To me I think this symphony "The Pastoral" is the most beautiful of all of Beethovens symphonies. Of course this is my opinion, and only engage myself. Beautiful performance !
I love how the composer/director made the piece seem not as busy as it actual is by the user of dynamics. (Crescendo, decrescendo, Forte[etc], Piano[etc], and etc.

There is a reason why it is called an interpretation, because it isn't an exact science and there is no right or wrong, just what fits your education, belief and taste. Therefore, I doubt you can prove anyone for being wrong, you can only try and convince them that your view is more likely to fit the way Beethoven wanted it to be performed, which even then doesn't make it 'right'. Many believe that the performer also has an important role interpreting it according the way *he want*.
Please forgive my ignorance, wht is there a lady sat there with an instrument and doesn't play a single note all the performance?Or have I missed her playing somewhere? Thank you for your help x
Bella esecuzione. L'orchestra è, manco a dirlo, fantastica. Tuttavia sul piano tecnico la direzione di Herreweghe (malgrado la sua statura di musicista e, immagino, di concertatore), oltretutto davanti a una delle più grandi orchestre del mondo, la trovo abbastanza imbarazzante.

To say Beethoven is a gift from the gods is an understatement. This is most likely the most beautiful piece of music ever composed.

I love the speed and the size of the orchestra, I cannot stand hearing this piece with a large orchestra dragging every movement.

I don't think this is too fast. I think it is "bouncy"at this tempo, and it fits the piece very well. After all, it is about the outdoors.
