Thank you! I guess my tips would be to focus on shape, a good silhouette can help a lot. My second tip would be to have at least one thing to make the piece "more interesting," like the arms and head in this piece (this is more applicable to creature/monster/character design, but it can be applied to more things).
Also practice, use references, all that good stuff. There is no tip that will improve your art more than practice.
