Wow Juna! I've been gel printing for a few years now & can't count the number of gel printing videos I've watched on YT but every one of yours has been a *revelation* -- it's like I'm learning all over again -- thanks so much for sharing your process with us ❤
Thank you, I loved watching and experience the newness of doing this project with alcohol ink, how well the ink showed up and how it created this lovely piece of art with your fabulous hand crafted stencyl.. One could feel the cexcitment as you worked with the ink and your giggle created that same excitement while I was watching.😊
Really beautiful!! Wow! Love the effect and the colours! Thanks for sharing your process. You explain it very well. I will keep following your teaching!
I just watched this wonderful video & I gasped at the end result. Talk about gorgeous!! I rarely subscribe to any youtube videos, but I just subscribed to yours. You have a lovely way of explaining & it was cool to share in your delight at the end result. How could one not be delighted with it? And, with the gel plate it is always a "one of a kind" result, never to be duplicated. Thanks from the west coast of BC.
I was really surprised that you could take the print with acrylic paint. Had not expected that at all., Thought you would have to use alcohol again. And, again, thumbs up for the gellplate
Fantastic! I’ve always stayed away from alcohol inks, since I wasn’t too impressed with the examples I’ve seen using them on the gel plate, not to mention the added mess. However, your technique and results have changed my mind! Thanks!
I use a turn table so it’s easier to move the plate around. It’s a little easier. Love this, going to give it a go also. Cheers. From Perth West Australia.
Very beautiful Juna! Just discovered your videos. I know you said you made your stencil but do you have any suggestions as to where I can get a similar stencil? Thank you and I look forward to your next one!
Wow 🤩 such beautiful prints… I will have to get my alcohol inks back from my son! I bought one of the metallics and didn’t get to play with it before he borrowed them. I only have a couple of the older ‘mixatives’ which behave so differently. Thank you for this great instructional video xx
So happy you enjoyed the video! Yes, those mixatives really blend into the colors, so you don't see the metallics that well. Ranger now also sells alcohol inks called "Alloys" which will remain visible. Have fun with the inks! 😀
@@junabiagioni 😈 I checked my receipt to make sure I was buying different ones and treated myself to one of the Alloys and two more colours… I’ll be looking out for them arriving, then I can try your techniques 👍😁
This is absolutely beautiful. I recently purchased a gel platebrayer, and alcohol inks, and have it yet tried it. You have inspired me, though I have to say I never understood why we put paint on top of it but yet the print comes through. It’s a mystery… Can you please tell me what kind of white paint you used? Is that just Acrylic?
Gosh Juna, I am loving your videos. I appreciate your instuctions and the fun that you bring to your work. Will these videos continue on youtube when July is over? Thankyou.
WOW!! This came out GORGEOUS!!! *** QUESTION: Did alcohol ink STAIN the gel plate??? *** I saw a video and her gel plate was orange from using alcohol inks on it. It didn't clean off the plate with alcohol. The gel plate still works just fine. But it affects how the print looks when she looks at it through the opposite side of the gel plate! I was wondering if you put matte medium on plate BEFORE alcohol inks, that might keep inks from staining the plate??? TFS Austin TX USA
Glad you liked it! My plate wasn't stained, but that can indeed sometimes happen. And correct, the plate still works fine. Your solution is creative and perhaps it works, I don't know! I guess the matte medium (or gloss medium) will also be transferred onto your print, as the top layer, but if that's ok with you then I don't see any problem. 🙂
Yes, I've heard that too, I believe that's mainly so that they adhere better. So far I haven't had any issues, I don't know if it is different when using a pickup layer in acrylics like I did. But definitely something to take into account, thanks for your comment! 🙂
Yes, if I use the inks directly on paper I use yupo. Ir even better Grafix or Nara. If I use the inks on the gel plate I like to use this method with watercolor paper. Thanks for stopping by! 😊
Ah yes, those work too! I haven't tried the canned air, but I've read about it. I guess it will be quite a strong air stream, which could create fun effects. I should try it out some time too!
Yes, usually they come with a thin straw indeed. So I guess you can control the air stream quite well, even though it's still a strong stream. Sounds good!
Thank you so much Juna, I really really enjoyed and appreciate your video. That’s really really awesome and amazing too. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumb’s up too. Please stay safe and well too
Glad you liked it Gracelyn! It's actually a (relatively cheap) Dutch brand called Florence so I'm not sure if it's available where you live. And really, you definitely don't need this specific brand, any brand of watercolor paper would be fine. Just make sure that it's relatively smooth (hot press watercolor paper), that's all! 😊
It did not stain mine, but I think there's certainly a possibility that it does. I don't think that will affect the functionality of the gel plate though, but you might not want the staining if it's bothering you. Glad you liked the print Laurie!
Everyone needs to know that when you work with alcohol, you need to have good VENTILATION! Do not breathe the fumes!
Absolutely STUNNING! A Cosmic Wonder! Sure wish I had a stencil like that... you should make some to sell... I'd be your 1st buyer! 🙂
That's fabulous, and the stencil did the job. You made the most unique stencil ever!
Thanks so much, glad you like it! 😊

I'd love to, just haven't yet found a reliable way to do it. Glad you like it though! 🥰
So so pretty, and yes reminds me too of a galaxy!! When you get excited I get excited too lol Looking forward tomorrow!! 🥰
Haha, we both get excited! But definitely try it out some time, these inks are so much fun on the gel plate!

I love the stencil you made, do you have information on stencil making?
Thanks!

Beautiful alcohol print. Love that stencil. Thanks fir sharing!
your account is truly a gem! how did you make the stencil?
Definitely going to try that. I was afraid it might harm the gelli plate
No, it doesn't! The alcohol inks can sometimes stain the plate, but that doesn't change the functionality of the plate. 🙂

They say You should use blending solution with metallics and white. Rather than isopropyl

is it possible to use a hair dryer to dry off your gelli plate. it won't melt it?
If you love the alcohol inks then you really should try the yupo paper and small air compresser. I have somuch fun. Joanne In price Utah.

You mean the white board? It's just a plastic board, you can clean off alcohol inks with some alcohol or hand sanitizer. 🙂
Looks amazing 😱
Thanks so much! 😊
