What is one underrated modern film that you think deserves more recognition and is worth studying? 🎞🤔
Keep up the fantastic work! 🙌👏
I've come to hate Whiplash simply for the people who have taken the film's message as ambiguous and excuse the abusive nature of Fletcher's behavior. The conversations around the film enable abuse to be a part of making art and it's fucking disgusting

In The Mood For Love "... had intention behind almost all of its decisions" is funny as actually this contrasts intriguingly with the film's actual behind-the-scenes process. The filming spanned several months, during which the script evolved dynamically. Much of the content was shaped by spontaneous improvisation from the actors, an approach that infused a unique spontaneity into the project. Rather than strictly adhering to a fixed screenplay, the creative direction was allowed to unfold organically, the movie's final form was as much a product of serendipity and moment-to-moment creativity as it was of any predetermined storyline. - it was film of inspiration not a thoughtfull and planned movie. It kinda struck me as recently I was investigating Wong Kar-Wai movies - how they made them and style. Just a fun fact about this movie :D
It is super interesting because although In The Mood for Love striked me as a super well thought out film, Won Kar Wai is famous for making films without a script and improvising as he goes along. I guess he has a sharp mind for visual storytelling, he is a a super interesting filmmaker
