors is still too high and it prevents her from winning her matches.
i think many of the players already knew Rybakina's weaknesses. they used to her shots, her game play. she needs to rally longer n wait for the right time to strike.

I begin to wonder if Rybakina is going to win another slam again, not to mention going into the final or semi-final. She did not play badly today on her standard. But the others just get much better such that her advantage in serve and forehand does not always get her to dominate the game as before. Her slower footwork or anticipation, error in big points, now cost her a lot in the game. 2 years ago, she can beat everyone if she was in form. Now not sure if you can beat any of the top ten even she is in good shape.

Ryba one of my favs lost again (semis in tokyo olymics) vs Bencic...The problem is Bencic is a fighter who plays agressive with high confidence like she has won 100 GS. Opponents under pressure make "unforced" errors trying to put on a fight. Bencic can fire winners on both wings and all this GS champs lost against her already. Sabalenka, halep, iga, serena, wosniaki, osaka , vondrousova , krejcikova. GS runners up maybe pegula and Ons on that list as well.
Rybakina's major weakness is her movement in the court. She hits hard and well , when she is in position. If she can' t improve her movement at tall player , she won' t reach ever no 1 position. Her net presense is also vlose to zero , due to her play strategy. In that regard her baseline play is bit boring to watch. But...she does not mind that. Just wins count.
Grass may be the only surface where she is not at a disadvantage. She is probably horrible on clay . Never really paid much attention to her , but she is lucky that she has a power game because there is not much more she has in the tool bag.
Rybakina needs a better coach. She has all the power and techniques. But her ball placement can be more strategic. Hitting back to your opponent doesn’t give you the edge you need

Rybakina is not consistent enough to win a tournament. She can win three or four matches in a row but not five or six matches to win the tournament. Pathetic.

its ger major achilles heel and at 25 she is getting slower and less mobile ....no chance now of adding to her solitary grand slam
