Just to let you know, when you sleep you can have your family visit you, even if they are dead... if you listen to Terence enough, and sleep enough you will realize that this "other place" you experience every night by your pineal gland making DMT to dream as we sleep (science proves this), so what I call "travel" but people call dreaming/astral projection, is the reason I say travel is because it's a real world.... “Nothing lasts, but nothing is lost” is an album or a song by Shpongle. What if everything is so impermanent, that even what is lost is lost, then the concept of time ~changes~
@@philipp176 youre thinking in 1dimension. Forward is the only dynamic the average human can sense. To be simple. How about upwards and inward to the left inward right? @@jackmclaren768 Yes. I can imagine the two players (the obvious and oblivion) changing their 'seat' after every move (one frame at a time) ... and the 'endgame' being to keep the game moving - this too shall pass?
@@Joe-kn3wt The 'changing of the seat' reminds me of Zhuangzi's parable of the dreaming butterfly. Forgive me if you know it. Paraphrasing it the way the story goes is that Zhuangzi was remembering a time when he was dreaming he was a butterfly, and in the dream he was only the butterfly and no longer Zhuangzi, happy and fluttering around, but when he awoke he realized he was solid Zhuangzi. But at that moment he was no longer certain if he had been Zhuangzi dreaming he was a butterfly, or if he were now a butterfly dreaming of being Zhuangzi.
@@jackmclaren768 You gave the 'this too shall pass' expression its 'proper' synthesis in the parable of the 'butterfly person'. It brought about another question, "Are we in a perpetual state of a chrysalis stage and 'dreaming' our way out as if it is all real?" Just a thought.
@@Joe-kn3wt An interesting question/thought. There is something i like about Plato's literary technique in his dialogues. The structure of the Symposium is interesting, we are confronted with characters speaking, one of which 'begins' to recall a story, we are then brought into that story and from there are led to where Socrates 'begins' to tell another story in recollection. We are then never brought back to the two who originally began the recollection, but 'finish' with the words of one of the characters within the recollection, himself recollecting. As i say this i am reminded that i am recollecting 'my' recollection of the Symposium which was indeed constructed from Plato's own recollections. A lot of recollecting of recollections in the one moment.
Allow me to offer: That which passeth understanding, the infinite, the unchanging ... All That Is ... lasts. This ephemeral world will pass. I've been thinking recently... that sex is a return to nothingness. Not nothingness in a bad sense, but just in the "space between" sense. We're all made of atoms, and atoms are mostly made up of empty space that's between these subatomic particles. And yet often we identify with the me that says "i'm all of this and that and i'm going somewhere". And the orgasm reminds us that we are also the space-between. The unmanifested. The void. It makes our mind go blank. I guess that's why the French call it a "little death".
Nothing lasts, but history repeats (astrology points the way) and reincarnation - which I believe are what happened when the first murder happened as the soul needed somewhere to go.
